We we highly impressed by the value we received for our money. The hot breakfast was unexpectedly excellent even though it was made ahead of time. I checked in ,went to my room,looked around.there were black marks on all of the wall. The carpet was stained, all over. The bed mattress had holes in them. The tub was not clean. The stay was just ok; would have been better if i got the room i reserved and paid for ahead of time. I specifically ordered a smoking room wich was an option on hotels.com. But when i check in i'm told the hotel has no smoking rooms even though there is a sign hanging behind front desk saying non-smoking rooms available which means there are smoking […] rooms!!! Also there were rooms with no smoking signs and rooms without those signs. An older hotel that has not been upgraded in a long time - shabby. Hot water was adequate in the shower but none at the sink. Breakfast is poor. Midway in breakfast service they were out of milk, pastries, eggs. Cheap frankfurters for "sausage": really? I love the downtown areas in San Antonio, Texas. San Fernando PLaza is a great pplace to relax as well as the River walk. The Malt House located on Westside of San Antonio and THe Mexican Manhatten Mexican Restaurant located on Soledad Street downtown are the best places to eat for great Mexican American food.

We chose this hotel because it was just down the street from the wedding we were attending. Couldn't beat the convenience, but the bed should have been cleaner. The sheets had been washed, but weren't exactly white anymore. Also, room service never came to our room, so didn't make us feel very clean the second night. Staff was polite, though.

We were very happy with this hotel. It was convenient to the Riverwalk and to Oktoberfest. The room was very clean and even though it was close to the freeway we did not hear any traffic sounds. The AC was a little noisy but not to the point of preventing sleep. We would reccommend this hotel to friends and family.

Upon arrival, I was able to check in right away with no difficulties. However, I was given a 1st floor room right next to the main office, hotel laundry room, and janitors area and not far from the breakfast area. Made for some very noisy mornings. The staff member was nice but not very user friendly. The room was average and could stand a make over. The worst part is the housekeeping was unacceptable. There was blood, fresh blood, on our sheets and blankets. The staff did nothing to accomodate us except apologize. I would tell the next patron either find a different hotel or strip the bed completely […] before laying down. very good hotel, if you're on a budget and have a large family its the way to go, free breakfast, you can't beat it. there was seven of us, four adults and three kids, had the triple queen-size room, very large and comfortable and most of all clean. by car downtown was minutes away. plan to stay there again.

The first room that we were given had stains in the carpet not to mention wet in certain spots, the room smelled like wet dog, the window was broken and would not close and there was were no ammenitites like a simple coffee pot available to us. The decor was not inviting and was very dingy. We were not sure if the sheets were even clean. I would not […] take off my shoes. I went to the front desk and requested another room and even offered to pay for the upgrade just to get out. We were given a free upgrade with was a better experience except that the room smelled like cigarette smoke and it was a non smoking room. The decor was better, the carpets looked cleaner and there was a coffee pot, mini fridge and microwave. The free hot breakfast provided was very sad. We were provided a sliver of an omelete and very small piece of sausage (about the size of your thumb from tip to 2nd nuckle). Frozen waffles were offered or two small pancakes. Grape juice, water, milk or coffee was offered. This type of breakfast was offered everyday. The third day we stayed at this hotel we had to eat somewhere else as it was not appetizing or filling. I stayed at the Antonian as part of a family vacation and was traveling with a family of five. The fact that we were all able to stay in the same room (there were three queen-sized beds), had ample space to move around, got breakfast in the morning, and easy directions to all of the area attractions was a huge plus. We were right off the interstate […] and it was an easy drive to everything we wanted to see. The only negative was the surrounding neighborhood - things were a little rough. However, we did not have any problems and were very pleased with our stay. If you are interested in a luxury hotel, this is not the one for you but if you are interested in a clean, comfortable, affordable room with easy access to major attractions, this is a good choice.
