This was the 4th time we've stayed here and we will again. It is not the "lap of luxury" but it's OK. The room rates are not super low but they're fair. The food is not amazing but it is good, and reasonably priced. The room was clean and we had a good night's sleep. There is enough of a variety of gaming for our wishes. The staff didn't gush and fawn all over us but they were all polite and answered any questions we had professionally. It is the perfect "bridge" between our timeshares in Arizona and Vegas. I'll be booking here two months ahead of time next year!

"A Driver's Dream-when you have a car in Las Vegas"Reviewed by John of "Winnipeg, MB" on Jan 29, 2012
I have stayed here before when I attended a workshop was at a nearby hotel. I chose Terrible's because of the following: it was well priced, the parking is convenient and close to access doors (without a long walk), the rooms are well away from the casino, and after checking in, you don't ever have to go to the casino if you don't want to. The hotel is a little older so rooms are bigger than some of the new places of today. Furnishings are comfortable, including new queen beds and lcd tv. What I particularly like is how you can drive in, park, access the door, get on the elevator and get up to your room so easily. It makes it so convenient to use the car and the proximity to a major intersection (Paradise and Flamingo) makes it easy to head in any direction as soon as you leave the parking lot. Food in the restaurant and buffet is located on the second floor next to each other and is well worth what they charge. There are great food deals here. The place has a small outdoor pool and garden area inside the quad of the hotel. Since it is surrounded by the four walls of the buildings, it is a quiet oasis to enjoy in the sun shine (like with late morning coffee). Some of the public areas look like they could use a good scrub, but I could let that slide because of all of the other positives this place has to offer.
"Far Away"Reviewed by Phil of "Vancouver, Canada" on Jan 28, 2012
This hotel is far away from the strip (approx 6 miles) You can ride a shuttle to the strip that costs almost 50% of your room rate for two people per day. (it used to be free) You must therefore add this to your total cost. In addition the in room internet amounts to a third of your room rate per day. The internet at the business center is very very slow, and therefore costly. The good thing here is that there is no resort fee....yipee. There were a few small issues with the room, however they were too minor to mention.

Rejuvenate at the Golden Nugget Spa and Salon. Signature packages, such as the Organic Seaweed Body Wrap and the Ultimate Unwind (a salt scrub and steam infusion) offer sensual treats--as do the manicures, pedicures, and hair styling. You can de-stress in the sauna, spa tub, or steam room. Or hit the spacious fitness center, equipped with cardio and strength-training machines and free weights (use of the fitness center is complimentary with a spa treatment).

The neon, twinkling lights of vintage Vegas are on full display downtown at the Fremont Street Experience, a five-block area that features a few of the city’s longest-operating casinos, a pedestrian mall, and an overhead electronic canopy for laser and light shows. Downtown Las Vegas also houses city hall, the 18b Arts District, and a large outlet mall.

We enjoyed our stay at the Nugget very much. Lots of windows making it a very bright environment. Nothing worse than feeling like your in a black hole. The waterslide thru the tank was awesome for the kids!! Enjoyed the shopping and staff were very friendly.

"The GN in Las Vegas"
Haven't stayed in this hotel for a number of years. The staff and help were helpful and accomadating. We usually go to Vegas once a year and have stayed in different hotels. This will once again be one of our favorites.
"Rush Tower is nice."
Stayed at the Rush Tower and the fully renovated and updated rooms are very nice. Friends were in the other towers and were not as impressed due to the age and condition of some of the rooms.
"Golden Nugget"
If you want to stay on freemont street I think this is the only nicest hotel. It was great for the money and clean the only problem staying on freemont street is don't go far off alone the creapy people come out. Freemont street is a blast on Friday and Saturday nights!

We stayed in the Rush Tower which has it`s own separate Check-in (only found this out after lining up for 1/2 hour at the main check-in !) Modern & comfortable room. Great restaurants & large casino. Best hotel on Freemont Street. Loved the huge aquariums and pool slide.

Love the low key atmosphere of this hotel, maid service was excellent, always greeted with a friendly 'good morning how are you?' Cleanliness was excellent, room was great- elevators fast, good variety of shops Easy access to Freemont Street, always something interesting to see there :) Loved the fish everywhere, in the pool and behind the rush tower […] check in....loved watching them swim when I was in the pool! "Golden Nugget Hotel has very good location"
We really like this hotel, even if it's not located close to the strip, for us was better since Fremont St. has a lot to see, music, a lot of entertainment. We bought bus passes for 24 hrs. ($7) and it was very convenient for us, the bus takes only 15 - 20 min. The pool is beautiful. the buffet is good also.
"Golden Nugget - Great if you don't want the strip"
Carson tower was cheapest rooms but it was the nicest room we been in so far. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Very relaxing downtown. Gave us the top floor strip view without asking or tipping. Shark tank is neat but a very small pool. Breakfast buffet was good with 2 for 1 otherwise overpriced.
"Great Beds!!"
The bed was fantastic! could be the most comfortable bed I've slept in! The hotel is great and freemont is a good time! It feels more like a block party that everyone is invited to, vs the big casinos on the strip. Plus you can visit the convenience store and buy a beer for $2 or water for 99 cents. If you go to vegas often give freemont a try, it;s […] pretty fun. We were there for a concert, so the Golden Nugget was convenient to our venue, but we all agreed after many visits to Vegas freemont was the most fun. My room at the nugget was comparable to the rooms I had stayed in Mandalay Bay or Planet Hollywood. Read more

"Golden Nugget Las Vegas"
Stayed in the Rush Towers, a little more expensive but well worht the extra cost. The room was luxurious and it was nice to stay downtown rather than the strip for a change. Checkout was slow as only 1 clerk on the desk at 11:00 am when everyone is trying to checkout.
"GN vegas good time! Liked the strip to!"
Stayed from April 9 to April 12. We had to move out of our time share at 10am on the 9th and we were a little nervous about getting to the GN early but we were checked into our rooms by 11:15. We could'nt get on the same floor as the couple we were with but getting checked in early was a great. The buffett was convenient so we ate there a couple of times […] during our 3 days. The food was fine and the staff were easy going and polite. The pool was incredible with the shark aquarium we had to do the waterslide and Freemont street is great the good time atmosphere is really something. 21st floor of the Rush tower has a great view. 10 days in vegas went to just about every hotel/casino on the strip and downtown never had a bad experience everyone was helpful and curtious. It's a very busy where-ever you go. Read more
"Pleasantly Suprised"
Having heard some bad things about OTHER hotels in the Fremont District I was a little concerned about staying here despite the generally positive reviews. We were very Pleasantly suprised how great the Golden Nugget is. They have done an awesome job of keeping the "old school" feel but in a very attractive, new, and interesting manner. This Hotel is […] a great place to stay in the Fremont district and the area has such great history everyone should stay in this area at least once. Read more
"Spectacular light show"
Valet parking was great. Bell hop was very efficient - suggested we go around to the other tower - Gold - which was closer to the one we were staying in because the check-in at that one was quicker. Brittany ( at desk ) was polite, efficient and helpful. Room was large, well appointed, quiet. Buffet was amazing - great price - huge selection. Check […] out was quick and efficient. It was a treat to have someone else take care of the suitcases, bring the car around and in general make you feel like you were important. The covered walk way with the light show was spectacular. We spent hours on the street watching all the side-shows and the light show. We liked the ambience - didn't feel much like gambling but enjoyed just walking around the casino. Unfortunately we were there on a Sunday so missed the Gordie Brown show. We were there right after the NASCAR racing was over and so there were lots of fans around - lots of fun Read more
"Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, Nevada"
The Golden Nugget is the best hotel in the Downtown Area (actually in all of Las Vegas as far as we are concerned! and we go every 2 years, sometimes every year!) The rooms are great and very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. If there are shows to see, or sights to go to you can get all the info and tickets right there on the site!! […] The staff will go out of their way to help you have a great stay in Vegas. We always tell people we stay here and a few have gone and thanked us alot for the heads up on where to stay! Even this last visit friends of ours from here at home came to the NUGGET and they told us they loved it there!!! There are numerous restaurants in the hotel that serves various different dishes, it would be difficult for even the pickiest people NOT to find something they want to eat in this Hotel! We have stayed on the Strip in the past (pre 1990) but we prefer The Nugget as our home away from home and just go visit the strip a few times during our stay in Vegas. The only other possible improvement I could see to the Hotel, is, if they put coffee pots in the rooms, just to use for a quick coffee while you get ready in the mornings to start your day off!! THE GOLDEN NUGGET ROCKS! Read more

"Golden Nugget in Las Vegas"
I was a little hesitant about this hotel as I left booking a hotel late with the largest convention in Vegas going on! There were only a few hotel rooms left on the strip and they were going for inflated prices and a few rooms over in the Downtown area. I read some very good reviews about the Golden Nugget and booked there Junior Corner Rush Tower Room. […] When we arrived, we were upgraded! What a room! King size bed with a corner sectional area to watch t.v., ottoman to put your feet up! 2 t.v.'s, a dining table for 4 people. The bathroom had 2 sink areas - split between a HUGE deep bathtub. Walkin closet, private toilet and a walkin shower. The hotel provides a wheelchair for no charge, should you need one (to remain on property) or they will rent an electric chair for a nominal charge. We really enjoyed our stay, slots weren't too busy, so it was easy to find "the lucky one!" We enjoyed Carson Street Cafe for breakfast and lunch. We tried the buffet on a Friday night when it was their "Seafood night". It was not for us, at all! The fresh crab was not so fresh, buns, cornbread, pre-cut desserts, were stale (hard on the outside from being cut so early and then left out under the heat lamps for so long). Now just because WE didn't like it, didn't stop others from enjoying the crab. People were loading up their plates numerous times, so I am not sure what to say, maybe we just got a couple of crabs that were "off"??? All in all, we will book this hotel again. Freemont street is a blast! It's a different experience from the strip and one not to be missed! Read more
"Nicer than many on the strip."
VEry nice room. we stayed at the Flamigo on the strip and this room was much more modern. Everything was great. Will definately stay again!
"The Golden Negget Hotel & Casino in Las Vages"
It is an excellent place to stay. Every night is Christmas night. There are so many events and shows going on right outside the hotel. However, the hotel room is quite and the comfortable. The restaurants server good food too.
"A Golden experince in Downtown Las Vegas"
This trip we spent 4 nights on the strip and wanted 2 nights to experience Freemont St. I chose the Golden Nugget partly because of the reality tv show from a few years ago and partly because of the new Rush Tower rooms (2009) and the pool with the waterslide through the shark tank (The Tank). We were not disapointed. Getting to downtown from the strip […] with luggage is best done by taxi. If you take Las Vegas Blvd instead of the freeway you get to see more of the area such as the Stratosphere and all of the wedding chappels. We were advised that when spending time downtown we should not venture off Freemont St because the surrounding area can be a little sketchy. During the day we felt perfectly comfortable. The check-in was slower then expected, but with no issues. The rooms in the Rush Tower were just as nice as rooms we have had at Mandelay Bay and the Wynn for half the price. All are non-smoking, have large modern bathrooms, desk, seating area and LCD tv. I suggest getting a room as high as you can to avoid noise from the street and the pool as well as to take advantage of the view. Some lower rooms look into a parking garage. Our room was on the south side of the 21st floor and had a great view of the mountains and back to the strip. We could see north strip resorts such as Ti, Wynn and Trump as well as a birds eye view of some of the pool area. Very nice. Other guests told us the basic rooms were nice and clean but not very large. We didn't see them so can't comment. The pool is great. We were there in September with temperatures in the high nineties this area is surrounded by buildings and must be air conditioned because it was much more refreshing in that area. There is a bar for drinks, a few card tables, plenty of lounge chairs and several sectionals/chairs for hanging out. We had no problem getting a place to sit and store out stuff. The main attraction is the shark and fish tank right in the middle of the pool, you can't miss it. The waterslide runs r Read more
"One night stay in Vegas"
We had booked a 3 night package deal to Vegas, and then after, did 3 days of touring around the grand canyon. We planned to return the night before our flight out, and decided on the Golden Nugget, as we had not experienced that part of Vegas. We were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was and wished we could somehow stay longer! Our room was beautiful, […] we were able to get an adjoining room with our friends, the buffet was awesome! We didnt get to use the pool because of lack of time, but it looked beautiful. We will definitely book here again, decided Fremont street was very nice, didnt have all those nasty ticket snappers in your face everywhere! We loved it. Read more
"Off the strip"
As I was only staying in Las Vegas for a night decided to try the Freemont experience and chose the Golden Nugget. It was a great location for the price. The room was spacious. Freemont Street is an interesting destination and if you want to goto the strip it is easy enough to take the bus which travels quite frequently. Also it is cheaper to take […] the shuttle bus from the hotel to the airport than a taxi. Read more
"Bath Tub Overshadowed a good stay"
First of all, the bed was really comfortable. Room bigger than a standard hotel room (we stayed in the Carson Tower). But, when I got up in the morning to shower, the drain was plugged and there was some standing water in the tub. So, that was no good. Ate at Lillie's, which is good and fun at the grill. Will return, it's the nicest place downtown, […] but that annoyed me.... Read more
"golden nuggett"
great hotel but service is bad. Each morning someone employed by the hotel was knocking on my door before 9 am...either house cleaning or someone wanting to change the filters in the ac. I called to tell the manger but no one has returned my call and it has been over 8 days. I will stay somewhere else next time just because they don't seem to care.
"Amazing New Year at Golden Nugget"
We had a great time. Hotel staff and Casino staff were very helpful even though the New Years crowd was huge. We saw Gordie Brown, a must see performance... fun night. Gabriel Gifford and her Astronaut husband, Mark Kelly sat two rows up. A very surreal experience.

"Golden Nugget in vegas"
We liked the hotel, but the pool was closed way too early. We have 2 teens and found the ammentities for them were very restricted. The casino attendants were really bossy. My kids couldnt even to stand and watch us play a game.

"perfect"
I have stayed here before, but this time was even nicer room. The room had a large flat screen TV and was very clean and orderly.
"Nice room but...."
We asked for a room close to the elevator but still had to walk down a long hall way to the last room there. Nice room but dont gamble there, you wont even come close to winning anything.
"The Golden Nugget - Affordable and very nice"
Just stayed here one night as a stop-over to get to Utah, but I enjoyed this place. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Considering how old this place is, it is very well kept and has been nicely updated. Fremont street after hours seems a little seedy though. As long as you're in the hotel, you'll be fine.
"Great, Affordable Casino Hotel"
The hotel is very nice and was decently priced. The location is good as well. Outstanding quality, service and environment for the price. The restaurant was mediocre but did not detract from the overall hotel experience. Best "reduced priced" hotel in Vegas. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
Staying downtown at the Golden Nugget was a very pleasant experience. I will definitely stay there again. There's so much going on downtown that I did not feel a need to go to the strip.
