The staff were fantastic! The breakfast service is very nice. The AC unit in the room I was in simply did not work, the room never really cooled off despite running the AC full time. (RM 160). Carlsbad had nice weather so this was only a minor nuisance, but it would have been awful if the weather was warmer. Pretty decent little hotel. We booked the 2 room king suite and were really impressed. It was better than we expected for the price. Little kitchen area with mw and fridge, counter & sink. 2 bathrooms. King bed with eating table & tv's in both rooms. The pull out sofa was a little too broken in and "springy" but for the price.. It was all good! Short […] walk to stores and some food spots. Easy walk to the beach. Low crime area. The train depot is across the street down Embarcadero Street. You can ride it North to the Amtrak station, or as far south as downtown San Diego and connect to the trolly system. It was noisy with the interstate traffic, but we used the AC/Heating unit on "fan" and it drowned out most of the noise. We were in a room away from the freeway so it's much noisier on that side. The hotel was nice and clean near the landmarks we were looking for like Lego land and the beach and the field of flowers beautiful. Only thing I could complain about was how it was right next to the high way which was so loud making it almost impossible to sleep. But beside that the hotel was good for the price and location.

Breakfast buffet was awesome, as were all of the employees we encountered. Only drawback was the freeway noise. Perfect place after a long day at Legoland AND it is pet friendly. A definite plus for those of us traveling with our four-legged kid.

Nice staff, very convenient location, love the free parking and breakfast. There is some significant road noise at time as you are next to the freeway. It is a great value for an overnight stay or for a family vacation. Can't see it for a romantic getaway.

We had a super awesome time. The kids love spending the night in a hotel room.....kinda like an adventure for them. They got to take a dip in the Jacuzzi and later watched a movie and we all couldn't wait for our continental breakfast the next day. Everyone slept well!!!

The hotel seems lagging in quality from other La Quinta hotels. The noise from the freeway is likely loud for many people, but I am okay with that steady hum. It seemed like this hotel was a conversion from a lower quality brand. I am not sure I would stay again.

Hotel was in amongst others in a nice area in Carlsbad. Not too far from the ocean and right off of the freeway. The freeway traffic was very loud, but the room managed to quiet the noise a bit. Close to my clients' offices. Easy access to highway. Hotel clean and well kept. The continental breakfast was very sad. Cheap muffiins and cereal; old fruit; not much else.
