"would stay again"

"Hotel in New Columbia, PA"
Although this hotel looks to have been recently updated, it literally took 5 minutes to get hot water. When we flushed the toilet or washed our hands there was a terrible, loud sound in the wall. You could not use the TV remote unless you were sitting up in bed and raising your hand/remote over your head to so that it could "connect" with the sensor […] on the TV. The front desk employees were very nice and helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Holiday Inn Express New Columbia"
This was our first time here and we were pleased with our room. Only complaint was there were no towels or wash cloths left in the room the second night we were there we had to go ask for some. There could be a grab bar in the shower also, but otherwise the hotel was clean and comfortable. Nice heated pool and hot tub. We drove to Shade Mountain Winery […] in Middleburg on Saturday which was about a half hour away from the hotel. Nice quiet area and a Bonanza restaurant is right up the street from this hotel. Otherwise it is a quite remote area unless you're there for a specific reason. Will stay agsain next year I am sure! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"stayed one night"
Stayed one night and did not get to use available services (pool, exercize room). For overnight stay was very good. Did not get to check out neighborhood and surrounding area due to length of stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"newly renovated and very close to Bucknell"
This hotel is within a 5 minute drive, right up the road from Bucknell on Rt. 15. Everything in the hotel has been newly renovated (except perhaps the mattresses). The beds were only so comfortable, but everything else was great. The breakfast buffet was convenient, offering eggs, sausages, cereal, coffee, fruit, bagels and juice. Parking was also convenient. […] We went for Bucknell Parent's weekend and wish we could have this hotel for graduation, but they are already sold out for 2012. Word to the wise, Bucknell parents...book your hotel for graduation at least a year in advance. This hotel is very convenient and was a pleasant experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A great chain"
This one is like all the others we have stayed in this year. Clean, comfortable, well-appointed, excellent staff. Holiday Inn Express hotels seem to be sprouting everywhere and it's very nice to know that by choosing this chain you know exactly what to expect and you get good value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Holiday Inn Express in New Columbia, PA"
Our stay was a last minute reservation due to a death in the family and they were more than accomidating to us as when we where leaving to go we had to add another person to the room. A rollaway bed was waiting (that was actually comfortable) and extra towels. The staff was very friendly too. Would stay there again when we are visiting family down that […] way. "Comfortable hotel, currently being remodeled"
We stayed here 4 nights while attending the 2011 Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable. They were currently in the process of remodeling the hotel, but we were not bothered by the construction in any way. The breakfast was decent.....hot and cold items to choose from. […] Our only complaint was finding a good place to eat dinner when we returned to the hotel as there were not alot of options close by. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Had a great night sleep"
Had a great night sleepGenuine Expedia guest review
While the rating for this hotel was only 2.5 stars believe it should be higher! Our room was clean with good mattresses and well appointed. Service was good and had easy access to Route 80.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We rented 5 separate rooms. One of the rooms smelled so strongly of smoke that we had to have the room changed. It was a typical HI Express, nothing special but nothing terrible either.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lacking attention to details"
Room was clean. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. We had to move from first room because of noise. Second room had a shower curtain that didn't fit right because the rod wasn't secured properly. Overall stay was fine, but not the best Holiday Inn Express experience we've had.Genuine Expedia guest review
For a budget hotel just off the highway the New Columbia Holiday Inn Express was not bad. Bed was good, room was clean and the free breakfast, unlike many other chains, was not bad. I have stayed their twice while on Business in Lewisburg and plan to stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"HIE New Columbia - Little League World Series"
Hotel was good, people very friendly, good breakfast, great room, but thought the rate was steep for the distance back to South Williamsport. Rate was probably increased due to Little League World Series.

My wife and I have stayed here many times over the past 6 or more years on our way beyond & back. The hotel has been updated, expanded, and renovated several times over our various short stays. It is very attractive & up to date; it has always been just great; super clean and spacious rooms, super bedding, choice of pillow firmness, great bathroom with various amenities. Free internet & wireless. Very acceptable free breakfast: eggs, meats, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, as well as breakfast drinks. Even coffee/tea 24/7.

The hotel was very clean and nice inside. Nice atmosphere. Rooms were clean, no outside noise or cleaning noise could be heard (and our room was right beside housekeeping). The woman who checked us in, Michelle, was awesome. She was very friendly and helpful (and we required her help numerous times). She even signed me up for the rewards program which I was unaware about. The woman in the morning, Renee, was very very rude. I asked about getting some items on the breakfast bar refilled, and she promptly bit my head off (she yelled loud enough that the entire room of breakfast eaters heard), she then yelled at an employee, and told him to tell Mary (the woman who was supposed to keep breakfast stocked) to come refill the breakfast. Breakfast (with the exception of low amount of food when we went down at 8am), was good. The cinnamon rolls, seemed a little stale (I was looking forward to a cinnamon roll, I'm not big on breakfast in general), and I was hoping for some bacon (this was one item I got my head bit off for). They do serve turkey sausage, so why not some turkey bacon as well?! The pool was a bit cold, it could've been a little warmer as it was an indoor pool. Check in and check out went smoothly. I would stay at this hotel again (but would hope to not deal with Renee). The Regional Director of Sales, Ty Gemberling, was very helpful.
"Great for a Quick Night!"
08/07/14 LER627 Washington DC, District of Columbia
We stopped here on our way to Rochester for Thanksgiving, when the snow just got too heavy. Service was good, as they were able to make us a last-minute reservation and our room was warm and awaiting us upon our arrival. Got there very late at night and so we pretty much just went to sleep, but the room was adequate, the bathroom clean, and the beds comfortable. Slept well and when we were ready to go in the morning, we had a filling breakfast at the included continental breakfast area. Check-in and out were both easy, and we were on our way in no time!
"No hot water"
Upon realizing we had no hot water in our room, I call the front desk. She told me she would check the hot water heater and to try again in 10 minutes. I tried 10 minutes later, still no hot water. Call the front desk and the response was basically, you're the only 1 with his problem, sorry. Well, I need to bathe my children so what can we do? Her solution was to move rooms. With a 5 year old, 3 year old, and two suitcases full of things unpacked, that was out of the question. Could we take a shower in a different room? No. Why not? They would have to clean 2 rooms if they moved us anyway, right? After she called the general manager, she allowed us to shower in a room a floor above. Not accommodating whatsoever, not helpful, not a good experience.
"Here for a wrestling tournament"
07/17/14 Fran C Ridley Park, Pennsylvania
Property is just average. We stayed here 2 nights for a wrestling tournament. I feel as our room was extremely dusty, not dirty just dusty. I noticed that there was dust strings hanging from the curtains, and ceilings also the furniture was very dusty. My 10 year old pointed it out to me right away. There was a white powder like baby powder on the desk chair and the door of the dresser. Before getting settled in I had to take a damp tissue and wipe everything down. Other than that the bathroom was clean and beds where not bad. Pool was nice kids used it 3 x while there and 2 out of the 3x they had no dry towels. I would stay here again but would look into booking somewhere else first. Just a bit dissapointed since I stay at Holiday Inn express before and they seemed much nicer.

Standard Holiday Inn Express. Clean, decently sized rooms with microwave and fridge. Comfortable bed. Standard breakfast. Almost nothing in walking distance, but plenty a short drive away. Close to the highway but I had a room on the back side and wasn't bothered by noise at all.
"Nice Functional Hotel."
06/17/14 Erik K Emmitsburg, Maryland
We stayed here while at a swim meet at Bucknell University. Some families wanted to camp, we did not, so a hotel near the camp ground was chosen. A somewhat modern hotel in a rural setting. A well kept, nice and clean travel hotel. About 15 min from Bucknell, a mall, a movie theatre, and chain restaurants. My only knocks were that the pool is small (even after swimming all day they still want to go to the pool), every day we had to ask for a forth towel (4 people in our room) and the pillows were terrible (usual hotel stuff). All in all a great value in a central location. Would definitely stay here again.
"Great value for the money"
Great value for the money. Just know that it is a short drive (5-10 minutes) to Lewisburg. The front desk people were very nice. The complimentary breakfast was average, but the hotel was clean & felt newer. I would stay there again if traveling in Pennsylvania.
"Great Overnight Stay"
05/28/14 NJ-Tennessean Newton, NJ
We stayed here for one night before heading to Knoebels Amusement Park. The location is conveniently off the interstate. A number of restaurants and stores are available a few miles down the road in Lewisburg. Overall I was very pleased with everything about the stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the rate was reasonable. They have an indoor pool which my daughter enjoyed using. Internet service is available in the lobby. The breakfast was more than adequate and had a decent variety of food options including many nutritious options which seem to be lacking in many hotels. It met all my expectations so I would definitely stay here again.
"Good one, everything done right"
05/11/14 randgust Warren
Stopped on a one-nighter for business, everything just worked. Flawlessly. From checkin, all features, fittings, features, cleanliness, everything just exactly as it should be. Breakfast probably a cut above in terms of execution on a convention HIX. And I stay at a lot, it's a formula, so there are not a whole lot of differences and you have to really dig in the small details to find many differences at all. I seriously can't think of one little detail that went wrong, so you get a rare 5 from me. Glad this is here because my last visit to this area was memorably, terribly, bad in a motel just down the road.
