This was generally a pleasant and convenient place to stay. We had two rooms for three nights. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. The rooms were a step above basic, and they were clean and comfortable. All rooms were on the second and third floors above the first floor garage, entry, laundry, and breakfast room. There is a central inner […] courtyard on the second floor, plus a series of interesting mini-courtyards that bring light into the rooms. The central courtyard has a fire-pit with comfortable seating where people did hang out. I'm not sure what it would be like to have a room facing the courtyard, ours didn't. There's a small cute pool with a sauna, and an exercise room with four pieces of different equipment, all on the second floor. It's a 1 mile walk to Venice beach, and a shorter walk to some other services. Washington Blvd is a standard four-lane blvd, safe but unspecial. There's no driveway, only a white curb in front of the hotel, and a compact garage. More than half the parking is doubled-up, so that you may need to leave your keys at the desk or ask for help to move someone else's car. However, we found this worked well enough. Breakfast offered a good variety of mediocre food. There was not nearly enough seating, and you could wait quite a while for a table, or take your food back to the room. The breakfast staff was pleasant but could not keep the food replenished fast enough. Read more

we got to the Hotel and It was very nice, we were welcome with a smile, the problem we had it was short handed , took a long time to be able to contact front desk, on our last night we asked to for an extended stay so we can get some extra sleep, however first the air condition started leaking and got a luggage and my son's guitar wet, then the toilet […] overflowed and we asked for someone to come and fixed . no one showed up and we had to go downstairs to use the restroom.. This place provided an excellent location---near enough to Venice beach that you can walk in the wonderful Los Angeles weather (through a beautiful neighborhood, I might add). The hotel itself was great! The pool is small, but hanging out in the hotel pool was not the main purpose of my stay. I loved it, my boyfriend's kids loved the hotel and he loved […] the proximity to the liquor store next door. :-) We had a Queen Suite...perfect for two kids (using the pull out bed sofa). The ability to close up the bed area allowed the adults some privacy at night. The guest services were great, too...my boyfriend's son "accidentally" ordered movies (but apparently did not watch them) and guest services was more than happy to reverse the charges given the mistake. Super excellent, wonderful time! (My only minor complaint is the double-parking situation in the parking light, but that is a very minor inconvenience and otherwise the hotel is excellent in my opinion.) Read more

The hotel was excellent. Much better than what i expected for the price paid. Only thing you have to drive up to Santa Monica around 3-5 minutes away once you get familiarised. That's a definitely more happening area than in Washington Blvd. For people who drive it makes no difference ..

Staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. A little further from beachfront than expected, but easily walkable or good local bus service. Close to LAX, and we had one night before flying out. Would definitely stay there again. Happy, happy, happy.

This hotel is newly remodeled. The location was great for our needs. Multiple eating spots at a short walking distance. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were very nice, everything was clean. Free good breakfast was included, also free parking. We had an enjoyable stay, and as we need to return to that area we will stay again.

This hotel is about 3/4 of a mile from Venice beach so the location is ideal if you want to do the beach. The hotel is not fancy but certainly fine. Very small pool + hot tub is nice at end of day. Parking and breakfast are both nice benefits. Room was small but adequate. Mostly I recommend this hotel for its proximity to the beach.

The hotel was very accommodating, clean, and in a convenient location. It was easy to get to the beach, shops at the Marina, and to my office. The staff was very friendly and helpful and took the time and care to call and check on the room, get us in early, and help us find a place to eat while we waited. All and all great place.

Nice hotel in a convenient location just minutes from the airport and the beach. I took a nice jog down to the pier the morning after my stay and soaked in the warm California rays. There are some fun little bars down there too if you're up for a little night life.

We always stay at this hotel when we are visiting the Los Angeles area. They have comfortable rooms and beds, everything is very clean, coffee all the time in the lobby, free continental breakfast, FREE parking (unheard of), and relatively quiet if you request a room not facing Washington St. We always know what to expect when we stay here and they […] never let us down. The hotel recently changed from a Holiday Inn Express to a Best Western but everything is still great, PLUS they are adding a Fitness Room! They have a pool and a hot tub too which is nice to relax in after a long day out and about. I also think they still have bicycles to rent but we didn't take advantage of them this time. There are LOTS of bike trails around the area and it's a great way to see the beautiful Marina area, including Venice Beach. We will definitely stay here again. Read more
