"very comfortable hotel"
We were pleased with our stay. The room we stayed in was 100% but we were sorry that it wasn't nearer to the strip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"They did a nice job updating the hotel"
I stayed here a few years ago and the place was run down. Now they refreshed the rooms and casino and they did a nice job. The rooms are large but the bathroom is small. All depends on how much you spend in the room anyhow. For me it was just right.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was our 2nd stay at the hotel; first experience was great! However, the 2nd time was not. When we checked in the room was DIRTY, so we went downstairs to advise the front desk and they put us in a different room which was DIRTIER than the first room. I was very frustrated at this point going back down to front desk for a 3rd time (with our luggage) […] the manager apologized and gave a lame excuse that the rooms were "marked" clean when they were not done yet....that was not true, as we could clearly see that the housekeepers had "cleaned" the rooms. The upgraded us to a jr suite, which was better. As well our first morning there the housekeeper was banging at our door at 8am and acted surprised when I came to the door half asleep and showed her we had the do not disturb sign up. We won't be staying here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Booking had nothing to do with it they are very understaffed at the front desk it took 45 mins to ck in with only three people in front of us the room walls need to be painted there were scrapes all over the place we tried calling the front desk to ck out with a long wait And no answer to go to the lobby and find the front desk was not busy helping […] anyone other wise the location across from freemont st is perfect Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great For Exploring Downtown Las Vegas"
I didn't have any problems with parking or checking in. The hotel staff acted efficiently and pleasantly. My room was very spacious, cool and clean. No problems with wifi in the room. I loved that I could grab breakfast in the lobby. The Plaza is only steps from exploring downtown Las Vegas, especially the Fremont Street Experience. I would stay here […] again if I come back to Las Vegas. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Room itself was great-- service was NOT."
After reading several negative reviews about the state of the Plaza (renovations, cleanliness, out of date, etc), we were very surprised and happy with our room. It was spacious, clean, newly decorated and very comfortable. Other than a mysterious towel that may or may not have been missed by the cleaning staff from the previous guests, I would say […] it was close to perfect. BUT THEN: the service at this place was awful. To make a long and stupidly tedious story short-- I called the front desk with a question about our room. After being on hold for a half hour, I hung up and called the bell desk. They told me they would have the manager call my room right away. I waited and waited, and never heard anything. I called the front desk again, where the phone was promptly answered, but was rudely told the manager was unavailable. I was then transferred to the manager's (a woman named Heather) voicemail. I left a message with my room number and cell phone, asking for her to please give me a call. Three days later-- and I still haven't heard anything. It's very disappointing that a manager/hotel that is trying to boost their outdated image thinks so poorly of their guests that once they have their money, they feel as if they owe them nothing else. I love Downtown and will be taking my business back to the Golden Nugget for all future stays. So disappointing. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Ok but the service sucked and maid service was bad. Stayed 3 nights and our room got cleaned once. Bath tub in the rooms didnt drain well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Spend a few more dollars for a better time."
I went to Vegas to not spend time in my room. However, during my stay at The Plaza Hotel and Casino, the first impression it left me was horrible. At the beginning, they wanted to charge me to check in early, second, the staff is unionized, which to me, is the death of American business and manufacturing. There were people there to help me but because […] they were unionized, the free people couldn't help me. We I finally got to my room, later that night when I came back from a night in the town, I accidentally kicked the AC unit and all this dust and lint flew EVERYWHERE! I called the front desk and they told me to leave my door open until housekeeping arrives. First of all, keeping the door open is unsafe and anyone can just come in and kill me, if I had kids in that room, it would have been even worse. I kept the door open for 3 hours and no one showed up. Initially, I asked the front desk if I can change room; he said no. Maybe in the morning. So the next morning, I changed rooms but had to wait until the standard check-in/check-out time. You'd think, these people would be jumping through hoops to keep me happy, but nope, not one bit. I didn't even get an upgrade,a sorry, nor a comp to any place in their facility. Spend the extra dollars and go somewhere else. Please do yourself a favor and listen to me. I worked in a Casino for 6 years and this would have never happened! Never. No one who works there care about this old run down Hotel and Casino. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but plumbing not good"
We had a nice stay for an overnighter but there was NO hot water in the bathroom sink and there was NO water at all in the shower/bath tub. We came back really late and was unable to take a shower because of no hot water and in the morning it was the same way. It was too late to call and have someone fix it but I did let them know when we checked out. […] I am surprised the maid did not say something when she cleaned up. We ended up taking "sponge" baths with COLD WATER from the sink. NOT FUN Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Las Vegas Fremont St"
Room was large and clean and had a great view of the area next to Fremont St. The room was furnished nicely. Walls need to be painted but otherwise everything else was fine. Our walk to Fremont Street was quick and easy. We rode the lower zip line which is a quick and fun ride. Lots to see on Fremont St.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Stay Will Stay Again"
The stay was nice and for a good price but valet took forever to get our ticket and car not happy with that but o well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was clean, but didn't appreciate house cleaning stealing our change that we had accumulated throughout our stay. Sure it was only maybe $3 worth, but really? That's very tacky.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Plaza is a good choice"
I thought it was a nice stay. Very clean. The towels are nice and everything was fine. This place was remodeled and it is a good price so I would recommend to friends who are on a budget and want to be near Freemont it does get loud and the sun seem to come up at 6 am. "If you achieve the right expectations, it's 5 star"
We got exactly what we signed up for - seedy old Vegas, smoky lobby with warn-out carpets, long check-in/check-out lines, 70s room decor... We stayed in the Venecian on the strip the first couple days, then the Plaza in downtown as we wanted to experience the full Vegas contrasts. Boy did we get what we bargained for - we got more! "Great Vegas Trip"
I had a great time in Vegas. I love Fremont St. so the location was great. The hotel was a little dated but that's genuinely the only complaint I have. I live/work in Death Valley which is only 2.5 hours away so I stay in Vegas quite a bit. Not the greatest hotel but definitely not the worst!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

And i did not like that we needed to make the se huge line to check out too . They need to put more ppl at the counter . Other than that the hotel and room where excellentGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Easy. Everything was easy. I was simply needing a place to stay overnight. I did not leave the property and got going once I woke up. Check in was simple, elevators up to the room right by the front desk. My floor was quiet and my room was clean and had everything I needed. The plaza remodel couple years ago came out nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good value"
Have stayed here many times and housekeeping and desk staff have improved over previous visits. Unfortunately, several of the businesses inside have shut down. You'll get more than you pay for overall, but expect a mid-level experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wouldn't stay again"
Not happy and would not stay here again even for free. Friday after midnight we went the the players reward area to get a card. They were closed. On a Friday night in Las Vegas??? We were told we could get a players card from one of the bit bosses near the tables. When we asked they said everyone was to busy and we'd have to try later. (It wasn't crowded). […] There was a band playing and I went to the bar to get a drink. That was a 20 minute wait. 2 bartenders for the whole south tower. Our tub was backed up, couldn't get help, took a shower in 6 inches of water. Upon departure called bellhop to bring luggage down he said when we were ready to leave we could give valet our claim ticket and they would get the bags for us. At valet they were rude and would not call for our bags. We had to go back in, cross the casino only to wait in a line to get our bags. Next trip I'd spend the extra $100 for a room to get some kind of service.. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I love Freemont Street. And this hotel is in the perfect location to bounce around Freemont and stumble back to your room when you're done. only issue was check in took 30 mins! come onGenuine Hotels.com guest review
At 1am we returned to our door to find it locked...from the inside. The front desk said that the yellow lights flashing when we inserted our cards indicated that the deadbolt was in use. With all of us outside the room we were confused and asked for new cards to see if that made a difference. The new cards did not work either. We called to have maintenance […] come up and take a look, they arrived 20 minutes after the request. He pulled out a metal wire and tried to unbolt the door for another 20 minutes with no success. He called for the security supervisor to come up and at about 2am he was able to use his emergency key to unlock the door. The whole time we were asking how is it possible for a deadbolt to be in use if nobody is in the room? How is that even possible? The security supervisor shrugged and said it wasn't possible. Throughout the whole time, there were no apologies, no explanations, but it was implied to us that we had done something wrong even though their door locks were malfunctioning. After complaining to the front desk they agreed to a longer check out time and to remove the "resort" fee. We left the hotel around 2pm the next day and upon checking the receipt, they had included the resort fee...do not stay here. Ridiculous customer service...I will get a refund for my stay Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Still The Best"
The PLAZA continues to be the best facility, best service, location, and gaming. Downtown is far more fun than the Strip, and from the PLAZA you can walk to all parts of it. My only disappointment was that the Hawaiian Sushi Bar was not open.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The room was priced fairly on the internet. But then when you check in they slap another 12 dollars resort fee and charge $50 extra dollars on your credit card for "incidentals"!! I would prefer knowing what i have to pay up front. I left my phone charger in the room and of course when i called the next day " no one had turned it in".Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a great hotel if you are going to Freemont Street to gamble and drink....rooms bed is comfortable not scared of the cleanliness...but really all about location....the only downfall is if you have a car you pay for parking and the resort fee of $12 seems steep for just internet but we will be back since there are some smoking deals which makes […] up for that!
