"Nice hotel close to the Gloucester Road Tube stop"
I stayed for one night at the Ashburn. It is located close to the Gloucester Road Tube stop, which means that it is easy to get there from the airport. What I didn't realize when I booked is that until later this month, the Picadilly line from the airport isn't stopping at the Gloucester Road stop because they are making repairs. All the same, the bed […] was large and the room was more than adequate in size. The staff were very kind and helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Maid Service Lacking"
Staff was wonderful, very helpful, location was perfect. Maid service not so good. Empty bottles, newspapers never removed from our room amd we were there a week. Lots of water, and soda bottles by end of week. As is typical in Europe room was small.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Friendly, helpful staff & close to public Transp."
My wife and I very much enjoyed our 8-day stay at the Ashburn Hotel on Cromwell Road. The best part is that the staff are eager to be helpful and, during our stay, they accomplished their goal. The room, while small by American standards, was clean, comfortable and quiet even though we were on the first floor overlooking Cromwell Road. Free, reasonably […] fast, wireless internet access was also appreciated. Each morning began with a free continental breakfast complete with a variety of cheeses, fruits, breads, pastries as well as the coffee (french press), tea and juices. Daily tourist activities were plentiful and easy due to the good humor and knowledge of the Concierge, Shahram N. The Ashburn is close to the Underground's Glouster and Earls Court terminals which made journeys to any destination quick and easy. BTW, Earls Court travels directly to and from Heathrow, so cabs, buses and the like are a waste of money. A sparkling refreshment was offered and welcomed each evening as a fitting conclusion. Overall, the Ashburn facility and staff made a very favorable impression on my wife and I. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nive Hotel, good location."
We stayed here for 5 days and enjoyed our stay. The staff is really nice and did everything possible for us. The breakfast room is pretty and the food is good. The rooms are large for London hotels. Very clean. Good location between Gloucester Road and Earl's Court tubes and plenty of buses on Cromwell road. Very convenient.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Wonderful place to stay"
This is is a solid 4.5 star hotel. The staff are very attentive and friendly but not intrusive. The rooms are very comfortable, with a kind of understated elegance. The lobby is perhaps, a little small, but very cosy and well appointed. Breakfasts are not to be missed, if only for the tea and coffee (and the fresh fruit, low fat yogurt, oatmeal packets, […] dried fruits, toast and jams etc. etc.). "Good hotel. But..."
Our "superior" room was small. For example there was room for a night stand only at one side of the bed. The other side faced the wall. Toilet was placed in such a way that the bathroom door could only be opened partially, making it hard for a second person to enter it if someone was using the sink. Otherwise a clean hotel. Good breakfast. Nice people. […] Good location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet and comfortable"
The Ashburn is conveniently located, attractive, comfortable and everyone in the hotel was pleasant and helpful. It's small so you aren't dealing with hordes of people at breakfast or room noise at night. It is elegant with none of the wear and tear many other area hotels display. The front desk responded immediately to our requests and the staff was […] always ready to help. The only downside: Gloucester Road, the nearest Underground Station, has no lifts, so this is not a good choice if you have heavy luggage. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Calm amid London's hubbub."
We had a wonderful 4 days at the Ashburn. The location is in a quiet but very convenient area of Kensington, with the Gloucester Street tube station just a block away. Restaurants of all types and pubs are all within an easy walk. Continental breakfast is very good, and if you want add-ons, the price is quite reasonable. We didn't order the house pizza […] later in the day, but it sure smelled good! The atmosphere of the hotel is calm but not stuffy, the personable staff always greeting you whether you were coming or going. So much nicer than the huge noisy reception areas of the chains. "Wonderful London Getaway"
When breakfast is "included," I would prefer a full English breakfast, not the buffet of fruit, breads, yogurt, cheeses, cereals, and breakfast meats. Other than that, great location ( a block to the tube), well-air conditioned, and quite comfortable. Service was excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice hotel close to public transportation!"
The hotel staff was exceptional, especially the conciege on duty when we arrived. He was extremely helpful when it came to tours, buses, and trains. He could even quote which train to get on, which platform to get that train, and where to get off or transfer trains. Concierge even went as far to make transportation accommodations to the airport at the […] end of my stay. Continental breakfast was reasonable, and there was a nice variety. "Nice hotel. Good location."
We stayed 2 separate times during our trip to UK. Both times were good experiences. The staff were very helpful by checking in for our flight & printing our boarding passes. The breakfast was very good & tasty. Serving breakfast until 11 during the weekend was really nice. That allowed us to get a little extra sleep & not have to rush.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Lovely, immaculate boutique in great area"
Knowing nothing about London, and overwhelmed by the choices, we paid attention to expedia reviews and selected the Ashburn. We were thrilled with this choice. It is perfectly located in Kensington/Chelsea area, less than two blocks from a tube stop. Triple sheeted beds, bathrobes and slippers; electric tea kettle with tea and coffee and chocolate selections. […] Each day, housekeeping would leave some complimentary treat on the night stand - bath salts one day, mints the next. The included! breakfast is sit down, with white table cloths and all kinds of wonderful food choices. The WiFi is free. We selected a small room, but it was comfortable and the bathtub/shower combo was terrific. Great toiletries. Staff willing to help with anything. And QUIET. Will stay there again for sure. "Beautiful hotel in the heart of London"
We came to the Ashburn Hotel (unforunitely the closest tube stop, Glouster Road was closed due to work being done on it the whole time we were there) and had to walk about 1/2 mile from the next closest tube stop, South Kensington. We found our room on the 2nd floor to be Spacious, very comfortable and beyond our expectations. It was beautifully decorated. […] Service was great. Located a short block from a major tube station make everything in London easily accessible, especially with a tube pass that you can purchase on-line from home and avoid the substantial ticke line. "Ashburn in Kensington."

The towels, robes and decor etc. of the hotel was pretty old and worn out. The person cleaning room didn't do a good job they left a dirty spoon on night table another time an empty water bottle. "It depends of the purpose of your stay"
My husband and I stayed 6 days for our vacation in London. I specifically picked this small hotel because all the good reviews from Hotel.com. I thought we want to experience how English people live. The style of the hotel is very close to other apartments in the neighborhood. But we found out it's bit of disappointing of this hotel. The hotel is small. […] But it's clean for sure. The room (603) we had is on the side of the hotel on the first floor. The only thing you can see are some broken window frame laying against to the well. So the entire week, we didn't open the curtain. Our room is right above the kitchen, every night the smell came from the air pipe. you really feel you sleep in the kitchen. The towels are clean but old and should be replaced. The breakfast is nice but same everyday. I wish they could be little bit different. Think about you eat the same thing for 6 days...The location is close to the tube but is a bit walking distance to all the local pubs and shopping place in Kensington street. There are lots of disappointment for the hotel. but I have to say the front desk people are very good. The gentleman name Shawn, he is extremely helpful. He knows all the good pubs...all his recommendations are great. The only dinner we went on ourselves is a Asian restaurant named "Umami". Do not go there, the food is salty and pricy. Overall, if you are from America and use to the big hotel...chose Holiday Inn or Mariott. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Star Rating "2""
I was very impressed with the hotel's location but not it's star rating. I think it deserves a 3 and 2 star rating. The staff were somewhat rude and annoyed with our questions of recommendation of places to eat and sites to see. They spoke English with a heavy accent so that if we asked them to repeat; they seemed annoyed except a couple to say the […] least that seemed helpful. "Excellent hotel very close to Central London"
Excellent non-chain hotel close to Central London. Just a block away from some of the very best (and free!) museums (Natural History and V&A). Room was quite nice - they […] gave us a free upgrade to a superior deluxe room which was bigger. Room amenities were about right for the price - nothing too fancy but nothing too shabby either. "NO AIR CONDITIONING, HENCE LOW SCORE"
We arrived and had been given a room at the rear 'with air con', but we opted for a front facing room with broken air con, but with portable air con unit. This was good until the traffic noise kept us awake. It was to be fixed the next day. This didn't happen, and floors 2 and 3 remained 'very warm'. The air con unit leaked onto the carpet, which we […] told the staff about, but to no avail. It was like Fawlty towers with the staff sometimes, but they were efficient and polite to guests. The hotel is in a great position, even got to see the royals going to visit the new arrival. In all, the hotel was very pleasant and the continental breakfast was very very nice, better than the cooked breakfast. Due to the air con break down, all those guests received free drinks in the bar, very nice touch. Thank you Ashburn hotel. Nearest tube, Gloucester Road, 100 yards away.
