Very pleased with our 'Deluxe Garden Room'. The room was large and clean with a sitting area and king sized bed that was very comfortable. The hotel is very nice, but could use a bit of updating/refreshing. It's s bit stuck in the 90s, but still nice. The breakfast buffet was great and the lagoon pools were beautiful. It's right off of 4-mile beach, […] which is nice for a morning stroll. We stayed without kids, but there were lots of kids there and I think my kids would have really enjoyed it. This hotel was absolutely lovely. The grounds are immaculately maintained. The staff is very responsive, although there was little that needed attention. The fact that you can swim in any of the lagoons is wonderful. I would recommend this resort to anyone who loves an all inclusive vacation. great location, right on the beach and easy to get into town. Hotel interior is stuck in the 80's and needs a revamp. Food prices are way too expensive, do not eat or drink at the hotel. Would only stay here again if the rooms are on sale/heavily discounted.

The Hotel is very picturesque. The Staff go out of their way to make you feel special. Couldn't get a better scene to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Rooms are very comfortable with size able bathrooms. For the Golf lover there is an 18 hole golf course on site to be enjoyed.

The outside of this property is beautiful and the pool area is lovely. However, it is clear that the roooms have not been updated in some time, if ever. Smells like mildew everywhere; the bathroom fixtures are old and rusted, furniture is out of style, the electronic controls for everything are out of date, and it is easy to leave the Do Not Disturb […] light on all day inadvertently, as we did. Consequently, we had no maid service, so I can't comment on the quality of the day to day maintenance. We would find another place to stay in Port Douglas if we ever go back. Read more

Hotel seemed very nice, for the most part. There was a dead bird on our patio table, though, and around 9PM, something triggered a fire alarm that went on for about 20 minutes or more before it was finally addressed, as an apparently false alarm.

A Beautiful hotel in paradise. the surrounding gardens and pools are exquisite. The Hotel is getting on in years and there is some evidence of tideness on theold girl but really nothing that would alter the overall outcome of your stay. Although a big hotel and we were there over the eastwer holiday period, we never felt at any time smothered by other […] people. The room we booked was a Mirage room and it was huge with everything at hand to make your stay enjoyable. we had one small hiccup with the booking on check in and the room keys not working on the third day but the rest of the stay was great. A total shame they decided not to open the beautiful Italain restaurant over the Easter break as i am sure it would have been full every night. The only other option was the full buffet dinner in the Lagoon restaurant which I doubt anyone would really want to indulge in for 4 days straight. but we did discover you could have little snack meals in the daintree lounge/bar.....and the food was lovely and quite reasonable. Overall we had a lovely stay and found one of the staff on the reception exceptionally helpful......he helped complete our lovely stay. Read more

The location right off the beach, the large beautiful grounds and the very very large pool area of this hotel are terrific and make staying at the hotel very worthwhile. Additionally the customer service is very good and friendly. The hotel is clearly in need of a renovation and the rooms (and hotel in general) are very dated. Our room had a musty […] smell but that said the room was fine and it was an enjoyable stay for several days. Due to the beautiful grounds and the massive pool (lagoon really) I would recommend a stay here provided you get a reasonable rate and are prepared to accept the fact that the hotel is outdated. In my opinion this is not a hotel to stay at if you are planning large amounts of time in your room. Go in with informed expectations and you will not be disappointed. Read more

The pools were fantastic, if not for this the whole experience would have been completely dissatisfactory. Upon completion of check in, i was advised by reception when my room wasn't ready that i needed to take my bags over to the porter desk to get them put in storage, on doing this i had to wait 10 minutes for a porter to show up, the desk was unattended. […] On return when i was called and advised that my room was ready it took another 10 minutes to collect my bags from storage as again the porter desk was unattended. When I got to my room, the keys didn't work. The room was not the room that i had booked. I had to call guest services and it took 3 hours for them to recify the problem. On arriving to my new room again the keys didn't work. When i returned to the reception desk and told the duty manager my concerns she didn't have the deciency to apologise for the inconvienence nor did she had or show any empathy. I was issued new keys and again they didn't work. and had to get them reissued a third time. Read more

While this hotel would have been magnificent when it was new, there seems to be a real lack of staff maintaining it. The place is in dire need of a major refurbishment. Money needs to be spent if they want to label it a four and a half star hotel. Plus, the prices of food, services etc is way too expensive.

Hotel was good if a little dated but it was very busy. This meant that there were not enough loungers by the pools and a 5 min queue for breakfast which was tough. The staff were great and helpful but the quality of the food was a little disappointing for the price.

This resort is starting to get a bit run down. The fittings and facilities within the room were old and heavily stained. Booked through Expedia. Package included breakfast and kingsized bed for me and my wife. On arrival the hotel would not honor the breakfast package or the Kingsized bed. They put us into a crappy twin share room. Even though we had proof of what we paid for. The hotel's stance was its not our problem its Expedia's problem. Service at pool restaurant and bar area is shambolic. The young staff walk around all day asking "did you order this?". Totally understaffed as well. Internet was at a crawl in the business centre for days. Not enough dining options. Had our name wrong when we checked in, and then called us the wrong name for our whole stay. It was a bit rich that kids […] things like the pool fun area and painting were extra and cost so much. We had a good two bedroom villa, which saved the day. My wife and I spent 5 nights at the Sheraton Mirage in Port Douglas during July 2012. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfasts were really excellent, though vastly over priced at A$26 each which was a special low July school holiday rate. The room was spacious and reasonably comfy though dark due to little natural light being able to enter […] the room. It was our second stay there. We returned mainly due to the fabulous swimming pools, with hardly any guests using them. The water temperature was fine in October, though too chilly during July, we would prefer to go to one of the Pacific Islands during this time period, for seeking out somewhere hot enough. the only thing that I would knock back is the price of food on their menus. they really take advantage of the fact there are no restaurants around the hotel and if you are hungry and not wanting to take the shuttle into town you are forced to pay their prices.

Rooms are In need of upgrade very dated , air conditioning struggled rooms smelled musty we went in June and the pool was too cold to swim in.$13.50 for a glass of wine which was way overpriced, did not dine at the restaurant.

My stay was excellent, the room was spacious and very comfortable. Beds and pillows fantastic. The lagoons were great and pool service was also great. We had dinner at the restaurant and the meal was beautiful. I wouls recommend the resort to everyone it was such a pleasure to stay there. I wish we could have stayed longer.

As soon as we arrived we felt that that staff did not want to help us out in any way. We felt that the hotel was way over priced and that they charge for everything, even things that at most hotels include for you at no cost. The hotel rooms also had a strange musky smell. The only good thing that we liked abut the Sheraton Mirage was the pools.

Mirage built in 1987 and layout and design hasn't changed. It desperately needs to be modernised however is still an amazing resort with a handful of lovely lagoons to swim and relax by.

This Hotel is just perfect. Rooms are spacious, beds most comfortable. Do not understand complaints about the decor? Loved how clean the whole property was. Staff most helpful and my husband and I just felt very relaxed and peaceful. Pools are picture perfect and clean and so many of them. You can have your pick.Then there is a beach few steps away! […] Nothing to complain about, will probably stay there again. Golf course needs a bit of upgrade as well as gym.
