Our room was on the third floor and the room beside us along with the one above us was very loud. The room had an odor to it as if it had been used as a smoking room, but then was turned into a non-smoking room. It was very damp and nothing seemed to dry out even when it was warm outside. The room was kept clean by the staff, but we received a knock […] on the door of our room by the cleaning crew to see if we were leaving for the day before 9:00 am so it could be cleaned. Our stay at the Courtyard Marriott North Myrtle Beach was great. The hotel is very nice as expected for a Marriott hotel. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The hotel lobby and dining area was beautifully decorated and makes you feel you are at home.

The thing that disgusted me the most was that I found a cockroach in the initial room I was placed in. Although I was moved to another room (which was not very clean, ie. sand on the shelves of the closet and dresser), I had unsettling night of sleep due to wondering if there were cockroaches in the new room. Over the past year, I have stayed at different hotels in different locations, and most all (even lower-rated places by comparison) have mini-refrigerators. Very close to Bass Pro Shop and Tanger outlets. If you're going to Myrtle Beach for shopping, this is the place to stay. Easy access to Hwy 17 and all the good restaurants.
