W stayed at the Rimrock for a romantic weekend getaway - and what a perfect choice. The hotel is a few steps away from the hot springs, and just a 5 minute drive into d/t Banff. The bed was amazing, the food was great, the spa was fantastic, and the hotel's pool/hot tub/sauna were complete bonuses! Clean throughout, this hotel is very well kept. We will stay at the Rimrock the next time we come to Banff :).

We went for breakfast our first morning at the hotel. Our first clue should have been the empty dining room. We ordered the buffet. The eggs were cool and rubbery. The food overall was not very good and the charge was $60. We did not go back to eat at the Rimrock again. We found lots of options in town.

The Banff Springs Hotel gets all the press, and it is indeed a beautiful hotel with great history and a great location right on the Bow River. After reading some reviews and ratings, we decided to give the Rimrock a try. For the price, it was an outstanding value. Service was wonderful, location was away from the hustle and bustle, a very quiet location. The room was very well appointed and very clean. The hotel is beginning to show it's age just a bit, and the room needed some minor maintenance items to bring it up to date (shower curtain, fixtures, overall fit and finish). We would highly recommend the Rimrock, and would stay there again on a trip to Banff in the future.

The Rimrock Resort reminds me of the fine luxury hotels in Europe. The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only negative comment is that the food is a little on the pricey side. This hotel is worth your consideration if you plan to vacation in Banff. It is located close to town and next to the Sulphur Mountain gondola. It certainly deserves it's 4 star rating.

You can also order drinks and light lunch/dinner here and simply relax and chat with friends. It's like being in your living room with lots of extra perks!

We arrived at our hotel at 2pm and were told that the room was not guaranteed until 4pm. As we have a baby we asked if the room could be ready earlier. The receptionist was not interested in helping us at all. She called housekeeping and asked us to wait for a reply. After about 20 minutes we decided to leave and asked her to call us back. We came back to the hotel at 4.30pm and had received no phone call from the hotel. Our room was assigned only to discover that they when we got to the room there were other people in it. They had obviously given our room away to other guests with kids who wanted it earlier too. The told us that they had upgraded us to a better room. We had paid for a superior room, yet one side overlooked the recycling center and the valley view was partially blocked by a tree. They gave us 2 coupons for free drinks at the bar...which didn't help me as I am pregnant. Checking out was extremely slow too. The hotel itself is beautiful and a lovely venue but I have read many reviews on the rude staff...
