Holiday Inn Express Albert Dock - Liverpool

Nice clean hotel continent location for a Beatles fan 1 block from the museum maybe less. Good restaurants around the hotel. Helpful staff.

Often stay at this Hotel- its very convenient for Central Liverpool and nicely situated on the Albert Dock. It's beginning to show its age a bit now though. Some of the bathrooms, in particular , could do with a few more home comforts, for example, heating! The weather was freezing, and the heating was not at all adequate in the room- just one heater. […] I got a tip from a fellow guest that you need to ask for 2 room 'keys' (they work the electricity in the rooms), and then leave one in the slot the whole time otherwise your heater goes off when you go out, and you have to start trying to heat the place up again when you return. I know the room rates are not the most expensive in Liverpool, but I really don't expect to have to wear outdoor clothes in my room in order to be comfortable, which is what I had to do this visit. The staff are very friendly and very helpful, but there is a huge choice of quality accommodation in Liverpool now so I think this hotel needs a few upgrades to compete. So saying, it seems to be very busy at weekends so maybe they're not concerned about improvements. Read more

Spend two nights over our Anniversary in Liverpool at Albert Dock. Hotel room was available for us even with early arrival - room very large, inside view of the dock area, Big Wheel and Liver Building. Only complaint, you must place keycard into slot to activate electricity - took quite awhile to take off chill -to be expected in winter. Beautoful location, right on the docks, right next to several museums inc. Beatles. But location is a 15min long walk to centre of Liverpool

The room was a good size and the staff was very helpful. Our toilet in the first room did not work and they were quick to find another room to move us to with no hassle. Right on the tourist site of Albert Dock it was perfect to walk to everything. This hotel was oerfect for our stay. Its location could not be beaten, even if all you want to do is go shopping, or wander around the docks, The staff was pleasant and always ready to help with any queries you had. The breakfast was not fantastic, but it was adequate. The only problem I had was that I had ordered a double room and got a twin room, […] so I'd ensure that i made that clear in my next booking. We stayed here for one night before Creamfields (a dance music festival in nearby Daresbury). The hotel is a short drive from Liverpool Lime Street Station and the cab journey only cost £4.40. The rooms are furnished well and full of charm. You have a superb view of the Albert Dock. It was far more than I expected from a Holiday Express.

Very central for shopping - Liverpool 1 just across the road! ferry terminal, Albert Dock, museums etc. etc.

I recommend this hotel as an ideal base to visit the tourist attractions of Liverpool being centrally located at Albert Dock within minutes of Liverpool One shopping centre ,museums ,Beatles Story and Arena.I stayed two nights with my husband and continental breakfast was included in the price which I had advanced booked.I found check in staff welcoming […] ,efficient and helpful. Receptionist was welcoming and knowledgeable. Our dock view room with view of the Liver building was large and comfortable. Breakfast was adequate and self service. Parking could be a problem for those with heavy cases wanting to put cases in the car prior to visiting museums, as it is some distance away. We loved our stay at holiday inn. Was a bit hard to find but once we found it we loved it. They were very helpful. We stayed an extra night.

Excellent accommodation for the price paid - very large room and bathroom overlooking the 'eye'. Breakfast was continental and was kept replenished. Sausages, scrambled egg & baked beans available in hot cabinet but not too good. Hotel on Albert Dock so close to lots of the attractions, and plenty of restaurants around the dock for an evening meal. […] The first night we ate in PanAm which gave 20% to Holiday Inn Express guests and in Gusto on our second evening-both meals were very good. Very pleasent stay and just perfect if you are going to the echo arena it's right opposite .and good location if you want to go shopping just a few mins to the centre

We arrived at the Holiday Inn in Albert Dock in the evening.The girl at reception was very helpful advising us of places to go to eat and later on music venues.The breakfast every morning was very tasty and fresh and the staff were most helpful throughout our stay.The hotel is within walking distance of Liverpool One ,the Cavern Club,the Maritime Museum […] and the Tate.I would be happy to stay here again.Mary. Lovely new hotel in restored docklands. Fantastic location - everything worth seeing in Liverpool is within 10minutes walk: museums, the Beatles story, docklands, shopping. Fantastic. Hotel is comfortable (although I found it a little warm, my wife did not!). Sleeper couch was suitable for kids, and, at a push, for an adult or teenager. Service was […] friendly and efficient. Breakfast was great. Only downside is parking - no free parking, but only costs £7.50 a night at the mutistorey carpark about 200m away. Highly recommended. Read more

A very convenient location for shopping at Liverpool One, or the Echo Arena or the two museums. Albert Dock is attractive; this location is on a higher level, with downwards views of the dock with its sailing ships. Beakfast is a fry-up no go area with over-cooked sausages and scrambled egg where the eggs have scrambled off, buit the coffee is Ok and […] the cereals and the bread rolls. Parking outside needs to be paid straight away - pay & display, there is a multistory car park a 3min walk away, 10 pounds for 24hrs. Check-in nice and easy. Rooms are really nice, nice view over the dock from mine, original arched brickwork ceiling & great shower. Bed was rock hard and had sunk in the middle, the main doors to the room closed like […] prison cell doors, there is little in the way of soundproof either, I could hear every word my neighbour was saying on his mobile in the morning - AND I could make out who he was talking with. Not good enough I'm afraid to say. The breakfast (which I can only compare to the Holiday Inn Express Birmingham where I have stayed) was well below par, although the breakfast area was well kept and very clean (as was the hotel throughout). we stayed over night in holiday in express and the hotel location was brill the hotel very clean. the staff was very helpful i would of liked to stay a couple more days very relaxed but had to work. i would loveto go back to this hotel in the very near future. thank you you made my birthday perfect

The feature we most liked about this hotel was the room. Its arched roof and brick work was fantastic. We found it quiet and had a great view of the Liverpool Wheel. Would definitely stop here again.

Great location, with loads of amenities locally. Park at the Arena car park as the hotel gives you 25% discount. Hotel pretty roomy and very clean, staff very friendly and helpful. The only criticism is that because it is obviously an old warehouse it was cold in all the communal spaces - but it was a very cold weekend! Would be fabulous in summer

Some hotels will say they are in a great location to see the sights and many will not live up to this claim. This hotel however does live up to it. The staff weren't the most helpful but they were fine. The breakfast was nice. Room was clean but ever so slightly cold. Beautiful views of the docks though.

I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel for a works night out.. Hotel was great, staff very friendly, room very clean, if a bit dark (why does no one have main lights any more?) part of old dock buildings so exposed brickwork and beams were a nice feature. I chose this hotel because I was attending a concert at the Echo arena and wanted to be close to it. I loved this hotel. The room was large ( more like a North American hotel) and I loved the high arched brick ceilings. On the whole I found the hotel had a nice airy feeling. There are lots of restaurants and coffee houses close buy . There are museums […] within a short walking distance. Liverpool one is a short walk away with great shopping. Also the train station is about 10 mins walk if one is planning day trips. The small yellow city bus goes along the street in front of the hotel . I took the bus from Liverpool Lime street Read more

Great position, clean, nice breakfast, quiet.

Our stay here was absolutely fantastic! I cannot praise it enough! We had a fabulous view of the Echo Wheel from our room which was clean,cosy and comfortable. The hotel is in an excellent location and very easy to get to from the airport. Staff were friendly but were a little unhelpful when it came to asking directions to the World Museum and transport […] back to the airport. We were told to ask at the bus station but I think staff should know the directions to the popular tourist destinations. We had a breakfast included with our reservation which was lovely but I disliked that the coffee came from a machine and the croissants were pretty poor too. Would definitely recommend the hotel. The location was great for exploring Liverpool. Breakfast was a bonus. Wished we could have stayed longer !

the hotel has a silly small sign on a big wall which meant we had to drive around the dock a couple of times before we found it ..... however it was well worth the effort, our stay was really good ..... and now we know where it is located, we will certainly stay again.

stayed for 4 nights in Aug 2011, very nice hotel, clean and staff helpful. check in on 2nd floor which was not obvious. park in the arena car park with a hotel voucher for £7.50 per 24 hours. location is brilliant. the breakfast is not A1 but it is free and is more than ok. all in all a very good 4 day stay in Liverpool.

Excellent hotel near Liverpool City Centre. The rooms were very clean and I had an excellent view. The only downside during my stay was breakfast on the 2nd day was disappointing- Stone cold beans! but I didn't complain because it was a minor thing due to the rest of my stay being brilliant!

Very friendly and helpful staff, very comfortable room, good breakfast. Excellent location for visits to the Tate and only 10 minutes easy walk from town.

Thought hotel was expensive for a Holiday Express but when we arrived realised why, really character hotel right in the centre of regenerated docks and worth the money. Staff really helpful - especially ALLEN in reception. Couldn't do enough. Would definitely go again.

A really first class hotel, a very stylish conversion of a historic warehouse, making this a truly delightful location for a stay close to Liverpool's waterfront museums and heritage attractions - also close enough to walk to the city's cathedrals and Lime Street station.

Right on the Docks in a commercial and livley part of liverpool, this hotel is perfect for a night out. Staying her for a hen or stag is perfect, it's close to everywhere and clean. The rooms were large and well maintained and the bathroom was spacious for a hotel of this grade. Breakfast is basic but fine, the only thing you will find is its hard […] to find any staff, hallways are deserted and reception is tucked away on floor 1- the receptionist may be the only people you see during the stay. If you are coming on holiday here and/or staying for more than a few nights this hotel will be too basic but for a girls shopping weekend, hen/stag or just a night or two away with friends this is fine. The Liverpool Holiday Inn Express at Albert Dock is a fascinating place to stay, being part of a reclaimed docklands warehouse by the Mersey. Loads of restaurants nearby, although they are of the modern, trendy and a bit noisy variety that might not suit everyone. Nice walks along the waterfront. Parking a bit of a problem. £3.50 overnight on pay and […] display outside but 'overnight' expires at 8am. Echo Arena multi storey costs £10 overnight. Hotel rooms smart and comfortable and -- a bonus these days -- a basic self-serve breakfast is in at the price. My only issue was that there seemed to be a problem with the plumbing in 228, which was backing up a little. Didn't have time to report it, unfortunately. Read more
