"It is what it is."
It's a Holiday Inn Express next to an Interstate junction. The hotel is quiet, reasonably well located for access to Vermont and New Hampshire areas, but is limited by local facilities. The nearest town is Springfield, VT about 3 miles away and is an industrial town that has seen better days. The hotel facilities are good if you wish to take advantage […] of the gym and pool but the buffet breakfast only rated as acceptable. The staff were friendly and helpful. "Une odeur me direz-vous ?"
Il ne faut pas se laisser berner par le hall d'entre., puisque vous serez accueillie par une odeur d'humidité. De plus je comprends pourquoi il n'y a pas de photo de la salle de bain sur le site de réservation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We stayed here to visit family. Rooms are clean with nice amenities. Everything works! The breakfast has it all-can't imagine what else could be provided-eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, cold cereals and more! The housekeeping and breakfast room staff are kind and helpful. Kudos to them! Because the Holiday Inn is about the only game in town, the price is twice as much as it should be. Reserve early to get some reductions.
"Quiet hotel location."

Spent a night here on our road trip. The hotel is situated just off the main route a discern quietly situated. The room was very large and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is quite big and we wondered if the small dining area would be big enough for breakfast but it was fine, more of an issue if the place was full I suspect. Food was the usual free breakfast which was fine and constantly being replenished by the friendly staff. Overall a good place to stay.

The Holiday Inn Express was a perfect overnight stay after a long, fun day at Harpoon Octoberfest. We were in a second floor room facing the woods, next to the stairwell. We were a little concerned that a room abutting the stairwell would be noisy, but our concern was unfounded. The rooms appeared to be recently renovated. Very clean and quiet. Our room was a single queen. The bed was soft, comfortable. The hotel is right off the highway, very convenient. Breakfast was tasty. Bacon, sausage, eggs, toaster French toast, biscuits, fruit, coffee and juice. We will stay there again.
"$250/Night?? Rip off even in foliage season"
10/12/14 Jerry C The Villages, Florida
Stayed 10/10. Have stayed at this hotel several times previously at literally half the price. We were in the area to attend a funeral, not to see the foliage, but had no choice since this is the only decent hotel in the area. But I'm sure management shared the extra fees with hotel staff. Greed had no part in it... Check in was fine and there was plenty of free parking. However, there is nothing else in the area. The nearest restaurants are over 5 miles away. We stayed on the 2nd floor - no elevator in our part of the building. At our age, lugging suitcases up the stairs was challenging. There were lots of cobwebs covering the outside of the window area. Room was fine with average comfort beds, clean sheets, a small fridge, a large TV and wifi worked well. The bathroom is small with counter only the width of the sink so little space to put your "stuff". Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. Breakfast was typical Holiday Inn and nothing more than that. Guess charging what the market will bear is normal business practice, but seems morally wrong - unless the staff got their share of the windfall. LOL...

My dad and I stayed two nights while taking in the Windsor Mac and Cheese Challenge. The hotel was great, clean with many breakfast choices. There is a common area with a pool table and arcade games. It is a little far from restaurants but the staff can recommend good ones in the area.
"Great room,great service"

The rooms were clean, spacious and beds very comfortable with 4 pillows per bed. No noticeable smell at all as previously mentioned in a room. The breakfast was better than average for a free buffet breakfast. There were certainly plenty of healthy choices . The staff were all helpful and accommodating .I highly recommend it.
"Much nicer than expected"

Te room was much nicer than I had expected after reading all the reviews. It was very new and clean including the bathroom and the other facilities. I was o the second floor and have no complaints whatsoever. I did not partaker of the free breakfast, but it did seem a bit small for most of the Holiday Inn Express hotels I have stayed in. The coffee was good though! The front desk staff was informative, friendly and helpful. Overall, a good stay at a nice place.
The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The staff was always so sweet and accommodating in every way. Always smiling and saying hello when we passed. They make you feel like family. The breakfast was always prepared and presented lovely. Beds super comfortable and slept like babies. The kids loved the pool also. Over all it's a VERY clean and presentable hotel and we will be back as soon as we return to the area :-)
"Musty Smell and Mediocre Breakfast"
09/09/14 Susan Z Fairfield, Connecticut
Stayed here one night while visiting an old friend of my husband's who lived nearby on our way home from a vacation in Canada. Was shocked by the price of $180/night in an off season time in the middle of Vermont. We went at the end of August - not ski season, not leaf season so we couldn't understand why it was so high. It is not far from Okemo Mt. so that may have had something to do with the price. However, it was the best choice for the area for the type of hotel we prefer so we went with it. The room was clean and spacious and the hotel was actually rather nice overall. The room was quiet and the beds fairly comfortable. However, when we entered the room it smelled very musty and almost moldy. I am rather sensitive to the smell normally and I have to admit it didn't bother my husband. I dealt with it but in the morning mentioned it to the front desk. They apologized and then went to credit us $100 off our bill. I wasn't expecting it nor did we ask for any kind of refund. We were grateful for the credit, but wondered if they were having an issue with other rooms that made them respond so easily. Breakfast was free. It was a typical free breakfast at this kind of hotel which meant it wasn't very good. The best parts were the yogurt, fruit and cinnamon rolls. I guess you can't be too picky if it is free. The staff was very nice and accommodating and the stay was overall fine. However, I have to admit that only having to pay $80 made it a lot more pleasant. The location is ideal, right off of I91 so it made for a very convenient place to stay.
"A Pleasant Surprise"

We stayed at the Holiday Inn from July 25 to July 27 this year and had a very pleasant stay. The hotel has been updated and is both very comfortable and mostly quiet, except for the side door on the first floor. The breakfast is very good. The person in charge of keeping the breakfast items coming, Debbie, is very efficient and very helpful and accommodating. Since we attend the astronomy gathering, Stellafane, every year, we will definitely be coming back to this hotel in the future.
