For the money, for it being Chicago, for it being downtown Chicago the accommodation was acceptable. The staff mostly made up for any concerns about the location and the room was clean.

I was looking for a hotel near downtown, decent quality and a decent price. It appeared as though this was the best option - a median price for downtown and decent reviews. Overall I was satisfied with the hotel, a little pricey for me - but typical of Chicago. Contrary to what many reviews say, the pizza place in the hotel was horrible, and that is being polite. I would not reccomend it.

The staff at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites in Chicago were great! Resturant service was a little slow. We were able to take a cab to the Field Museum/Shed Aquarium then walk to Michigan Ave., Millinium Park, The Willis Tower then about 3 blocks to the hotel. A very nice weekend for us. The kids loved the pool on the roof!

We stayed here to be close to our son during a visit. The neighborhood is not good to walk around in at night, I could hear arguing on the outdoor parking lot. It is not in the downtown area proper, so you need to take a cab most places. Rooms were OK, they were clean. The front staff was very helpful.

You can't ask for a more convenient location if you're traveling to or from Union Station. It's only about 3 blocks away. It's also only one block from a blue line train stop for convenient travel to outer areas. The hotel itself was pretty good, especially for the money. Nothing fancy, but s spacious and clean room, friendly staff, and a restaurant attached to the hotel. They even called after we checked in to make sure everything in the room was up to standards. Would definitely stay here again.

I was a little nervous when I pulled up to this hotel because of the neighborhood. However once inside the service was wonderful and the rooms were clean and updated. My room had a nice down comforter and a flat screen TV which made the stay more comfortable. The exterior could use some updating. The website also made it appear that parking is included. It is NOT and it is $30 to use the hotel parking because it is valet only. There is a city lot for $18 but it didn't look safe enough for a single woman to be coming and going from her car.

This was my first stay on both accounts. Ive never stayed overnight in Chicago and Ive never booked a room at any Holiday Inn. I loved the price, it fitted into my budget. I had to book 3 rooms for my family and guests. Everything was done on the phone as we were driving from Michigan to Chicago. Then upon arrival the front desk were very pleasant. The rooms were very very comfortable and clean. My husband loved the flat screen HD TVs. The location was close to downtown and the places we wanted to visit. And the best part was one of our guests had forgotten and left her baggage in the hotel lounge. I called and spoke to the staff. They were very helpful. They found the lost bag and the hotel supervisor made sure the bag was sent back to me without any additional cost from me. I really really appreciated that. Thank you.

Having stayed in other Chicagoland Holiday Inns in the past, it's really hit and miss in terms of ownership and quality. But this Holiday Inn stay was fantastic. It was extremely clean, well managed, top quality furniture and bedding with a super comfortable bed, free parking (which is extremely rare in downtown Chicago), and included a $20 voucher for breakfast in the morning. The only things negative I possibly could say was that my TV didn't work and it was a little noisy during checkout time because my room was next to the elevator. They offered to change my room to fix the TV situation, but I declined and was happy do my research and scouting out restaurants to visit on the free wireless Internet connection. I would definitely recommend this Holiday Inn again, and plan to stay there on every visit to Chicago I make.

First, the lot was full so I had to find self-parking. Next, the associate behind the counter was (or at least acted) very inexperienced at his job. Checking in was far more painful and time consuming than it needed to be considering the lobby wasn't busy. The room rate was quite high, yet alone for a weeknight. The room showed its age, but at least was clean. The walls were paper thin and I got to know the people in the surrounding rooms more than I would've ever liked. Finally, I was double charged for the room and am still, a week later, trying to get them to acknowledge it and sort it out. I would not suggest this hotel to anyone!

We waited for 2 1/2 hours to check in and was still not able to get into our room. Then 4 women had to get ready in the Penthouse (were the pool is) in a small restroom. We went to our concert then couldn't get a cab anywhere on Michigan Ave. afterwards. We had to walk all the way back at 11:30 pm! Then finally got our room keys at 12:30.
