Plaza Hotel and Casino - Las Vegas - Las Vegas 36.17162, -115.14638

This was our first time out to las vegas and decided on the plaza for its conveniet location to downtown vegas and the Fremont Street Experience, although cheap the hotel itself was an excellent place to stay and would be recommended to other first timers in vegas, the only downside i could find, was the manners of some the gaming staff members left a lot to bed desired, i made 2 official complaints during my 1 week stay with regards to a dealer and more dissapointingly a manager. to say that vegas prides itself as the gambling captial of the world i found overall a lot of the dealers not just in the plaza but in other casinos were very rude, they really need to brush up on their manners. as for location, well what can more can you ask for other than to see the fantastic lightshows outside your window every evening, and a handful of casino within a few minutes walk very easily accessible to all. taxi cabs to the strip usually cost around $20 $25 a time plus tip so didnt really get down there that often, i would recommend to others using the bus services close by.

This hotel is ridiculously cheap for what you get (and it has an 8 dollar buffet - cheapest in Vegas). The only downside is that is in the old downtown part of Vegas and you have to get a bus to go to the flashier parts of the Strip. However, the accommodation is very spacious, great views of Fremont Street and well worth the stay!

stayed in Room 1736 So Tower and it looked like room was resently refurbished, no reek of tobacco and everything in the room worked. Casino sections are closed off and new rugs being installed. Staff was great and food was good and not pricey.Stayed at Binions, Fremont and the Fitzs before and the Plaza is much better. Highly recommend unless you require the ambiance of the Mega hotels on the strip or the golden nugget.

Stayed in room 1736 south tower. The room seemed as thou it was recently painted and papered and furnitre not new but in good condition. No smell of tobacco in the room nor the hallway. No spill stains in the room but did see one in hallway. I did see sections of the hotel cordined off and upgrading of that area was in process. The food offered was very good and not pricey. The help from the maid to the front desk were very helpful and easy to communicate with. Would definately stay there again. Stayed at Binions,Fremont and the Fitz. and found the Plaza much the best.

I know it's only rated at 2.5 stars, but the bed shouldn't keep you awake all night. Need new beds or at least add-on pillow tops for the mattresses. You can feel every spring.

Hotel is a great budget buster mid-week but way over priced on weekends.

Odor of smoke in all hallways and rooms. Roomms need more electrical outlets so that one can connect computer etc. To charge for internet access? Breakfast buffet was very good!

This is not the newest property in Vegas by any means, but for the price I paid it was an absolute steal. The hotel is a little worn in places, but my room was comfortable, the games were fair, and the staff were nice throughout the property. Highly recommended to anyone who would appreciate old school Vegas.

The Hotel and Casino are nice for the money. The bathrooms in the South Tower are small though. My only draw back to here

The room had numerous stains on the floor, walls had dirt and other things dried and stuck on them, the ceilings had dirt stuck on them. The tv worked but had a 3 inch area through the middle that was fuzzy. The alarm clock didn't work, The pool was locked up and not usable. The matress was very thin and I could feel every spring. I needed to iron some clothes and the iron had melt stuff on the bottom. In all I found this hotel to be the worst I have ever stayed at and would recommend people to find something different.

Great value for the money. Big rooms.

FIVE ***** OUTSTANDING HOTEL

We're placed in a room on the south tower by the front desk clerk Stacy last Friday, Oct 16, 2009, I ask for at least a nice room but he said that well check this room and I hope that its nice if not let me know. The room smells muggy, beds sag, tv dont work, room amenities very poor, (at least we brought our own shampoo and bath soap),, beddings are old and with tear, the toilet dont flush good and it creates a noise, the room that were at, (room 1130) has an adjoiining door which the guests next door mostly males were loud., for the money that we paid, we can get a better facility in the area. Well, its an experience.

MAttresses and TV were old bathroom and bath tub are to small. This hotel doesn't appear to be modernized at all

Room reeked of smoke, though it was a non smoking room. Wall paper was peeling away from walls and there was mold throughout the room, as well as in the bathroom. Water was shut off the last day we were there, were told that we could use the bathrooms on the main casino floor (we wanted to shower before we were leaving for the airport)-front desk was unsympathetic. Bell Desk help was awesome, very helpful. Casino was not busy, which was a nice change of pace. Majority of the staff was friendly and helpful when we had questions. Firefly restaurant was AMAZING! I would recommend the casino and restaurant but not the hotel rooms.

Friendly staff, good location next to Fremont Street. Extremely slow parking garage elevator. Would book there again.

This is one of the oldest hotels in Las Vegas and it shows: Old carpet in the room that could use a good cleanup or replacement, a bathroom that could really use a massive facelift. The front desk staffs are far away from being friendly, especially if you interact with the night shift employees. Personally, I did not like the location. The hotel is located in the old down town of Las Vegas. Not close to the strip and the surrounding neighborhood is not something to write home about. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay and do not care about anything else –go ahead otherwise, for almost the same amount of money, you can find better places. And remember: What happens in Vegas appears on the next month bank statement!

It was cleaner than when I've stayed in the past and no noisy air conditioner. Of course something needed to be wrong - dripping tub spout

This is our second stay at this hotel and this time we found the room in need of some repairs. Our toilet was plugged, the t.v. remote did not work, then the hair dryer blew out and during the night we heard a big "thud" and found that the tissue containue that was supposed to be attached to the wall, was not and fell to the ground. So rooms could use a little update. We will probably try a different hotel next time we visit.

I have to admit, I had mixed expectations about this reservation after reading the previous reviews. However, after a three night stay, I would definitely return the next time I'm in town. Everything was better than I expected.

The foucet in the buthtub was leaking.I reporterd,It was not fixed during the time I was there.

This hotel lacked friendly service. Several hotel staff members told me they could not help me or that my needs were not their problem. The room were dirty and housekeeping staff did not clean the room even when asked to. The beds were so uncomfortable all the free drinks in the world would not help you sleep. The people at the front desk were down right rude. The Omlete House Diner's waitress and manager did not care if you enjoyed your meal or not. This hotel was so bad I would not stay there again even if the rooms were free. If your looking for good service try the Golden Nugget.

So I'll be the first to admit that for the price, I suppose we should have expected as much. But it's really the little things, like a bath tub that won't drain, no hot water on the facet and a tv with a distorted picture. We called down to have the tub fixed twice and it was never taken care of. Other than that the casino drinks were reasonably priced, so I suppose it wasn't awful on that account. And the pool is pretty nice too, up on the 7th floor with tennis courts etc. Just wish that had been advertised so I could have brought a racket and a bathing suit.

We like staying at the plaza hotel make sue you ask for the freemont experance room they are the best

For an older hotel, the rooms were very clean and we had a non-smoking room that for once didn't smell like an old smoking room. All of the front desk and hosuekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. We spent a lot of time in the pool area and that was great. The non-chain restaurant in the hotel was very good.

Staying downtown was such a refreshing change from the fake glitz of the Strip. The Plaza was a really nice hotel at a great price.

It was in the perfect location. The room was clean and a good size. The eating possibilities in the hotel were great, from McDonald's to a nice sit down restaurant. It was a great room for the price.

it was a good stay although the smell of cigarette was very strong due to the casino, but so far was fun, for the price this hotel has it all.

THE HOTEL WAS OK, WE BOOKED A 1 BEDROOM SUITE, AND WERE UPGRADED TO A PENTHOUSE, AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. I WILL STAY THERE AGAIN, IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT.

I book hotel when I have the money to do so on Hotels.com. When I book there is a promise of $20 slot credit. Hotel did not give to me last night because they say there rule is only 5 credits allowed. What a rip off.

the room we got was the cheapest that i had found online and we basically just needed a place to sleep so i wasnt expecting much but i was completely surprised the room was very spacious with a great view, the fremont experience is literally just outside the main entrance,the buffet was really good and you cant beat their bloody marys!, all staff i came in contact with were extremley polite and helpful unlike most vegas hotels and parking was free all in all when we go back to vegas we will be staying at the plaza

Needs Improvement

Hotel is across from Fremont Street Experience and a place to sleep and shower; room had a nice view of the strip however the nicotine level was disgusting and the room was run down. Got what I paid for, but would not stay there again.

we didn't get the room we ordered the first night(king non-smoking)... insted recieved two double beds in a room fit for a bum, we were able to get the king non-smoking room the next morning that we kept for the 2 remaining nights... it was a much nicer room (less stains on everthing) comparable to any average hotell and was in the NORTH tower, which seemed to be NEWER and NICER..overall a good deal and i enjoyed the fremont experiance right out my front door.. FYI it cost around $20-$25 for a cab ride to the new strip

cheap hotel with very old decor. The casino smells like an ashtray and in the rooms everything is faded or stained. To check in we had to wait in line for 10 minutes. And the clothes left of the bed were thrown into a corner on the floor by the housekeeping staff after they had cleaned the room, which to me seemed rude. Not going back. For the same price the California Hotel is better.

My stay there was fun. However, I didn't like how you have to walk past the bus station where there were questionable people to walk to the hotel. But the night life was a blast! A bonus was being right across the street from the action.

I am alergic to smoke and requested non-smoking but got a smoking room. the furnishings are old and the whole corrider reaked of smoke!
