Wall Street comes to life before dawn as traders rush to Lower Manhattan to make and break deals. But finance is just one aspect of Lower Manhattan, where colonial churches stand next to skyscrapers. Within the district, rebuilding continues at Ground Zero. At Battery Park, ferries depart for Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, America’s beacon of freedom.

We had a lovey stay here for one night-our 23rd anniversay. We walked to Little Italy for the festival and the next day went to the Seaport for brunch. All close enough. The room was very comfortable, the bed and linens were heavenly. A bit small but suited our needs. I think we were in a "Superior King" room. Anyway, I would diffenitly recomend this lovey piece of NYC. Although beware of address! It is NOT 15 Gold Street, that is their mailing address! Call the hotel for the proper address.

Clean, comfortable and quiet with a big bed, very soft sheets and lovely bathroom products. This hotel is pretty much around the corner from Wall Street and around the corner from Fulton Street Subway Station (note the other end of Manhattan from the museums etc). Locally there are lots of shops (South Street Sea Port is a 5 minute walk), pharmacies and restaurants (Italian and Mexican also a Starbucks) and a Zagat rated deli/grocery store. The room is comfortably sized – not huge but certainly room enough for two with a safe, the bathroom was decently sized and beautifully furnished, great shower pressure. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I had a lovely stay, I would recommend it and I would stay there again. Only thing I would say is Gold street can be a little difficult to find (so print off a map before you leave) and that I did take a taxi back to the hotel late at night (c. $6 from China Town to the Hotel) as the subway is very quiet going into the financial district at that time – I try not to go onto/into deserted trains/areas when travelling in foreign countries. Overall a lovely hotel and a great stay.

For the rate we paid, we were fairly satisfied with Gild Hall. The room did not have simnple amenities such as a coffee maker or iron which was a little inconvenient. We did preview the higher priced suited during our stay and they were more roomy -- however very pricey. For the rate we had with Hotels.com, we can't complain.

If the rate is right when you book, a comfortable hotel and good location if you want to be in the Wall Street area. Postive: We were impressed with the staff -- across the board. Negative: The wall from the bedroom to the bathroom is glass -- so if the light is on, you see light and at least a shadow. Rooms a bit worn. But, we enjoyed our stay and will consider returning.

The hotel was super-sexy and a great price. Everything looks new, and the decor is pretty creative. My biggest complaint was that the lobby A/C was so cold. I would've gotten a drink at the bar, but it was ridiculously cold. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the choice of corrugated glass as a bathroom door/wall. Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but I don't like to see the silhouette of the person on the toilet. And I don't like all of the light that comes through the room from the bathroom when I'm trying to sleep.

relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, good restaurant on premises. Nice big, well decorated room, but bathroom door is totally transparent, and if you have three people in a two doubles room, this presents complications, such as in our case where a young adult son was staying with his parents. But I would stay there again, just with my husband, and avoid a room share situation.

I tnought this hotel was extremely pleasant and the staff were welcoming and friendly. It was smaller than I had imagined but that was plus for me as I much prefer hotels on a smaller scale. The room was very comfortable and clean. Only thing lacking was tea/coffee making facilities. I didn't venture into the bar but it was very trendy looking and had a nice vibe. I think this would be a 'don't miss' for the young executive traveller. Close to everything you would need and easy to get around. I felt very safe.

My wife and I went for a weekend without the kids to NYC. Gild Hall was perfect. Away from the too busy Times Square stuff and in the weekend the Financial District is quiet. Just a couple of blocks from Delmonico's a great steak house also recommended. The Staff at Guild Hall were friendly and helpful. Also close to the Brooklyn Bridge, we walked over it on Saturday, this was also recommended, and have a pie at Grimalds when you get to the other side. (Worth the wait.) Guild Hall was a great place to stay and the price was fantastic. The decor was still kind of new looking and my wife described it as having a kind of european hunter lodge as recreated by hgtv. Different but fun.

I took advantage of the reduced rates for the weekend at the Gild Hall which caters to business travelers. In exchange you get a larger, cleaner room at a great price. The catch is that business travelers pay for everything so no free Internet or free breakfast. I agree with previous reviewers that the glass bathroom door, although textured, reveals more then needs to be seen.

Nice location if you're doing business in Wall Street. Restaurant had decent food. Bar had Chimay. Nice Staff. Two standard complaints. Mini Bar prices are at terrorist level. (There is a level that is reasonable, a level that is high and a level that is to paraphrase Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop "Get the F*** out of here" $4 for a 12 oz diet coke? Really?) $10 per night for mediocre internet service is exorbitant. I really expect hotels to have service equal to my home internet (3MB) if they are charging me for it.
