"A very comfortable hotel in a great location"
Just a short distance from Gloucester Road underground station and the Piccadilly line with direct connections to St. Pancras station (for Eurostar) and Heathrow airport, this hotel is in a great location. It has a very pleasant interior and helpful staff. There are good restaurants in the area. The continental breakfast was good.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel in Kensington"
Close to the underground, convenient nice neighborhood. Staff a bit cold.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Loved it here"
My daughter and I stayed here for four days and were very satisfied with our stay. It is just around the corner from the Gloucester Rd tube station and the Hop on, Hop off bus tour. We found the staff pleasant and helpful. We had a small problem with the heat in our room, which was promptly and creatively handled. Breakfast was included with our room, […] and was more than adequate: fruit, juices, cheese, meats, pastries, toast and coffee served in French press coffee makers. There are many pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance (including Burger King and KFC if you need a fast food fix). I would definitely stay at The Ashburn again. "Quality Boutique Hotel in Kensington"
This is a enjoyable boutique hotel (38 rooms) in a fine location which feels almost like a home away from home. We had a spacious corner room on the top floor (6th) with a good view of the V&A in the distance. And it was one block from the tube and walking distance to Herrods.Genuine Expedia guest review
Staff was helpful and friendly. Good breakfast. Close to the Underground and shops. Only real improvement needed is new carpeting.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very convenient Location to underground and sights"
We will definitely come back to stay and recommend the hotel to others.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms were small, but nice. My daughter and I had asked for 2 twin beds away from the elevator which we received. The climate controls worked well. The beds were a little hard for us, but that was a personal preference. Our view was wonderful. We arrived at 9 AM and the staff was glad to store our luggage and had it delivered to the room when it […] was ready so we could begin our vacation. Since we booked early, we received a complimentary breakfast daily. It was very good. We had many tourist type questions which were answered on a daily basis by the concierge. He gave us directions for tube stations, rail stations, and tourist attractions. He was a blessing! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This is not a cheap hotel, but London is not cheap, and you get what you pay for. Not quite as fancy as I might have expected for the price, but no problems. A little road noise, but perfectly acceptable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good choice for London"
This is a great little boutique hotel which is focused on customer service and quality. Pleasant change from the huge places I normally stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Charming small hotel in great location"
We stayed here on two separate occasions during a recent trip to London. The first time we had a fairly large room overlooking the street. On the second stay, we had a very small room - it was hard to find a place to put our things. Both rooms were pleasant and had many amenities. There were many choices for the continental breakfast which was included […] in the room price. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Place in Kensington"
Nice service. Clean, comfortable room, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Close to Gloucester train stop. Close to both nice local and fast food restaurants chance. Neighborhood is fine but not as active in the evening as other parts of the city. Overall, I would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good night stay"
Very nice room but the breakfast was lacking in varietyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient, accessible, and affordable"
A very nice hotel and convenient to Kensington and to the Gloucester Road tube station. I would personally stay again and for longer.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A great choice for your London stay"
The hotel and its staff were wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
GOOD PLACE I LIKED THE COMPLEMENTARY DRINK EVERY DAY ROOMS ARE CLEAN BUT SMALL AS MOST OF CENTRAL LONDON HOTELS I DO NOT LIKE THE TV ( only 20 channels ) GOOD BREAKFAST AND HOTEL GAVE ME AN OPTION TO HAVE COMPLEMENTARY EGG DISH SINCE THEY DO NOT OFFER HALAL MEAT. overall it was good choise and I will sure book againGenuine Expedia guest review
nice hotel for the money - Beds could be more comfortable but very clean and nice locationGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times. You cannot beat its location both for access to Heathrow (tube station is 5 mins away) and the Knightsbridge area/rest of London. There are plenty of bars and restaurants close by but just far enough away that you don't have to deal with the noise. The staff are exceptionally helpful and very knowledgeable. "A fantastic value in London"
Great rooms. Excellent Service. Free Wi-Fi, Free Breakfast and Queen Beds all at a reasonable price! The hotel is very close to the Piccadilly Line station, bus stops and the hop-on, hop-off tour buses. There are many restaurants around, and even a small supermarket. It is within walking distance to Kensington Gardens and a few other attractions, other […] things are a quick hop on the tube to central London. Getting there from Heathrow airport was an easy 30 minute ride on the tube (no transfers needed). The concierge was very helpful with theater reservations and other tickets. The only thing I would change is the shower door. It was very hard to move and never closed quite completely so there was some splashing. I would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Third Year in a Row at the Ashburn"
This was the 3rd year in a row I stayed at the Ashburn. This hotel is perfect for me. It's close to the Tube (Gloucester Road station, Picadilly Line goes to/from Heathrow), very comfortable and attractive, and they serve breakfast on site. There are restaurants, supermarkets, and novelty shops all within easy walking distance. Knightsbridge (Harrod's!) We upgraded to the "king" room, which only implies that the room it's self is larger and has a bathtub. I understand that all beds are the same size, only room size differs with the descriptions; "queen" room is smaller and only has a shower. Breakfast offerings were delicious, served promptly and reasonably priced; staff was very helpful and friendly. […] The bar/lounge was a nice respite after a busy day. "plugs near a mirror!!!!!!"
Your service is second to none and we would stay again in a heartbeat! I just didn't get why you had no plugs for hairdryers near a mirror? I get why they aren't in the bathroom, for safety, but I am severely nearsighted and had to look clear across the room and do my hair using the mirrors on the closet doors. It was very frustrating. "Great hotel with a great location"
We loved the Ashburn hotel. The room was surprisingly large (a twin room) and spotlessly clean. The amenities were as described, e.g. robes, slippers, breakfast, small refrigerator in the room, etc. The hotel was very close to the tube - about 1 1/2 blocks and we felt very safe walking around the area. Next to the tube were a grocery store, and a Boots […] pharmacy. We very much appreciated the services of the two concierges who were very helpful and the young lady who served as receptionist. "Really- this place was superb!"
I had an amazing experience at this hotel. I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a King size room. The view was of the city road and was really breathtaking for someone new to the city. I loved the setup of the room and though that the bathroom was great. I had lots of room. I was able to walk to the Underground system in about 5 minutes. There is a […] lovely grocery store nearby on the way to the Underground. The area is great. There are some restaurants, a souvenir shop with a post office, and a charity shop nearby with amazing finds (called Zara). The hotel's concierge was amazing. I was able to catch a show for half price while I was in town. I also though that the breakfast was amazingly good. One night I ordered a light meal off the room service menu. The food came quickly and was really tasty. I would love to stay here again next time. Really- this place was superb! Worth every penny (or pence ;) ) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
A lovely hotel...small and perfectly located between two tube stops and loads of charming, small restaurants. It is just a 9 block walk to the V & A and natural history museum. "A faux boutique hotel, beware!"
This hotel appears to be an upscale boutique hotel but it is anything but! We booked this hotel based on the the reviews written here and were very disappointed. While the rooms are tastefully decorated and the bathroom is done quite well, the mattress and bedding is more like a Hotel 1, Cheap and very uncomfortable. We asked at the receiption for a […] room with a better mattress and was told that this is the mattress that is in every room. The food was horrible. For a boutique hotel the food is on the level of a one star US hotel. The soup was, I believe, canned and the bread resembled that of spongy wonder bread. The morning continental breakfast consisted of packaged baked goods, wonder bread for toast and boxes of cereal. The carpeting in the hallway and in the stairwell was old and dirty. At the end of a long day of sight seeing this hotel is very cold and unfriendly and the bed will leave you in ruins! My recommendation is to save your money, go to a hotel that is a 2 star and you would get the same level of service or get a good recommendation for a real four star hotel. There did not appear to be many people staying at this establishment. When we left the gentleman who was checking us out never said I hoped you enjoyed your stay with us, or how did you enjoy your stay with us. He said you are paid up. No have a nice day or anything. Very unhappy people. Beware! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Location & Helpful Staff"
Access to the Tube, museums, a Waitrose grocery, and parks was excellent. Staff members were helpful; the internet connection was always robust; and the continental breakfast was good, varied, and ample. Having a paper at the door each morning was a plus as were the Gilchrist & Soames bath products. Our room was smaller than other reviews seemed to […] suggest, fairly typical of British and European rooms. We would only stay there again if we could book one of the larger rooms. In an attempt to include a desk, small table, comfy chair, etc., the room was too crowded with furniture --- even for us with only carry-on luggage. Other than that, a pleasant hotel in a nice area. Nice and clean hotel, the rooms were a decent size and well kept. The location is superb as it is a 2 minute walk to the Gloucester Road tube station. This hotel is ideal for everyone and well recommended.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent choice for a London visit!"
The Ashburn is just around the corner from the underground (Circle, District and Piccadilly lines.) Staff were exceptionally courteous, professional and helpful. Complimentary champagne in the evening; delicious and very good selection for breakfast. Kensington is a marvelous area and a wonderful choice of locale as its still in zones 1 and 2 on the […] tube. "Great Hotel --- Just make sure the heat works"
Great hotel, decent size rooms, showers, and great amenities. Very close to the tube and near some good pubs and restaurants. BUt overall service was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great homebase for sightseeing"
This was our first visit to London and we had a lovely stay at the Ashburn. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet provided a good start to our busy days. "wonderful, convenient hotel"
convenient, clean, friendly, with small but doable roomsGenuine Expedia guest review
Small, comfortable hotel in a great location with an extremely friendly staff. Within one block was a full grocery, several excellent restaurants, and the Gloucester tube stop which services lines to the major attractions. "Lovely boutique hotel in a great location"
The Ashburn is a block away from the Gloucester Road tube station and about a 10 minute walk to the V&A and Natural History Museums. Hyde Park and Kensington High Street are about a 15-20 minute walk. The rooms are clean and a bit roomier than the average London hotel room. Some of the hall carpets are beginning to look a little shabby, but on the whole […] the hotel is very clean. The staff is very helpful, pleasant, and knowledgeable (I witnessed a concierge provide bus information for the Mayfair area off the top of his head). "So Close to Gloucester Road Underground"
Hotel staff most helpful. We had difficulty running off our boarding passes for next flight and the lovely girl on the desk persisted until she got what we needed. Great location - nice staff and charming hotel room. Big room by London standard. Carpet can do a bit of a clean and some paint job wouldn't hurt. However the longer you stay the more you are subjected to its charm.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very enjoyable stay"
We booked the Ashburn Hotel as it was close enough to the Royal Albert Hall and we, being reasonably fit, could walk there and back.
