The hotel was not clean even found old previously used shampoo bottles above shower door. Our room was very small. We thought we had booked a different Holiday Inn Express, but ended up here by mistake. We had our two new puppies with us plus our three kids and needed a pet room. The pet room smelled disgusting plus also smelled of cigarette smoke. […] If we hadn't had three kids on the road so long we would have stayed somewhere else. Piece of advice for all hotels who offer pet rooms. Charge a little more and change the carpet every six months. Not all people crate their animals. Read more

The Hotel staff were so nice. The rooms were renovated and looked great. The room was clean except for under the bed. I would definitly stay there again. It worked well for the whole family.

I usually stay at the Holliday Inn Express at the outlets when in Barstow, this one, however, was nice except the location, it is adjacent the train yards, and a bit noisy...they had earplugs upon request, which helped somwhat, that and quadruple pane windows, however, here were rather high pitched "squeek" noises, which is the only word I know to describe […] them, the paticuler pitch of these was such that nothing could possibly help in reguard to staunching them, otherwise, room was quite nice, clean with curteous staff. Had everything one needs when traveling through Barstow en route to Grand Canyon. Barstow can be kind of a creepy place, but you woudn't know it while staying at this hotel. Didn't even hear the train yard that I saw complaints about. I guess we were on the good end of the building.

The bed was very uncomfortable. Plus, for some unknown reason, we got a handicap room. I didn't mind the bars on the toilet that much, but the shower head was about lower chest level. The hotel is directly next to a major railroad "hump-yard". The screech of the "retarders" slowing down the boxcars, as they roll downhill under their own momentum... The occasional "BANG" of the cars slamming into other stationary ones, about 1/4 mile away... the hotel offers free earplugs, and with those I slept through most of the noise. My wife and I overnighted twice at this hotel when driving between San Jose, CA, and Sedona for a vacation. Noises from the nearby railway marshalling facility interrupted my wife's sleep several times. The breakfasts were pretty decent and there's an OK restaurant immediately across the road from the hotel. We ate dinner there both times.

Disappointing compared to other Holiday Inn Expresses. The room was tiny. I have to bring in an oxygen concentrator (approx. 2 ft by 3 ft) and it was difficult to find a spot AND plug it in. We ended up having to put it in front of the exit door. The floor had two nails sticking (with no obvious purpose) up in front of the bathroom door, which I stepped […] on. The fan made a loud noise but had to be on if the light was on. My husband removed the nails and fixed the fan. I was sick so we didn't call for help since he is a handyman. NOT good for a Holiday Inn Express.. Always stay at Holiday Inn when i'm in the States... But this was not a good pleasure... The rooms are very small and very very old... The train tracks behind is close and the sound is very terrible... The hotel has signs that says " this facility may cause cancer " Will not stay here again. I stopped here for one night in between my trip from Palm Springs to Las Vegas and to visit the nearby drive-in theater in the desert. Service is good: when I informed them the airconditioning wasn't working, I received another room without them even checking up on me if I was right or not. Breakfast is OK. Nothing fancy, but fine.
