"Great hotel in the heart of the city."
Beautifully decorated and modern vibe to the place. Clean and well maintained. Yes the rooms are on the small, but more than adequate. Plenty of closet and drawer space and full size bathroom. Really don’t need any more than that. Checked in late and had no problems. Staff was always pleasant and helpful. Location is perfect. Close to everything...only […] took a cab once and that was from the airport. Otherwise everything is in walking or can be reached by taking the street cars. Of note other reviews mentioned mishaps with renovations, but we had no issues at all with that. Didn’t even see or hear any renovations taking place while we were there...not that the place needs it. Highly recommend International House and will gladly stay again on our next trip to the Crescent City Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We will be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Loa Bar is really nice. The daily special drinks are hits or misses. They don't serve the Potation anymore, which was suppose elf to be one of the city's new drinks. The room a little too minimalist. There is no mirror in the room, which is inconvenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by International House We are thrilled that you liked our loa bar. We love it too. All of our rooms do have mirrors, but some are not equipped with full length mirrors. We are in the process of insuring that all rooms have full length mirrors and hope that you will be standing in front of one of them when you return.
Loved it! Comfort and design.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Great location, clean rooms, amenable & friendly staff...what more can I say? We're repeat customers and wouldn't stay anywhere else in NOLA.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fancy hotel in a great location w/ mixology bar."
The bar staff was extremely knowledgeable on mixology and fancy cocktails. The front desk staff and bellman were VERY polite and nice (easy going). The lobby is fantastic. It has this great huge community table and lounge area that is extremely inviting. We could walk to most of the sites we needed to see.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Suited us well"
Overall, this was a B+ to A - stay....very nice. I guess everywhere has its quirk, and this one had to do with us staying in one of their 'windowless rockstar' rooms, on the 11th floor. There is a penthouse on the 12th floor, but part of the 11th must open to the roof, and those rooms have a 'hatch' on the ceiling. Our room was one of those, and occasionally, […] something would scratch over the top of the hatch, and it was a bit disconcerting. Also heard a crow cawing up there. But other than that, everything was very nice. Slept well, nice and friendly service. No problems. Would stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"gorgeous hotel near Bourbon Street"
The feeling at the hotel was luxurious. The lobby is beautiful and a rich feel. The greeting staff was welcoming. We enjoyed our stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
Enjoyed my stay! The ambiance of the hotel was great!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice hotel but room was small."
This hotel is very nice but our room was very small. I chose this hotel because I didn't want one directly in the French Quarter. Bourbon Street is fun, and is only a 0.5 mile walk, but I loved this location because it was far enough away to where we escaped the crowds when we didn't want to be in them. It was a little pricey (about 120 a night) but […] it was worth it for me and my friend because we wanted a comfortable place to stay when we felt like lounging around. It is located very close to Canal Street, easily accesible to the street cars and any big shops. Many convenient stores just around the corners. The hotel lobby was very nice and had a really cool looking bar. Staff was very friendly. My only complaint would be that our room was extremely small. Only had a queen bed, an armoir with tv and mini fridge inside and a bathroom, with not a whole lot of walking room. However, I would recommend this hotel to others if you are looking to do more than party on Bourbon St. Good place for 2 people to lounge around between attractions. "Our Fave NOLA hotel."
We stayed here before and we returned because we love this hotel. It's got so much character, it's hip, it's a fantastic location and it smells so good when you walk in. We got a personalized welcome card when we arrived. Our room was quaint and lovely. The bathroom is spacious and has a great shower. It is our first choice for New Orleans. If I HAD […] to have a negative, it would be no coffee maker in room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean and modern"
Room was very clean and stylish. As with many 4 star hotels, there are less amenities included as they instead pride themselves on service. I would have like a coffee maker in the room although the coffee in the lobby was quite good. And a note pronounced that they would sell you a toothbrush/toothpaste set for $5. The room service menu had no actual […] meal items, just snack food. The hotel bar is great, quirky bartender priding himself on inventing new cocktails, definitely a hotspot in the area for happy hour. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but a bit overpriced"
Clean, well decorated but small room. Room with queen-sized bed only featured the bed and a armoire with TV and small fridge. No in-room coffee maker. Great location, decor and hotel bar. Staff was friendly and helpful. For the price, you can get more space at other nearby hotels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
International House is quite lovely. The rooms are smaill, but very comfortable. The beds are plush and comfortable. The bathrooms are large and nicely appointed. There is coffee, protein bars and fruit awaiting you in the mornings to start your day. The small lobby bar greets you as you return. The staff is friendly and helpful. "Hair in the Bed"
Checked in very late, entered our tiny, tiny room only to find hair on the sheets. When I mentioned (not complained, but but made sure the front desk knew) all I got was: "Uh, sorry." Tiny room: NYC rooms are 2X the size and 2/3 the price. No bureau. Metal night stand that probably was thought to be funky, but comes across cheap. All the caulking in […] the bathroom needs redoing. Mold in the shower. Our room was never vacuumed the 3 nights we were there. The place is more concerned with being "boutique" than offering service that fits the cost. Apparently there's coffee/fruit in the morning? No one told us. I saw it being removed before I knew anything about it. You have to ask for any info: check out, wifi, all non-existent unless you inquire. Location is the big plus. 1 1/2 blocks off the Quarter so you're removed from the craziness. Bed, hair-aside, is very comfortable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Classy Hotel with Elegant Style"
I was in New Orleans last in 2008 and was genuinely moved to see how much the city has recovered since Katrina despite its physical and economic scars. I was in New Orleans this time around for a destination wedding with a line parade that concluded with a reception at the Mazarin courtyard. The weather was perfect and the International House Hotel […] was lovely, easily within walking distance of all the major sites, yet slightly out of the way of the funky thoroughfare, Canal Street. I enjoyed returning to the hotel after my outings. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"easy walk to the French Quarter"
This is boutique hotel, interesting lobby area, morning coffee and snack needs available in the lobby....spent our days in the French Quarter or along the River all within an easy walk. Clean, wash and wear sheets, mattresses slightly worn.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel was just as described. No surprises. The location was geat to meet your needs. The only negative was that my room had a nasty smell to it. Once I was in the room for a while I got past it but it was nasty every time I entered the room. I had two very large windows but neither one would open. If I could have aired out the room it would have […] been much better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed at IH for five days, and top of the list for us was location. IH is within walking distance of EVERYTHING (of course, this assessment is coming from a New Yorker who is used to walking a lot). Staff is super friendly and accommodating, lobby and bar have great ambiance, and our room was clean and comfy. One slight drawback: there are not enough […] surfaces to place things within the room and bathroom, so things were a bit messy/cluttered, but this was a minor negative. Will definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"GREAT STAFF!!! COZY LOBBY!!!!"
I would DEFINITELY stay at this hotel again! The staff were warm, welcoming and accommodating to several request. "Within walking distance from the French Quarter"
I enjoyed my stay; the hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating. The room was fairly clean although I found a few hairs that could have been caught and there was a stain (it appeared to be just soap or shampoo) on the shower liner. I'm really a very particular person so I'd have to say it was fours stars solid; I was there on a buisness and my […] colleague said she loved it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place to stay"
Great location being close to bourbon street area etc. Cozy environment and friendly staff. Room was clean and cozy but just a little small. Worse complaint would be that the window view we had was of the back of another building and an air conditioning maintenance area. Room 702 terrible view. Overall we were satisfied.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel and location"
The staff are friendly and helpful. Provided me with whatever I needed. I wanted to walk around and they provided me with a great walking map and route that took me to and through the French Quarter and waterfront. I ended up at Red Fish for dinner where they'd made reservations for me. It was just perfect!! Hotel is a very nice boutique hotel in a […] great location.....walking distance to everything. I highly recommend International House. I was in NO for a conference and arrived a little early to see the sites. Perfect location where the French Quarter is less than a 5 minute walk away but it's in a quiet location to escape some of the French Quarter-Bourbon Street craziness. Couldn't have asked for more!! "Over Rated Pricey Hotel"
I was very disappointed when I arrived at the hotel. I looked at the hotel many times on line and was very excited about my anticipated stay. Upon arrival, my heart sank. There were doormen dressed like someone on the street looking very unprofessional. I was surprised to learned that they were employees of a hotel that charges as much as $700- 1000.00 […] for a single night stay. I arrived in my Apple King room. Truly there were 2 apples in the room, but the room was very plain and reeked of the smell of what seemed to be shell fish. I immediately call the front desk and expressed my disappointment. They offer to upgrade me to a Garden King at no additional charge or a Suite for an additional $275.00 per night. I asked to look at both rooms. I looked at the suite first and laughed. I could not believe that they offered this room to be for a total of over $500.00 per night. It was very drab and plain with furniture and a TV that I would equate as being equal to a budget hotel. I opted for the Garden King, with a room that faced a garden that was under construction, a spoke detector that was placed in a square cut in the drywall with a hole next to it and a 32 inch flat screen tv, This being the nicer of the 3 rooms I sadly spent my 40Th wedding anniversary there, I was very disappointed and would not recommend this property to anyone. Enjoyed it and the location was greatGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff were very friendly and efficient and the hotel as a whole was wonderful. However, the first room I was in smelled moldy and had things not working and to be honest, was not comfortable at all. However, they moved me to a better room. the furniture was not in great shape, but the bed was comfy and it was clean. Unfortunately, I think I just […] might have been timing since they were doing a lot of construction, the entire front of the hotel was hard to get in and out of without meeting with construction. I think it was probably timing. I do think when the construction is done and everything is done, this hotel will be one of the best. Just wasn't on this trip Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Lovely hotel just outside of the Quarter"
International House was in an ideal location for us (a group of 6 friends.) It is just outside of the Quarter and as we were in town for a wedding, a really convenient location for going to many of the different neighborhoods. "Over Rated but close to some sights"
I wasn't overly impressed with the hotel. Room was OK but no Ice or vending machines so you have to pay to have someone bring you ice/soda. No coffee in room. No exhaust fan in bathroom. Nothing special for the price you pay. And we checked out the night before due to early departure and still had to go though the check out process again.
