The hotel desk receptionist on duty during our entire stay, Timea, was GREAT. Also the concierge, Steve, was very helpful. Would return there without doubt. Good value in a very nice B&B hotel.

My daughter and I stayed here for four days and were very satisfied with our stay. It is just around the corner from the Gloucester Rd tube station and the Hop on, Hop off bus tour. We found the staff pleasant and helpful. We had a small problem with the heat in our room, which was promptly and creatively handled. Breakfast was included with our room, […] and was more than adequate: fruit, juices, cheese, meats, pastries, toast and coffee served in French press coffee makers. This is not a cheap hotel, but London is not cheap, and you get what you pay for. Not quite as fancy as I might have expected for the price, but no problems. A little road noise, but perfectly acceptable.

There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by but just far enough away that you don't have to deal with the noise. Great rooms. Excellent Service. Free Wi-Fi, Free Breakfast and Queen Beds all at a reasonable price! The hotel is very close to the Piccadilly Line station, bus stops and the hop-on, hop-off tour buses. There are many restaurants around, and even a small supermarket. It is within walking distance to Kensington Gardens and a few other attractions, other […] things are a quick hop on the tube to central London. Getting there from Heathrow airport was an easy 30 minute ride on the tube (no transfers needed). The concierge was very helpful with theater reservations and other tickets. It's close to the Tube (Gloucester Road station, Picadilly Line goes to/from Heathrow), very comfortable and attractive, and they serve breakfast on site. We loved the Ashburn hotel. The room was surprisingly large (a twin room) and spotlessly clean. The amenities were as described, e.g. robes, slippers, breakfast, small refrigerator in the room, etc. The hotel was very close to the tube - about 1 1/2 blocks and we felt very safe walking around the area. I had an amazing experience at this hotel. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a King size room. The view was of the city road and was really breathtaking for someone new to the city. This hotel appears to be an upscale boutique hotel but it is anything but! We booked this hotel based on the the reviews written here and were very disappointed. While the rooms are tastefully decorated and the bathroom is done quite well, the mattress and bedding is more like a Hotel 1, Cheap and very uncomfortable. We asked at the receiption for a […] room with a better mattress and was told that this is the mattress that is in every room. The food was horrible. For a boutique hotel the food is on the level of a one star US hotel. The soup was, I believe, canned and the bread resembled that of spongy wonder bread. The morning continental breakfast consisted of packaged baked goods, wonder bread for toast and boxes of cereal. The carpeting in the hallway and in the stairwell was old and dirty. At the end of a long day of sight seeing this hotel is very cold and unfriendly and the bed will leave you in ruins! My recommendation is to save your money, go to a hotel that is a 2 star and you would get the same level of service or get a good recommendation for a real four star hotel. There did not appear to be many people staying at this establishment. When we left the gentleman who was checking us out never said I hoped you enjoyed your stay with us, or how did you enjoy your stay with us. He said you are paid up. No have a nice day or anything. We were there in May when it wasn't hot, yet we had difficulty keeping the room a comfortably cool temperature. I checked out this hotel pretty thoroughly, I thought, before booking as part of a package. The reviews were either 3* or 5*. I'd have to go with the 3*. The issues with temperature control in room 305 have not been fixed even after being reported on other sites several months ago. Ironically, this is apparently considered a better room since it faces […] the street and is larger by London standards. However, besides being uncomfortably hot even in the cool Spring weather, there a minor repairs that have been neglected - missing knobs on the bathroom cabinet, for example, and mold on the shower grout. It is also very noisy despite the double paned glass (more than expected big city noises). After being moved to room 103 which faces the back of another building, we were able to sleep comfortably since the ventilation worked. This room is more typical of London hotels & was cramped. the extra small table and stuffed arm chair made maneuvering around the bed difficult. You also have to open the door completely to enter the bathroom, and the toilet is behind the door. The shower however was clean, and the bathroom drawers had all their knobs. There was minimal closet space. Breakfast was typical continental and may get monotonous after 3 or 4 days. Front desk service wasn't particularly friendly, but was efficient. The fire alarm did go off early one morning due to burnt toast in the breakfast room. Read more
