We booked this hotel at the last minute as a result of a change of plans. The hotel seemed to be in a reasonably safe area close to the Tate Britain and was also a 5 minute walk to the Pimlico Tube Station on the Victoria line, so it was easy to get around Central London. The primary downside of the hotel is that the rooms do not have air conditioning […] and it happened to be very warm in London this August; however, at least the windows opened and there was a fan in the room. Other than the room comfort issue (which wouldn't be an issue most of the year in London), I would stay here again given the price and ease of access to the Tube. Read more

Holiday Inn Express made most of tight space in houses on Belgrave Road. I've stayed in other hotels in this area too and the comparison is in favor of Holiday Inn. There is a desk in the room which makes it suitable for business travelers.

Good points—This hotel was in a good location, the bed was comfortable, there were no problems with the bathroom facilities, breakfast had a good choice of items, and most of the staff were friendly. Drawbacks—As many hotel rooms in London there was no air conditioning, the bathroom included towels but had only disposable face cloths, evening staff […] was unfriendly, and the lift was very slow. The room was small and we could hear traffic (as other guests have mentioned), but that really was not a problem. I would stay in this hotel again because of the location (a bus to Trafalgar Square and Westminster was half a block away and Victoria station was a reasonable walk), but not in summer months because the lack of air conditioning would be a problem. Fire alarm was malfunctioning all night. Whenever I'd just about get to sleep the in-room siren would go off for 4 seconds. All night, and I had to be up at 4:30 in the morning. Front desk was quite rude about it when I called to understand what was happening. Since I was up, figured I'd get some work done. We arrived in London on a very early flight and it was too soon to check into our room. The staff was very nice about locking up our bags while we did some sight seeing. The location was very close to Victoria Station, we walked to the hotel in about 10 minutes. The room was small, as are many of the rooms in London, but it was very clean. My Husband and I stayed in this express hotel during a three day stay in London. The location was good because it is an easy five min. walk to Victoria Station, a hub for Trains and the Underground. When we eventually found the hotel the sign was very small we walked past it the 1st time as from the other side of the road it wasn't noticeable. We were greeted by friendly staff and the hotel and room itself were fine and clean. The biggest diasppointment about our stay here was they had ran out of cooked breakfast items, so that all that was left […] was beans and scrambled egg not very nice on a childs plate! I asked the staff where the rest of the breakfast was only to be told they had ran out, I pointed out they knew how many people were staying and we arrived to breakfast in good time. There were other people after us that also had no cooked breakfast, the manager did come to see me and was very apologetic. Convenient location close to Piccadilly line. Rooms on noisy road and guest above sounded as if they had concrete shoes on even though room not big enough to walk around easily. Staff ok and breakfast reasonable but at 9.30 we had the last two sausages so make sure you get in first if you stay here!

The great thing about HI Express is that it's pretty much the same wherever you go. This was the first time I'd booked an HI Express room in London, so I was anticipating it could be a (negative) exception, as London hotels tend to be. It was not. This place was ideal for our needs: not too pricey, breakfast included, 5min walk to Pimlico tube station, […] decent standard of room. The rooms in London hotels are legendarily tiny, and with questionable bathrooms. This one was smaller than other HI Express rooms I've been in, but you could comfortably walk around the bed; and the bathroom was exactly the same as every other HI Express I've ever been in. The staff (from the cleaning lady to the front of house manager) were all very helpful; no problem at all to leave bags in the (secure) cupboard in reception after checkout. All in all: very happy with it. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. If you're familiar with HI Express, and like the concept, you won't be disappointed. Read more

Vi är mycket nöjda! Först blev jag lite orolig eftersom vårt rum låg i källaren, men det visade sig vara ett stort rum med en bred säng och två enkelsängar som mycket bekväma. Rent och fräscht! Personalen var mycket hjälpsam med vägbeskrvningar o.dyl. Frukosten var också över förväntan. Det fanns youghurt, äggröra, korv och olika typer av bröd (främst […] vitt bröd förstås) och croissanter och liknande. Vår 14-åring var också mycket nöjd! Hotellet ligger i området Pimlico vilket är en bit från Oxfordstreet, men det passade oss eftersom vi sedan skulle åka tåg vidare från Victoria Station.
