The hotel was great. Might not be the safest location. We only needed the hotel to sleep for about 6hrs. We picked it because it had free shuttle service to the airport. What we didn't know is that the shuttle doesnt start until 6am which was the time of our flight. They said they couldn't help us. We called taxi company's but they weren't running because […] of the storm the night before. So, we had on drive of the airport and pay to park our car there which means we didn't need to stay at the hotel anyways since the main reason we were staying there was to leave our car there during our vacation. This was our second trip to this hotel. This year and 2 years ago. It was close to Reagan Airport where my daughter was flying in and out of to go back to Dallas TX. I live in Johnstown PA, so we met in DC when she was there for a CPA conference. Both times we were looking for good shopping malls. Both times we were only told about the Ballentine Mall […] up Glebe Rd from the hotel. Not once in both years were we ever told that Pentagon City Metro stop had a huge mall with even plaza shops all around the first floor of all the high rise business buildings in that area. We found it my accident when looking in a book in the drawer of the hotel room. We were only able to spend 1 1/2 hrs there on our last day. But next year when we go back we will be sure to visit there for a longer time. We drove all the way to Rockville Md to White Flint Mall which no longer had the shopping I remember when growing up in that area as a child. But the good thing was, I got to spend time with my daughter who just turned 30 yrs old We have a nice time despite all the driving around. Very basic hotel. Old and in bad need of renovation. Cost is the only plus. Hotel shuttle to the Metro was always overcrowded. Sometimes you can't get on and have to wait for the next shuttle. A/C unit in our room was very loud.

Only 1 of 2 elevators worked the entire time we were there for 7 floors of rooms and the 2nd elevator quit for a short time on Monday. The ice machine on our floor didn't work. The hotel was starting to show signs of wear that needed to be repaired and the entire place was starting to look run down. They were remodeling this hotel, so the lobby was a mess but overall it is OK. The good thing is that they have a shuttle that takes you to the airport and also to a mall and a Metro Station which from there you can go anywhere in Washington D.C. You can save a lot with taxi.

Room and service were surprisingly very good. I expected more run down, considering the neighborhood. We even had dinner at the bar and were pleasantly surprised. We asked for a extra roll-a-way bed at arrival and it was in our room when we returned from afternoon activities. It would be nice if better directions were placed EVERYWHERE outside to direct traffic in the right direction upon arrival. Great experience! All staff members were very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was great. Room was very clean and comfortable. Shuttle service was excellent. The hotel was being painted and papered in some areas; did not cause any problems for us. We will definitely stay here again if we have the opportunity.

The shuttle was always late and ended too early in the evening for convenience. We always had to leave our fun stuff early just to catch it. The breakfast staff was cranky and not very helpful. The hotel was in a shambles being renovated the whole time we stayed there and they didn't even offer us a discount or anything for the inconvenience of having […] our water shut off in the middle of the day and one elevator being out of commission for a couple days. The hotel and rooms showed its age. However, it was in the process of being renovated. Hopefully, it will be a complete overhaul. The door to my room needed to be changed. It looked as if it was not completely closed. The chain lock looked as if it had been forced open. The heating and air conditioning unit made a lot of noise.

I stayed with my husband at this hotel on April 17th. I found it to be clean enough. The staff and service seemed good though we only stayed one night. The hotel is currently being renovated, so I understood that there might be some inconveniences. The main one that we had was with the plumbing. To complete a flush cycle, we had to hold the toilet handle […] the whole time. The water pressure in the sink was extremely low. And the tub was so stopped up that the water rose past our ankles during our showers. After getting out of the tub, we then had to wait 15 to 20 minutes for that water to go down before we could clean the tub for the next person to use it. What was not listed in their amenities when we booked is that their shuttle to Reagan Airport/Pentagon City Metro station runs between 6am and 10pm (as of 3 wks ago when we were there). Sometimes on the hour, others on the half hour--they have a complete list posted in their lobby. Our flight landed at 11pm and that's when we found out we had to take […] a taxi to the hotel. Cost about $20 with tip. You could try to call them when you land to see if you can get their shuttle to the hotel because otherwise they pretty much just circle from the hotel to the Metro station. Good pillows but the bed creaked and the a/c did not stay on long-had to use the high fan setting to stay cool overnight. I was staying one night on business. I only made one request at check-in. They told me to give them 20 minutes to call a cab. I gave them advance notice of half an hour. 29 minutes later in the lobby, the young clerk who took on that task was gone and another clerk made what seemed to be a pretense at trying to get a cab for me. He kept telling me to […] take the shuttle to the Pentagon Metro station. I may well have been going in the opposite direction but that was his message. The Shuttle would not be there for another thirty minutes. As it happened, I had a social engagement at an embassy in Washington. I allowed plenty of time but the failure of the hotel to make the one arrangement I requested, left me one hour and fifteen minutes late. In general, the attitude of the staff ranged from disinterested to apparently frazzled. This is a big city hotel but the staff don't seem to be trained to handle basic functions. To top off my day, when I tried to take a shower that evening, there was no hot water. I wish this was an uncommon experience. Hotels need to keep their hot water system running all day. This is an aggravation that makes sure I will not be a repeat customer. But it had a good breakfast. Read more

This hotel is not exactly conveniently located to downtown DC, but it is close enough; the Pentagon and Arlington Cemetary are close by. The accomodations are spacious, clean, and relaxing. The staff is curtious and helpful. Shuttle service to and from the airport is offered at no cost.

Plus: Close driving distance to the Mall and Downtown. Minus: Overall cleanliness and condition of the room: small ants running over the furniture; noisy air conditioning. Very good breakfast, with scrambles eggs and sausages every day (somehow crowded on weekend).

The staff was very helpfull and friendly. The shuttles were crowded and needed be more frequent. The breakfast was very good. The shuttle and subway did add about an hour to the trip (each way). In the future, I may stay in the foggy bottom area so I can walk to the mall area (and skipp the shuttle/subway).
