We always enjoy staying at a Residence Inn and this location was ideal for us. The staff were all exceptionally warm and friendly which we really appreciated and usually don't find to be always the case. We hope to return for another San Diego vacation and will definitely stay at this particular Residence Inn!!!

I'm a Marriott Rewards Client and this is the WORST I've ever stayed with. Service is abismal. Rooms didn't get made up or cleaned unless and until we asked at 5:00/5:30 PM!!! Breakfast was NEVER on time, and since we were on a tight schedule, we didn't get a chance to eat there, and had to eat somewhere else. Spend your money wisely and go somewhere […] else. My stay was great. The hotel is clean, the bed was comfortable, the suite was a nice size and its location is convenient. The complimentary breakfast is excellent. Not your typical pastries, juice, and coffee. I am definitely staying here next time I'm in SD.

The hotel was in north San Diego close to the airport and Little Italy. It worked very well for us with the 2BR suite. Walking distance to Little Italy. Management was very helpful in recommending activities, restaurants, areas to visit. Only negative was near train track. No train horn at night. Good night sleep. Wonderful mattress.

I checked in the hotel at 3:30pm and the room wasn't ready. I was given the key but asked to wait in the lobby for 10'. After a lengthy conversation with an acquaintance, I realized the front desk hadn't informed me if I could go in the room yet, he apologized for forgetting to inform. The room itself is clean. But if I had known it backed up to the railroad tracks and the Amtrak station was only a block away, I wouldn't be here writing. Our room was supposed to be non-smoking but there were cigarette butts in the window and so much cleaner was sprayed in the room when we walked in I could barely breathe. The suite we had at the Residence Inn, San Diego, CA, was very comfortable, good location, accessible to taxis and public transportation. Nice to have buffet breakfasts, other amenities. Staff was very nice and accommodating.

Great staff. Good breakfast. Great value for the money. Couldn't pick a better location for seeing the downtown, Seaport Village and Balboa Park. Ask front desk for directions. We stayed in an upgraded room facing the main street. The room was large, well disgned and great for either famlies or busness.

The only bad thing is the sofabed, very uncomfortable, but almost all sofabeds are so we supposed this one would not be the exception. There's a Jack in the Box steps away and a 7-Eleven just around the corner. Parking spaces could be wider on one of the two parking lots available. We really didn't plan to go into Gaslamp or do much sight seeing so the room was perfect for our plan of staying in. We did venture out into Little Italy for some food and went shopping the next day. About a 5 minute drive into downtown and with the free shuttle, location isn't bad at all. No noise complaints, lots of pillows and good sized room.

Hotel was fair quality, but expensive. I have stayed in better Residence Inns before. The benefits are the 2 separate rooms (for kids) & the included breakfast. We still had to take a Taxi to get to the other side of downtown.
