The staff was wonderful and great location as it is central to MM. Pay WF is my only complaint. So if you have I pad don't get room facing Michigan or there is no signal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was a bit small, but that came as no surprise as we've stayed at the Allerton before. Service is outstanding.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel in a great location. They need to update their 1980's telephones in the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"One night in Chicago"
Check in was easy and way before the check in time. Service was great. Location was perfect for our 2 days to see as much as we could. In the middle of many things we wanted to see.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Surrounded by shopping"
Great location, great service, but the most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept in. The hotel upgraded us for free and took great care of us. The service is excellent. However the hotel is in need of a couple of upgrades and repairs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Wonderful hotel, but heads-up, vegetarians/vegans"
Very friendly and helpful staff, great rooms, and surprisingly affordable for its location. The only thing was I wished they had mentioned that the mattresses were also feather, in addition to the comforters. My boyfriend is a vegetarian, and he was a little weided out by it when we realized. Still a great experience, definitely would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Customer service was good but the room size was very small. Cost an additional $25 to upgrade to a "standard size room." My advice is to just pay the small account extra and stay at the Mile North hotel which is less than a block away.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Will not return"
Room was very crowded and vrry disappointed with our view of an alley and another building showing rooms undet construction. Very upset with parking bill of $60 per night which IS NOT posted on the web site nir mentioned when you reserve the roomGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Parking was $60.00 a night. So parked a cuple blocks away. Internet was really high at $19.95 a day for not very good. Ended up using free internet in the lobby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"room size and lobby situation are disatisfying"
Assigned to an extraordinarily small room 2017. Clean however. No lobby of size, comfort and rest . . country motels provide better lobby comfort.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Everything within walking distance."
Very enjoyable stay. You can walk easily to vast majority of sights. One tricky detail is the on-site parking. You have to double park outside entrance and flag down door man to get your car into parking garage. A better option is to use public parking garage next door at half the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"everything we expected and more!"
This was actually our second stay at the Allerton. We had several guests staying downtown for our wedding, so we picked an old favorite so we could be close to them. When we checked in, they had upgraded us to a suite, which was beautiful! The entire hotel is absolutely gorgeous! Amazing architecture and original style has been preserved very well. […] You can't beat this location, either! We'll be staying here again and again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right on Michigan Ave."
Our stay was good. Only complaint...Offer coffee in evening also. Maybe a juice in a.m.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This place is great! I never took part of the restaurant or bar so I cannot discuss service. The room was alright. I feel it could have had a better update and a better paint job but that is actaully part of my profession to notice things like that. The wifi charge was crazy, though. i guess it expires after you use it or at midnight. I was not about […] to pay an additional $20 for internet. Anyway, this is a pretty and affordable place in the middle of it all!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
excellent hotel and staff. Very friendly and helpful concierge. Walking distance to art museums, and the water tower theater which was fun. Could use a better cup of coffee though which was the only drawback.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect for walking to sights and shopping"
Brought 5 friends to Chicago for their first visit. The hotel suited our needs perfectly. The concierge was most helpful. Lots of assistance getting taxis as we had different degrees of mobility within the group. I will stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our original room smelled like smoke so we asked to move rooms. Our second room was great with a wonderful view. We were right next to all the shopping on Michigan Ave and only a 4 minute walk from the red line.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Warwick Allerton Hotel, Great For Family Vacations"
Staff were very accomodating. Great Food in the restaurant, we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. Hotel close to great shopping and the museums.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Conveniently located close to Chicago attractions"
Room was clean and comfortable. It felt very private due to the fact that the entrance / exit was on a different floor from the reception area. My only complaint would be regarding the wifi. In my opinion, it was a little more expensive than what I typically pay at other hotels and the speed and quality were sub-par.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We just returned from family vacation. We stayed at this hotel. Over all, we are overwhelmingly satisfied. Ideal location. Location A+, one can walk to everywhere, to shopping, Sear Towers, Navy Pier...etc. For walking exercise, walkway by Michigan river is few blocks away. I walked every morning sipping fresh air from the river. Friendly service. Very […] clean except for the room carpet. The room carpet we stayed in doesn't match the rest of the hotel. Hope the management will make adjustment. Parking, $60/day, ouch! but friendly/convenient valet. WiFi only on 2nd floor. Since I decided not to touch my work laptop, it didn't matter. I got personal emails on my SmarPhone. Though the room is a bit small, for the location we were looking for it was more than enough. Our stay was very pleasant. "A great stay"
We were visiting Chicago for the first time. The hotel is located in the middle of downtown and it was very easy to get everywhere. The room was a little small but it didn't matter to us since we were there to experience Chicago, not the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially the woman who cleaned our room, Hilda. The only complaint […] I would have is that we were given a non-smoking room and were forced to sign a waiver saying we would pay if we smoked. However, as soon as we walked in, the room smelled of smoke. It got a little bit better over the course of the week (since we don't smoke), but I would have preferred to have a truly non-smoking room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I liked the location and the room was very nice. The elevators were older but the wait was never more than about a minute or so. I will return should I need a place to stay in Chicago.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel did not live up to 4 star rating"
Location was perfect. Staff was helpful and nice. Bed was old and creaky. There was a musty smell in the room. Not sure if it was once a smoking room. Room was small, as was the bathroom. The rooms were styled fairly nice. Wallpaper peeling in the bathroom. Sheets looked a bit worn but clean. Room and bathroom were clean. Did notice the hallways on […] the 12th floor were never vacuumed during our 4 day stay, debris throughout. The stay was fine and the money was right. But i can't say i would go back. "1 night stay"
We only stayed here for one night and thank goodness for that. The room was tiny! The only way my husband could get to his side of the bed was to climb over the edge of the bed to get to the other side. Location was great. Price was great but i guess thats the size room we get for the price we paid.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth ita price."
This hotel is in a great location but extremely over priced. Parking is $48 a night. Wifi is $20 a day. We spent $230 a nighr which was discounted from $330 a night and the room was the size of a closet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The set up the room was very disappointing. If your tall you didn't have much room to sit on the toilet. The tv was placed in a very odd spot. Very uncomfortable to lay in bed and watch tvGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Allerton Hotel perfect for Mag Mile shopping"
The Warwick Allerton provided the perfect hospitality for what we needed. It is a small old hotel that has been renovated to meet comfort standards and then some. We stayed only for 2 nights so we could go shopping and walk around the area. Thanks for the free coffee from 7a to 11a. The room we were in was small. More than two adults in a room would […] be uncomfortable and hard to move around in. The bed was comfortable, except for a few down feathers that poked through to pinch our skin. We were missing an ice bucket. The bathroom only had a shower. There was an in-room safe (nice). Full size ironing board (nice). The thermostat was easy to use and it worked well. The wall mounted TV did not swivel, so we had to sit at the end of the bed to watch it. The lotion, shampoo, conditioner and bar soap provided are high-end products and nice. The towels were, clean, thick and plenty provided. In fact, I asked for an extra set and they were brought up within 10 minutes. The check-in process went uneventful, but I did ask to be switched from a room by the elevator and the hotel receptionist came up stairs to personally take us to a new room away from the elevators. This hotel is close to Rush Street, shopping, the lake, many places to eat, a mile from the River Walk. I would not stay in this hotel for longer than 2 nights, because the room was too small (so were the elevators). Then again, the hotel was built in 1924. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Safe area close to great food and fun!"
My son and I went on a great adventure in Chicago. The hotel was easy to reach via public transportation; we bought a 3 day bus pass that was worth every penny and more. The staff was helpful and the room had a nice view of North Michigan Ave; they even had shower gel in the bathroom, which most hotels don't really offer anymore. I would certainly stay […] here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel and staff were very pleasant. Room was a bit small but clean and comfortable. Food in restaurant was very good. Free Wi-Fi in lounge area. Within walking distance of good restaurants, the hop on and hop off stop, and the lake.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not very nice for the money spent"
Purchased a 3 night stay at the hotel. We decided to get a executive king size room, because of the king size bed. The bed was wide enough but not very long. If you are over 6 feet tall your feet with hang over the end. The elevators are a real pain, small and the cleaning personnel use them so much it can take you 20 min to too get to your floor. Hallways […] were filthy. The carpet in rooms were filthy. The chair in the room was covered in something never sat in it looked disgusting. Air conditioning kept the room cool but would never stop running. The tv was in a dumb location and so high off the floor say 4 feet had to wrench your neck to see it. Do not use the refrigerator huge fees if you move or use the drinks or food . The hotel did offer breakfast in the morning for twenty bucks and tip, basically the same stuff you get at any other hotel as a free continental breakfast. For internet in your room it cost 20 dollars, but is free in lobby. No vending machines. I will not stay at this hotel again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice hotel, but maybe a bit stuffy. Not a good place for kids (not a problem for me, but wouldn't recommend to friends w/kids). Hotel does not offer vending machines, only the mini-bar (sans price list) in the room (Bring your own beverages!). We had a king room, but felt there was unusable space that could have been better used in the (small) bathroom. […] Overall a nice place to stay. Very slow and very small elevators. Friendly staff. "In the middle of all the shops and restaurants"
This hotel is in a great location. When we checked in first, our room was very small, however, after speaking with Shannon, the Manager there she changed our room to a very nice and much bigger room. She was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Close to all of the sites that I wanted to see. The only down side was the charge for WIFI.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were very happy for our first experience staying downtown Chicago. This hotel was centrally located. The room was small but very functional and that was what mattered. From reading other reviews we knew that the elevators were small and slow so we were prepared. The only time we had a problem was an hour before checkout. Our room faced Huron St. […] and we were on the 8th floor. We had no problem with excessive city noise. Definitely would stay here again. Also, the staff was very friendly and helpful. "Great location and service"
Had a good stay at the Warwick hotel. Location was excellent, close to everything in magnificent mile, downtown chicago. We walked to resturants, museums, the beach etc. Rooms elevators were small and the our bed was worn, not very comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a beautiful building. However, my mini-bar was completely empty when I arrived.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not recommended for business travelers"
I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. If you are a business traveler, I'd advise you to not pick this hotel. I needed a consistent stable wifi connection so I could get some work done around a couple of meetings. The wifi connection in the room was very terrible, and that was with me paying $20 a day for the premier tier. I wasted a lot of time […] on their customer service line and got nowhere. Finally, I called the front desk and had them refund the charge for the internet and went and found a coffee shop. To my surprise, when I got the bill, I was charged a small fee for long distance - for the front desk lady transferring me to the 1-800 number for their tech support! I called up and they dropped the charge without a single argument, as if they were expecting it. Strange. Other than the bad wifi connection, the room was small but quiet and cozy, and the location was incredible. I just won't stay here again because I need a fast wifi connection for my work.
