"Classy Hotel with Elegant Style"
I was in New Orleans last in 2008 and was genuinely moved to see how much the city has recovered since Katrina despite its physical and economic scars. I was in New Orleans this time around for a destination wedding with a line parade that concluded with a reception at the Mazarin courtyard. The weather was perfect and the International House Hotel […] was lovely, easily within walking distance of all the major sites, yet slightly out of the way of the funky thoroughfare, Canal Street. I enjoyed returning to the hotel after my outings. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"easy walk to the French Quarter"
This is boutique hotel, interesting lobby area, morning coffee and snack needs available in the lobby....spent our days in the French Quarter or along the River all within an easy walk. Clean, wash and wear sheets, mattresses slightly worn.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The hotel was just as described. No surprises. The location was geat to meet your needs. The only negative was that my room had a nasty smell to it. Once I was in the room for a while I got past it but it was nasty every time I entered the room. I had two very large windows but neither one would open. If I could have aired out the room it would have […] been much better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed at IH for five days, and top of the list for us was location. IH is within walking distance of EVERYTHING (of course, this assessment is coming from a New Yorker who is used to walking a lot). Staff is super friendly and accommodating, lobby and bar have great ambiance, and our room was clean and comfy. One slight drawback: there are not enough […] surfaces to place things within the room and bathroom, so things were a bit messy/cluttered, but this was a minor negative. Will definitely stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The stay was nice"
I would have like to had a microwave in room.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was close to everything. Every staff member we met was outstanding, very friendly and very helpful. Bar and lobby area are beautiful. Room was small, but had everything we needed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"GREAT STAFF!!! COZY LOBBY!!!!"
I would DEFINITELY stay at this hotel again! The staff were warm, welcoming and accommodating to several request. Close to the action, yet far enough away to sleep well...fresh coffee in the morning, to the wonderful aroma of the candles...sexy, vibrant and well-maintained lil hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Within walking distance from the French Quarter"
I enjoyed my stay; the hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating. The room was fairly clean although I found a few hairs that could have been caught and there was a stain (it appeared to be just soap or shampoo) on the shower liner. I'm really a very particular person so I'd have to say it was fours stars solid; I was there on a buisness and my […] colleague said she loved it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
They charged my debit card an extra 60 dollars saying it was for parking and drinks at the hotel bar which I never visited. Other than that it was a nice place. The staff was very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place to stay"
Great location being close to bourbon street area etc. Cozy environment and friendly staff. Room was clean and cozy but just a little small. Worse complaint would be that the window view we had was of the back of another building and an air conditioning maintenance area. Room 702 terrible view. Overall we were satisfied.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay, great location"
Just one block off the French Quarter, quiet, clean, affordable, comfy beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The valet parking people were a bunch of thieves I know it's owned by the separate company but still they shouldn't be using them I recommend you Park yourselfGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel and location"
The staff are friendly and helpful. Provided me with whatever I needed. I wanted to walk around and they provided me with a great walking map and route that took me to and through the French Quarter and waterfront. I ended up at Red Fish for dinner where they'd made reservations for me. It was just perfect!! Hotel is a very nice boutique hotel in a […] great location.....walking distance to everything. I highly recommend International House. I was in NO for a conference and arrived a little early to see the sites. Perfect location where the French Quarter is less than a 5 minute walk away but it's in a quiet location to escape some of the French Quarter-Bourbon Street craziness. Couldn't have asked for more!! "Over Rated Pricey Hotel"
I was very disappointed when I arrived at the hotel. I looked at the hotel many times on line and was very excited about my anticipated stay. Upon arrival, my heart sank. There were doormen dressed like someone on the street looking very unprofessional. I was surprised to learned that they were employees of a hotel that charges as much as $700- 1000.00 […] for a single night stay. I arrived in my Apple King room. Truly there were 2 apples in the room, but the room was very plain and reeked of the smell of what seemed to be shell fish. I immediately call the front desk and expressed my disappointment. They offer to upgrade me to a Garden King at no additional charge or a Suite for an additional $275.00 per night. I asked to look at both rooms. I looked at the suite first and laughed. I could not believe that they offered this room to be for a total of over $500.00 per night. It was very drab and plain with furniture and a TV that I would equate as being equal to a budget hotel. I opted for the Garden King, with a room that faced a garden that was under construction, a spoke detector that was placed in a square cut in the drywall with a hole next to it and a 32 inch flat screen tv, This being the nicer of the 3 rooms I sadly spent my 40Th wedding anniversary there, I was very disappointed and would not recommend this property to anyone. Enjoyed it and the location was greatGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff were very friendly and efficient and the hotel as a whole was wonderful. However, the first room I was in smelled moldy and had things not working and to be honest, was not comfortable at all. However, they moved me to a better room. the furniture was not in great shape, but the bed was comfy and it was clean. Unfortunately, I think I just […] might have been timing since they were doing a lot of construction, the entire front of the hotel was hard to get in and out of without meeting with construction. I think it was probably timing. I do think when the construction is done and everything is done, this hotel will be one of the best. Just wasn't on this trip Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We did a windowless room, ours smelled a little funny, but others traveling with us did the same and theirs was fine. It's a very nice hotel, great location for the rate I was satisfiedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely hotel just outside of the Quarter"
International House was in an ideal location for us (a group of 6 friends.) It is just outside of the Quarter and as we were in town for a wedding, a really convenient location for going to many of the different neighborhoods. The front desk staff was wonderful...super friendly and helpful in suggestions of restaurants, etc. I loved that the hotel wasn't […] super large and felt that the service was more personal. "Over Rated but close to some sights"
I wasn't overly impressed with the hotel. Room was OK but no Ice or vending machines so you have to pay to have someone bring you ice/soda. No coffee in room. No exhaust fan in bathroom. Nothing special for the price you pay. And we checked out the night before due to early departure and still had to go though the check out process again. Early morning […] and no coffee, we were not happy campers! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice walk to Canal Street"
The International House was under construction while we stayed there. That was fine, no problem, did not distract us too much. But I could not figure out what the smell was in the lobby and in the elevators. My husband figured it out, it was all the smell from all of the candles burning! There were a bunch of candles burning that left a layer of smoke […] and the smell of wax permeated. While the housekeeping staff was great about changing our towels and linens, my husband dropped his wallet on the floor and discovered no one had vacuumed underneath the bed in awhile, as they was leftover food from the previous occupants (assumed). And while I thought 9 p.m. was early for vacuuming, I knew that 10 p.m. was way too late to be vacuuming as I had a business meeting in the morning! The doormen and receptionist were sweet. Unfortunately we were invited to a "free" cocktail party our first night, which in turn was an after party, and even though we were sent to the bar, they were not exactly welcoming, and we just split for Bourbon Street. Stayed here 4 jus 1 nite. Was within walking distance of everything. I searched 4 a gd hotel that was close 2 Bourbon St. & found this 1. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Only bad thing I would say about it was the $35 valet parking. Gee whiz!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location, Great Room:)"
This hotel was booked as a last minute get away. Due to the bad weather the plan was to enjoy the comforts of the hotel. Check in was not until 4 which seemed like a drag. However we arrived at 2 and our room was ready:) The room was surprisingly spacious, I was expecting a much smaller room! The bed was super soft and comfy. We took a short walk to […] canal and had a nice lunch and then spent the rest of the night in the room. With the exceptions of our walks downstairs to smoke... The hotel had a very inviting lobby and it smelled wonderful! My only complaint has to do with parking, but it is expected in the city!!! If there had been room service, we probably would have used it. I would definitely stay again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel. Was not there much."
The biggest problem I had was finding the entrance to the hotel. They are in the middle of construction on the entrance and it is difficult to see. The staff members were very helpful and pleasant to talk to. The rooms were clean and neat. It is an older hotel. I would stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was very nice and the staff were pleasant. Our first night the A/C went out and we were then moved to a new room. The proximity to the attractions was great. Only a couple of blocks. I enjoyed it! Worth checking out!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Everything!"
This was my first "adult" trip to Louisiana, and what I enjoyed about International House was the hotel had a "grown up" feel, which was great considering that my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. Additionally, we flew into New Orleans and opted not to rent a car, which worked out very well because the hotel was close to everything. We […] were close to the French Quarter as well as the Superdome. We were within walking distance and with all the food we ate from the surrounding restaurants, we needed the walk! I am definitely enjoying the experience found in boutique hotels as opposed to the chain hotels, and we would definitely stay at International House again. The only negative were the chairs in the room, they looked a little dank, however, the bed was comfortable and the bathrooms were nice! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fun Boutique Hotel"
Really enjoyed this hotel. The aroma therapy and ambiance of the lobby can make you feel better if it was more than you wanted to spend. The Apple TV in the Apple King room was a nice touch. Hotel would be close to perfect if it had a pool. On a humid day of walking the French Quarter it would be nice to cool off in the middle of the day. But what it […] has, it does wonderfully and the location is good. Quiet but just a few block to everything. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect location, hotel had pros and cons though"
First of all, the location was the best thing about it. I was scared to be in a huge city, but the hotel was in a safe area. Walking distance to EVERYTHING. The hotel itself was nice. The lobby and loa bar was the highlight of its beauty. The rooms were on the smaller side, but the windows in the queen room made it feel more open. High ceilings and […] great air conditioning. The water pressure could have been better. The hotel is old, but beautiful. It also means that the noise level between the hallway and your room isn't too favorable. I didn't favor any particular staff member. We just simply checked in and there was no conversation after that. I feel they could improve on making their guests feel personable. There is no breakfast, only a snack menu. So of you want food in New Orleans, you will either walk, or have it delivered. There is also no microwaves, so any food you do order or bring home will go to waste.. or a homeless man. There were a few cosmetic flaws in our room.. The floor had a sink spot and could see some sheet rock. But nothing that would stray me from IH. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was in construction, so the outside is not very appealing. Once you walk in however, the lobby is beautiful. It is very modern and smells great. The staff is very friendly and once of the ladies took time to recommend many things around the area. Once you see the lobby, you expect the rooms to be as fabulous.. however, they are small and very […] simple. Nice, but simple. I would come back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
