"Great choice!"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Price and location were right. Grounds and maintainance inside and out were above average....flowers blooming everywhere! Front desk friendly and efficient. Room spacious and well appointed with 2 Q beds and new, big, flat screen TV (room 301). Towels were not lush, but there were 4 of them, so no issues!

"2 nights in Vancouver."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 4, 2012
Hotel was very clean and new. Hotel is in middle of Chinatown so you won't see many chain restaurants or food other than very traditional Asian.

"Friendly Staff"
Friendly staff, the room was clean, adequate accommadations.
"good budget hotel"
This is a budget hotel. If you are just looking for a place to stay for the night at a good price, then this is it. No Frills.
"Perfect hotel for the money"
It is very clean, and nice place. 10 minutes drive from every attraction point in Vancouver. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was eatable.
"Good experience"
The beds were very comfortable. The rooms were clean and large enough. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.
"Great accomodation for the money"
The hotel is in North Vancouver, obviously from its name, but this means that a significant body of sea water has to be crossed to get to Vancouver proper. This is done by getting on to the Lions Gate Bridge which is a few blocks from the hotel. This is incredibly convenient and brings with it the much lower rates of North Vancouver. The Lions Gate […] Bridge is, however, incredibly congested at times which means waiting in the very traffic one takes a vacation to get away from. We found the 6-8 AM traffic almost non-existent. The hotel is nothing spectacular, but the rooms are nice, large and comfortable. The free breakfast includes eggs, waffles, bagels, toast, juice, coffee, tea all which you make or pour yourself. The breakfast room is a crowded collection of guests from multiple countries checking toasters and waffle irons. And, more of a surprise! - many of the attractions a visitor wants to see in Vancouver are on the North Side of the Bay - Lynn Canyon, Grouse Mountain, Horseshoe Bay, Whistler, and if you wish to fall for this tourist trap, the Capilano Suspension bridge. Compared to other hotels we checked out - the North Vancouver Hotel is an incredible deal. Read more
"Good hotel for the money"
Nice, clean hotel and good location north of the city. Many good restaurants within 10 minute drive. Very close to Grouse Mountain and the Capilano Suspension Bridge.

"needs improvement"
Very small bathroom, no hairdryer, needs to be updated, felt old and dingy.Free breakfest was plentyfull but the room was to small, guests bumped into each other.
"dump"
room smelled like mold, a/c didn't work well. door to hotel room had huge gaps in it so you could actually see outside witht he door "shut". the free breakfast included waffles, bagels, cereal, juice, coffee, toast..lots to choose from...but in a tiny room that you can't even move in. there were probably 15 people in this room no where to sit. it wasn't […] the end of the world, we took our food back to our room...but not exactly what we expected. I would also like to point out...that I am not one of those people that need exteme clean or luxury in a hotel. If I was I would't have been staying at this hotel to begin with. It really was a bad hotel...and I can put up with a lot! our room was non refundable and we had pre paid (it's non refundable because otherwise everyone would check in and check right back out) and we couldn't afford to walk on on the $ we paid already and go pay for another hotel. "Good experience overall"
Nothing fancy about this hotel, but the room was clean and quiet the price is much better than in the downtown Vancouver area. Rooms come with mini fridge and microwave. Three separate buildings with two floors and outdoor corridors. Free parking. Great location if you are visiting Stanley Park, the Capilano bridge and the Grouse Mountain areas, and […] there are lots of good restaurants in the area to choose from. The Lions Gate bridge leading into downtown Vancouver is only a couple of minutes from the hotel. The only complaint we had was the tiny breakfast area next to the lobby. Plan on bringing your waffles and other breakfast items back to the room with you, because there probably won't be an open table unless you get there early. Read more
"Needs improvement."
The hotel was an old Best Western that had attempts at updating. (Still using some of its stationary, etc.) It was a $50 taxi ride from the air port and in the middle of nowhere. No place to eat or shop, not within walking distance of anything. The room was very small and cramped. Staff was not very friendly.
"very good hotel."
you will don not regret ...
"Everything was as expected."
All staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice. My family and I were happy there.
"Very Nice Staff"
I would stay with them again. The staff was very helpful with all request.

"Outstanding hotel for the money"
We were very impressed with the room. The beds were very comfy and the room was spotless. The only issue we had was the hotel was full and the breakfast room was too small. I would recommend this to anyone for the value received.

"OKAY hotel"
Had to pay for use of computer and it didn't work very well - staff were helpful but they were also frustrated with computer. Breakfast was just okay - nothing exceptional

"Best North Vancouver Hotel"
The hotel offers great breakfast with waffles. There is a computer that you can get online if necessary oppositing from the front desk.

"The North Vancouver Hotel."
Our stay was very comfortable. The room was clean and warm and the breakfast was amazing. I'd reccommend it anytime.
"Hotel North Vancouver estimate"
Good hotel near grouse mountains. Only 10 minutes drive from Vancouver city. Clean. Good breakfast. Off season price was very compatible. Recomended.
Only complaints: towels looked dirty, the bathroom fan didn't work well, and breakfast wasn't all that great. But hey, it was free with the room so whatever.
"North Van Hotel - dissatisfied"
This did not meet my expectations of a 3 star hotel. The room was either freezing cold or boiling hot and the heater clanked away all night. The buffet breakfast was poor at best. The bagels were stale each and every day, one day there was bacon but no eggs and the next day only eggs. The coffee was terrible. The redeeming features were the easy wifi […] access in the room and the location was convenient to Hwy 99 into Vancouver and West Vancouver, plus lots of services on Marine Drive, i.e. Save-On Foods, BC Liquor, Starbucks, Tim Hortons and restaurants. However, next time would try one of the other hotels on that road. Read more
"Short overnight stop"
We only spent a short time at this hotel but for what we wanted it was just fine. Room was not luxurious but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and locatoin convenient for access to Hwy 99 to Whistler.
"North Vancouver Hotel"
Owner was very ignorant and unhelpful, room was freezing cold even though heat was turned up to 85 degrees. No quilts or extra blankets offered in room, had three kids sleep in their clothes to keep warm. Advice - stay at the travellodge a few doors down, may be a few more dollars but at least the people are friendly and you will get some sleep. This […] was the worst night I have ever spent in a hotel. Read more
"North Shore Hotel"
Convenient location with free internet, parking and breakfast. However, hot water was a bit of a problem and had trouble getting any in the morning.
"North Vancouver Hotel"
This hotel worked for us because of its central location in Vancouver. The hotel is a bit old and the decor a bit tired. But, you can't expect a lot for the price we paid. The room was clean and comfortable, very basic amenities.
"Not Bad"
Rooms were clean for a nights stay and location not too far off the beaten track. Would stay again
"North Vancouver Hotel"
Perfect location for our needs - pleasant staff, clean, incl. breakfast which was not expected. Older hotel but very well kept considering age.. Good beds but needed extra blanket which was quickly provided by office. I would stay again & would recommend.
"value for moeny"
just a quick 2 day business trip to Vancouver (North & West) and this hotel is conveniently located and offered a decent rate. Adequate room and handy to have a self service breakfast set-up. Minor negative point is the fact that all guests park their vehicles in the courtyard outside the downstairs rooms. Some guests made a nuisance of themselves by […] selfishly let their car engine "warm up" at 6 AM! When requested, the hotel staff took care of noisy guests having a 'party' outside our room after midnight. Read more
The only thing i found upsetting is the breakfast only ran untill 9:30 when checkout is 11
"Comfortable room but terrible breakfast"
Clean and comfortable motel-style room with entrance to the room directly from the parking area. Check-in clerk was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included in the room rate but was not worth it. The quality of food was not acceptable -- all served on paper plates in a cramped room that looked like a big closet. If you choose to stay here, go somewhere […] else for breakfast. Read more
"Breakfast was a pleasant surprise."
Close to the bridge to Stanley park and Capilano Suspension Bridge. It's a little "tired" but value for your money. They have a nice complimentary breakfast (pancakes, bacon, waffels, toast, cereals, fruit, etc.).
"nice hotel"
good service friendly staff and big rooms
We enjoyed staying at the North Vancouver Hotel. It was a very clean and quiet place. What we were really impressed with was, the Breakfast every morning. We've stayed at many places and there usually wasn't a Breakfast at all. That was a bonus, as, we were set for the most part of the day after that. Everything was at arm's length such as Gas Station, […] stores etc. If we ever need a Motel in Vancouver again, this is where we would stay, thankyou. Sincerely, Sonja Read more
