"Convenient and nice!"
Location near Gloucester Rd tube and while we were there, there was a tube strike. But 74 bus let us off nearly at steps of hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Superior staff - very helpful and kind"
Every concierge and housecleaning Staff - all breakfast servers included Were excellent and accommodating Can recommend hotel in every way Especislly central location close to Msny museums, shopping, and the Tube. Will stay there again - a treat!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The towels, robes and decor etc. of the hotel was pretty old and worn out. The person cleaning room didn't do a good job they left a dirty spoon on night table another time an empty water bottle. The worst of it for me was - I can hear when the room above me flush their toilet which was gross and annoying. I told the front desk they said they said the […] guess was checking out that same day and they will reassign the new guess to another room. I can't imagine no one complain about the toilet the water sound so loud like it was in my room... I would never stayed they again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"It depends of the purpose of your stay"
My husband and I stayed 6 days for our vacation in London. I specifically picked this small hotel because all the good reviews from Hotel.com. I thought we want to experience how English people live. The style of the hotel is very close to other apartments in the neighborhood. But we found out it's bit of disappointing of this hotel. The hotel is small. […] But it's clean for sure. The room (603) we had is on the side of the hotel on the first floor. The only thing you can see are some broken window frame laying against to the well. So the entire week, we didn't open the curtain. Our room is right above the kitchen, every night the smell came from the air pipe. you really feel you sleep in the kitchen. The towels are clean but old and should be replaced. The breakfast is nice but same everyday. I wish they could be little bit different. Think about you eat the same thing for 6 days...The location is close to the tube but is a bit walking distance to all the local pubs and shopping place in Kensington street. There are lots of disappointment for the hotel. but I have to say the front desk people are very good. The gentleman name Shawn, he is extremely helpful. He knows all the good pubs...all his recommendations are great. The only dinner we went on ourselves is a Asian restaurant named "Umami". Do not go there, the food is salty and pricy. Overall, if you are from America and use to the big hotel...chose Holiday Inn or Mariott. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel staff who care"
This little boutique hotel is very well situated near all of the major museums, including the V & A. What distinguishes this hotel are all of the little touches and helpful and pleasant staff. My husband and I arrived to celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary and were upgraded to a beautiful suite. The hotel has terrific breakfasts, champagne in the evenings, […] upscale toiletries, free bottled water and a small gift (lip balm, etc) left at you bedside each day. We will return. "A hotel with a bit of charm"
If you want a hotel with a bit of charm and vintage flavor, this is a good choice. We wanted a place that was not all modernized and indistinguishable from all the others in every city everywhere. Ashburn delivered. The rooms were comfortable, rather spacious by London standards. We had a problem with heat in our room on arrival, but the staff arranged […] a different room for us. "Close to everything, outstanding customer service"
I recently stayed at this hotel for 3 days during our stay in london with my 4 year old daughter and adult step daughter and we all had a great experience. The hotel room was beautiful and plenty spacious for both of us, the bathtub was wonderful, the breakfast was plentiful and great and I have to say the biggest standout was the customer service - […] WHICH WAS OUTSTANDING!! From start to finish - perfect service. The best we experienced in all of London. They also have free champagne in the lobby at 7 (they also have a fabulous Chilean Pinot Noir, fyi) and the concierge offered us champagne early since we were leaving for the night. We will be back when we are next in London! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

My husband and I spent 4 nights in this hotel and really enjoyed it. The room was cute, quiet and comfortable. We would definitely consider staying there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, nice room"
I like this part of London to stay. The room was very nice(number 15). The included breakfast was very nice. Would recommend to anyone.Genuine Expedia guest review
This was our second stay at the Ashburn Hotel. It's in a wonderful location, about one block from the tube. The neighborhood is quiet. Very good restaurants are nearby. The staff at this hotel is very helpful and pleasant. Nice Continental breakfast. Would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Star Rating "2""
I was very impressed with the hotel's location but not it's star rating. I think it deserves a 3 and 2 star rating. The staff were somewhat rude and annoyed with our questions of recommendation of places to eat and sites to see. They spoke English with a heavy accent so that if we asked them to repeat; they seemed annoyed except a couple to say the […] least that seemed helpful. The hotel rooms looked somewhat shaggy and were not well maintained ( AC and bathroom vents were not functioning properly) and even when staff had been notified; no follow through was attempted. "Excellent hotel very close to Central London"
Excellent non-chain hotel close to Central London. Just a block away from some of the very best (and free!) museums (Natural History and V&A). Less than 5 minute walk from the Tube station (Gloucester road station). You can save a bunch on airport transportation by taking the Piccadilly line from Heathrow (all terminals). Room was quite nice - they […] gave us a free upgrade to a superior deluxe room which was bigger. Room amenities were about right for the price - nothing too fancy but nothing too shabby either. Their daily breakfast buffet was pretty decent. Love the English tea. Overall, highly recommend staying here if you want to be close to Central London and want a lovely "English" experience :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Beautiful, close to everything and wonderful staff"
My daughter was on her study abroad and I came for a mid summer visit. I knew she would be tired of dorm life and wanted to book some place "special". It was perfect. Great rooms. Spotlessly clean and lovely breakfast. White linen tablecloths. PerfectGenuine Expedia guest review
"NO AIR CONDITIONING, HENCE LOW SCORE"
We arrived and had been given a room at the rear 'with air con', but we opted for a front facing room with broken air con, but with portable air con unit. This was good until the traffic noise kept us awake. It was to be fixed the next day. This didn't happen, and floors 2 and 3 remained 'very warm'. The air con unit leaked onto the carpet, which we […] told the staff about, but to no avail. It was like Fawlty towers with the staff sometimes, but they were efficient and polite to guests. The hotel is in a great position, even got to see the royals going to visit the new arrival. In all, the hotel was very pleasant and the continental breakfast was very very nice, better than the cooked breakfast. Due to the air con break down, all those guests received free drinks in the bar, very nice touch. Thank you Ashburn hotel. Nearest tube, Gloucester Road, 100 yards away. "Love the Ashburn"
Our third stay at the Ashburn and we will keep coming back. The location is fantastic and the rooms are very comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Ashburn Hotel is in a very good location to the tubes, restaurants and local shopping. We arrived later in the night and we were put in a hotel room without functioning air conditioning--did I read about Room 202 before I booked this post? Any way next day we were moved to another room with air conditioning and a larger room (upgraded)..Genuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely small British Hotel."
Our room was clean and quiet with a comfortable bed. The shower was great as were the thick towels. The complementary glass of champagne was a nice touch.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Pros and Cons"
The hotel has some nice aspects, and some that are not great. The room we stayed in was in the basement, and in the hall way, there was a slight odor of mold/mildew -- but our room was fine. The room had an air conditioning unit that was VERY loud and ran continuously, perhaps to prevent mold. The carpeting/tile was kind of odd, but the room decore […] was great. The rates were decent, and all in all it was okay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"near to all tube lines for optimum travel"
The hotel desk receptionist on duty during our entire stay, Timea, was GREAT. Also the concierge, Steve, was very helpful. Would return there without doubt. Good value in a very nice B&B hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
hotel was very consumer oriented, and service was very good.amenities were good, and glass of champagne every evening was a plus. concierge was very helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed here for three nights (5/30-6/2/2013). Hotel is very convenient to Underground. The staff were all very helpful.......the reception was flawless with Expedia reservations. The concierge recommended excellent restaurants in the area and aided with tour bookings and taxi rides to airport. The evening champagne in the drawing room was charming and […] the bartender was always willing to try to accomodate other drink requests. The rooms are well appointed with upscale soaps, shampoos, etc. The breakfast buffet is held in a lovely room downstairs and the waitstaff were always cheerful and efficient. The neighborhood is upscale and safe with variety of eating establishments and grocery store nearby. The young woman at reception went above the call to assist with boarding passes for us even going to an adjoining property to print what I needed. Internet is free to all guests as well which is a bonus. Would recommend this hotel to anyone. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A very comfortable hotel in a great location"
Just a short distance from Gloucester Road underground station and the Piccadilly line with direct connections to St. Pancras station (for Eurostar) and Heathrow airport, this hotel is in a great location. "Loved it here"
My daughter and I stayed here for four days and were very satisfied with our stay. It is just around the corner from the Gloucester Rd tube station and the Hop on, Hop off bus tour. We found the staff pleasant and helpful. We had a small problem with the heat in our room, which was promptly and creatively handled. Breakfast was included with our room, […] and was more than adequate: fruit, juices, cheese, meats, pastries, toast and coffee served in French press coffee makers. There are many pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance (including Burger King and KFC if you need a fast food fix). I would definitely stay at The Ashburn again. "Quality Boutique Hotel in Kensington"
This is a enjoyable boutique hotel (38 rooms) in a fine location which feels almost like a home away from home. We had a spacious corner room on the top floor (6th) with a good view of the V&A in the distance. And it was one block from the tube and walking distance to Herrods.Genuine Expedia guest review
Staff was helpful and friendly. Good breakfast. Close to the Underground and shops. Only real improvement needed is new carpeting.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very convenient Location to underground and sights"
We will definitely come back to stay and recommend the hotel to others.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms were small, but nice. My daughter and I had asked for 2 twin beds away from the elevator which we received. The climate controls worked well. The beds were a little hard for us, but that was a personal preference. Our view was wonderful. We arrived at 9 AM and the staff was glad to store our luggage and had it delivered to the room when it […] was ready so we could begin our vacation. This is not a cheap hotel, but London is not cheap, and you get what you pay for. Not quite as fancy as I might have expected for the price, but no problems. A little road noise, but perfectly acceptable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Charming small hotel in great location"
We stayed here on two separate occasions during a recent trip to London. The first time we had a fairly large room overlooking the street. On the second stay, we had a very small room - it was hard to find a place to put our things. Both rooms were pleasant and had many amenities. nice hotel for the money - Beds could be more comfortable but very clean and nice locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times. You cannot beat its location both for access to Heathrow (tube station is 5 mins away) and the Knightsbridge area/rest of London. There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by but just far enough away that you don't have to deal with the noise. The staff are exceptionally helpful and very knowledgeable. "A fantastic value in London"
Great rooms. Excellent Service. Free Wi-Fi, Free Breakfast and Queen Beds all at a reasonable price! The hotel is very close to the Piccadilly Line station, bus stops and the hop-on, hop-off tour buses. There are many restaurants around, and even a small supermarket. It is within walking distance to Kensington Gardens and a few other attractions, other […] things are a quick hop on the tube to central London. Getting there from Heathrow airport was an easy 30 minute ride on the tube (no transfers needed). The concierge was very helpful with theater reservations and other tickets. The only thing I would change is the shower door. It was very hard to move and never closed quite completely so there was some splashing. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Third Year in a Row at the Ashburn"
This was the 3rd year in a row I stayed at the Ashburn. This hotel is perfect for me. It's close to the Tube (Gloucester Road station, Picadilly Line goes to/from Heathrow), very comfortable and attractive, and they serve breakfast on site. There are restaurants, supermarkets, and novelty shops all within easy walking distance. Knightsbridge (Harrod's!) We upgraded to the "king" room, which only implies that the room it's self is larger and has a bathtub. I understand that all beds are the same size, only room size differs with the descriptions; "queen" room is smaller and only has a shower. Breakfast offerings were delicious, served promptly and reasonably priced; staff was very helpful and friendly. […] The bar/lounge was a nice respite after a busy day.
