I don't mind going downstairs for tea/coffee in the morning. Some people might wish to know that there is not a coffee pot in the individual hotel rooms, however. Their bellmen and front desk clerks are great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Stay !"
The Staff was professional and friendly every step of the way. Comfy room, only a few minutes walk from the French Quarter, and great coffee and continental breakfast. Only stayed one night but will stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Everything was good. The scent floating through the entire hotel was wonderful, even bought one of the candles. My only suggestion would be a coffeepot in the room!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mardi Gras retreat"
The room was really nice and centrally located to all the mardi gras events. I was able to walk to all the the attractions in about 5 minutes. The staff was extremely friendly and were helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Went with my girlfriend as our first vacation together. We had a great time in NOLA. The hotel is located close to Canal and Burbon but far enough to get away from the noise. We were on the 11th floor and I think it was a corner room but no windows in the room which was weird but got used to. Was nice for taking a mid day nap. One if the more spacious […] rooms I have stayed in New Orleans. We didn't ask for any services from the hotel except valet parking so really had no complaints. Friendly staff. "Perfect location, within walking distance of bourb"
My boyfriend and I rented a basic room for mardi gras. When we got there, they had overbooked so we got upgraded to the penthouse! It was the best experience we've had and I would recommend this to anyone thinking about staying here.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location for Mardi Gras"
Our stay at the hotel was great. We arrived to New Orleans early and the staff was able to check us in early even though they were extremely busy. The staff was very nice and accommodating. Room was decorated well and very comfortable. It was a great experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel convenient to French Quarter"
We made another visit to New Orleans to enjoy the French Quarter and eat some wonderful food, We timed the trip to watch some early Mardi Gras parades and our hotel was only a block away from the major parade route.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was very updated, clean and in a great location. Close enough to all amenties but far away from the noise. Great hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a wonderful place to stay: fun bar scene, great location for walking to the French Quarter or taking the streetcar to the Garden District. I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
What a pleasant stay we had. The hotel is located just outside the French Quarter, away from the craziness but close enough to everything you come to New Orleans to see. Service was fantastic. They offered us free drinks during happy house and that was fabulous. Our room was windowless which initially made us feel strange. But after a night in that […] windowless room we loved it. Comfortable bed and spacious bathroom and no sun light to wake us up in the morning. Not to mention the quietness. Totally recommend this place for a NOLA visit. "Close enough but far enough away"
We went down to New Orleans on a random weekend before the Mardi Gras parades were due to start, and all we could think was "Thank goodness our hotel was a 7 minute walk from Bourbon Street". It was quiet and nice to escape the craziness but close enough we could dive back in. Our room had a small fridge which was nice to stash a few waters for the […] morning. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Especially the doorman who had a cab waiting to take us to the airport after our last tour ended and we had checked out. Cabs to and from airport were a flat rate ($33 for one or two people or $14 per person if more than two). The hotel hotel was chic and clean. I would most certainly stay here again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location. Nice ambience"
The staff were excellent and the hotel was a great change from the corporate blandness of other local hotels. I would have liked coffee/tea making facilities in the room but this is a minor point. It was also well priced for the quality offered.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was amazing! Great location, bus stop is right outside if you want to go to garden district & marigny, and the french quarter is within a short walking distance. The staff were friendly & accommodating. The rooms are really clean and modern. The bar is excellent, has great cocktails , and they leave out a pitcher so you can try some in the […] late afternoon. I wish they had a restaurant but bar was nice. Only one treadmill, stair master and bike in exercise facility so got a little crowded.Genuine Expedia guest review
STAFF: Hotel valet was difficult to find upon my arrival. I called the receptionist and she gave me detailed instructions. Every time I called the front desk, the staff was friendly and informative. "A very modern way to see the city"
I absolutely loved the hotel. Walking distance or a quick trolley ride to all the major destinations, but tucked away just enough for privacy away from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter. Staff was informative, welcoming, and friendly and the decor was very modern and tasteful. I highly recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had better, had worse. When I first arrived and saw the room, it wasn't what was expected..Especially for the price and location. However, the longer I stayed and understood the ambiance, it was appreciated more. Wished there would have been some type of breakfast aside from the apples, and/or having to go across the street to eat. Also, there's no […] where to park. So, didn't have much of a choice than to opt for the $35 valet. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Room is small"
I understand this is the New Orleans District. But for me the room was somewhat small. Also there was a smell which I was not sure if they had just painted our floor and room. It is in a great area for walking distant to shops, dinning and the Superdome.Genuine Expedia guest review
"rock star room has great architechtoral features"
we took great personal photos there and the central location was great for new comers. Upon arriving we were greeted by Rennard who was amazing and attentive. "Toilets do not work"
Good location but terrible hotel. The toilets do not flush. When I asked to have it fixed someone came 20 min later. It happened a second time and I talked to the manager and he blamed me! His reasoning was that it was a green hotel and the water usage is low, which makes no sense because green means they just less water overall not on a toilet! He […] moved me to bigger room but still wanted to give me grief for my complaint. So I let him have it after that. They are not 4 star hotel I would rate them at a 1 star. Horrible staff and the management was horrendous Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by International House Thank you for your comments. We see reviews such as yours as tools for improvement. Our toilets are brand new Toto toilets and the flush mechanism is the same as it is for all toilets. Sadly, they do get clogged from time to time. I am glad that we were able to upgrade you to a larger room as an apology for the delay in unclogging the toilet. We hope that you will reconsider and stay with us again.
I enjoyed my stay at International house and would stay again. My room was small, but clean and comfortable. I was on the 8th floor so noise from the streets was not a problem. My only complaints were I wish they served coffee a little later in the lobby or had coffee pots in the rooms. It is New Orleans and with bars that never close, I was unable […] to make it downstairs for coffee in time. I think they could at least serve coffee in the bar, even if you have to pay for it. The bar is nice, but it takes FOREVER to get a drink. However, they are good and it's a great place to lounge either alone or with a friend. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to everywhere we wanted to go"
Was at the IH for a very brief visit. The hotel was very clean with most ammenities, and overall was very comfortable. The staff were always pleasant. This hotel is just minutes from the French Quarter and just down the street from the Riverwalk, Harrah's, etc. Would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel in the heart of the city."
Beautifully decorated and modern vibe to the place. Clean and well maintained. Yes the rooms are on the small, but more than adequate. Plenty of closet and drawer space and full size bathroom. Really don’t need any more than that. Checked in late and had no problems. Staff was always pleasant and helpful. Location is perfect. Close to everything...only […] took a cab once and that was from the airport. Otherwise everything is in walking or can be reached by taking the street cars. Of note other reviews mentioned mishaps with renovations, but we had no issues at all with that. Didn’t even see or hear any renovations taking place while we were there...not that the place needs it. Highly recommend International House and will gladly stay again on our next trip to the Crescent City Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We will be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Loa Bar is really nice. The daily special drinks are hits or misses. They don't serve the Potation anymore, which was suppose elf to be one of the city's new drinks. The room a little too minimalist. There is no mirror in the room, which is inconvenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by International House We are thrilled that you liked our loa bar. We love it too. All of our rooms do have mirrors, but some are not equipped with full length mirrors. We are in the process of insuring that all rooms have full length mirrors and hope that you will be standing in front of one of them when you return.
Loved it! Comfort and design.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fancy hotel in a great location w/ mixology bar."
The bar staff was extremely knowledgeable on mixology and fancy cocktails. The front desk staff and bellman were VERY polite and nice (easy going). The lobby is fantastic. It has this great huge community table and lounge area that is extremely inviting. We could walk to most of the sites we needed to see.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Suited us well"
Overall, this was a B+ to A - stay....very nice. I guess everywhere has its quirk, and this one had to do with us staying in one of their 'windowless rockstar' rooms, on the 11th floor. There is a penthouse on the 12th floor, but part of the 11th must open to the roof, and those rooms have a 'hatch' on the ceiling. Our room was one of those, and occasionally, […] something would scratch over the top of the hatch, and it was a bit disconcerting. Also heard a crow cawing up there. But other than that, everything was very nice. Slept well, nice and friendly service. No problems. Would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very nice hotel but room was small."
This hotel is very nice but our room was very small. I chose this hotel because I didn't want one directly in the French Quarter. Bourbon Street is fun, and is only a 0.5 mile walk, but I loved this location because it was far enough away to where we escaped the crowds when we didn't want to be in them. It was a little pricey (about 120 a night) but […] it was worth it for me and my friend because we wanted a comfortable place to stay when we felt like lounging around. It is located very close to Canal Street, easily accesible to the street cars and any big shops. Many convenient stores just around the corners. The hotel lobby was very nice and had a really cool looking bar. Staff was very friendly. My only complaint would be that our room was extremely small. Only had a queen bed, an armoir with tv and mini fridge inside and a bathroom, with not a whole lot of walking room. However, I would recommend this hotel to others if you are looking to do more than party on Bourbon St. Good place for 2 people to lounge around between attractions. "Our Fave NOLA hotel."
We stayed here before and we returned because we love this hotel. It's got so much character, it's hip, it's a fantastic location and it smells so good when you walk in. We got a personalized welcome card when we arrived. Our room was quaint and lovely. The bathroom is spacious and has a great shower. It is our first choice for New Orleans. "Clean and modern"
Room was very clean and stylish. As with many 4 star hotels, there are less amenities included as they instead pride themselves on service. I would have like a coffee maker in the room although the coffee in the lobby was quite good. And a note pronounced that they would sell you a toothbrush/toothpaste set for $5. The room service menu had no actual […] meal items, just snack food. The hotel bar is great, quirky bartender priding himself on inventing new cocktails, definitely a hotspot in the area for happy hour. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but a bit overpriced"
Clean, well decorated but small room. Room with queen-sized bed only featured the bed and a armoire with TV and small fridge. No in-room coffee maker. Great location, decor and hotel bar. Staff was friendly and helpful. For the price, you can get more space at other nearby hotels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
International House is quite lovely. The rooms are smaill, but very comfortable. The beds are plush and comfortable. The bathrooms are large and nicely appointed. "Hair in the Bed"
Checked in very late, entered our tiny, tiny room only to find hair on the sheets. When I mentioned (not complained, but but made sure the front desk knew) all I got was: "Uh, sorry." Tiny room: NYC rooms are 2X the size and 2/3 the price. No bureau. Metal night stand that probably was thought to be funky, but comes across cheap. All the caulking in […] the bathroom needs redoing. Mold in the shower. Our room was never vacuumed the 3 nights we were there. The place is more concerned with being "boutique" than offering service that fits the cost. Apparently there's coffee/fruit in the morning? No one told us. I saw it being removed before I knew anything about it. You have to ask for any info: check out, wifi, all non-existent unless you inquire. Location is the big plus. 1 1/2 blocks off the Quarter so you're removed from the craziness. Bed, hair-aside, is very comfortable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Classy Hotel with Elegant Style"
I was in New Orleans last in 2008 and was genuinely moved to see how much the city has recovered since Katrina despite its physical and economic scars. I was in New Orleans this time around for a destination wedding with a line parade that concluded with a reception at the Mazarin courtyard. The weather was perfect and the International House Hotel […] was lovely, easily within walking distance of all the major sites, yet slightly out of the way of the funky thoroughfare, Canal Street. I enjoyed returning to the hotel after my outings. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
