Perfect location!!! Right on the beach and a block from Main St. My wife and I slept better in the hotel bed then our own! The only down side was the staff they forgot to schedule pick up from the airport and their were one or two airheads on the staff. But if I were to go back to Port Douglas there's no way I'm not staying @ the Peninsula Boutique […] Hotel it's a little slice of heaven. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location, a bit over priced"
Great location. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants, 4-mile beach, and marina. Although having a kitchen was nice, the wood slat bathroom door did not provide any sound privacy. All in all a good spot if you can get a good price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We loved it! Personal service, perfect location. Very charming. A little piece of paradise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Quiet lovely hotel a hop skip and jump away from 4 mile beach. stunning views , nice staff and great breakfast. Ocean view suite to die for!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location but expensive for what you got"
The location was great being right in the center of town and across the road from the beach. Going to sleep and waking up with the sound of the ocean was so nice. The hotel itself was fine but way too expensive for what you got. We stayed for 7 nights and payed $350 per night! That's more than I pay per night for the hotels in Times Square New York! […] Very hard to justify that kind of price and expected a lot more for that kind of money. I would not stay there again for that price. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel in a great location"
We had a fabulous stay. You cannot have a better base from which to explore the area and the quality of accommodation was excellent - rooms were clean and comfortable, hotel service was friendly and helpful and the location within walking distance to Port Douglas main street and across the road from the beach. Breakfast was excellent - although for […] a hotel of this calibre something larger than a 2 slice toaster might be a worthwhile investment to minimise guest waiting time. The only fault was the hit and miss internet access during our stay but otherwise second to none. If we ever come back up this way we will definitely be staying here, no doubt about it. "Great hotel right by the beach"
If you're looking for an opulent 5 star hotel this is not it - but if you're looking for a very comfortable boutique hotel with just the best service then choose the Peninsula. It's not very large - more intimate really, it's very friendly and welcoming, and it makes the very best of its location - most rooms (including our coral suite) look out to […] the beach and the sea - there is a line of trees but you still see and hear the ocean. Most people seemed to be on B&B rates, and one area the hotel could improve is the breakfasts - most mornings the eggs were either underdone or bullet hard. However, this was one minor problem in an otherwise great stay. The owners and staff were so helpful - advising on the best tours and even running us across to the marina one day when it was raining hard. They knew about all the tour discounts too and made sure we got them. The hotel has a good cafe known by locals for its good coffee, and the cocktails were excellent too. The location isn't just right by the beach, it's at one end if the main street in town so it's also close to good shops and restaurants. If we can get back to Port Douglas another stay at the Peninsula will be one of the main attractions. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed in room 2 which is the closest room to the bar and kitchen. You could hear them setting up on the mornings, which made it hard to sleep in.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A very relaxing place to stay."

"Stayed 5 nights"
Got picked up from Cairnes airport, so that is a good way to start. Great location with a walk across the quiet road to the beach. The pool at the hotel is great too. We had a lovely sea view from our room/balcony but it doesn't get the afternoon sun, whereas the rooms over the pool do, so depends what you want. Close to the shops etc and kitchen facilities […] in the room were good. Although the room rate is high, that is the going rate - and we would probably stay there again. We stayed in July, we have heard since that September is the best weather (not too hot or windy) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel is in a superb location, directly opposite beach. We would certainly stay there again but there were a few minor hiccups which were annoying. When we arrived the fridge had been incorrectly turned off and for the first few days the wifi did not work in the room( some adjustment had to be made to the connection). During our stay the lock on our […] door decided not to lock any more and it took 36hrs to get that fixed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location and Wonderful Service"
We wish our stay were longer. The location of the hotel and the service can not be faulted. The room was clean and comfortable and well layed out with it's own small deck. The cooking facilities were completely appropriate for the room, and the furnishing is nice. We cannot find a negative that should affect any decision to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful in all aspects"
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days stay at the Peninsula Boutique Hotel. Service was prompt, efficient and combined with smiles and great attitude. Early each morning a typed paper full of various activity suggestions for the day was pushed under our door. Organising taxis, tours, etc was no trouble. We were very impressed. The Hotel location […] is perfect with 4 Mile Beach just across the road and Port Douglas Village only a hundred meters away. We hope to repeat our visit to the Peninsula Hotel again soon. "Not a great respite from the wind"
I will preface this by saying the weather wasn't great, and this may have influenced my review. The hotel is in a great spot, just across a boulevard from the beach, and the staff were attentive and happy. The pool was lovely, and sheltered from the howling onshore winds, so that was great, and breakfast was adequate. The room was tired, a broken window […] and missing fan switch seem minor, but it is an expensive place, and I was surprised by these things. It just shows it's age, not enough light, too many dark wood panels, and uncomfortable chairs that you don't want to sit in. Overall, a bit disappointing, but perhaps if the sun had been shining it would not have mattered! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful place to stay."
Lovely small hotel, very personal and accommodating staff. Beautiful pool area and foliage lush and colourful. Everything was great. In house food was delicious and so reasonably priced. The rooms are relatively expensive but worth it. We had a lovely room overlooking the water with a great balcony. Easy access to washing machines, dryer, towels just […] make life easy. Only thought was that the mattresses might need a change as getting a little uncomfortable. We would love to return as we felt it was a great atmosphere, very relaxing. "Very good hotel."
Great location walking distance to main village and right on the beach. Meals were good and reasonably priced compared to other restaurants. Self contained ocean suite was great and would highly recommend, although you pay for it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Out of this world hotel"
12/07/14 Helen E Chester, United Kingdom
We stayed for 4 nights on a trip around Oz in nov '14. This is one of the best hotels we've stayed in, by far. It is boutique in name and size and the hotel is set out beautifully and uniquely. The staff were so friendly and we received a very warm welcome from Jeremy and a mini tour. There are lots of special touches at this hotel, such as, ice cold water and flannels on arrival to the quality of products in the room. Bedrooms are large and beautifully decorated and furnished and having a full kitchen and fridge was great. We appreciated the complimentary laundry room and towels for the pool and beach. This hotel looks over the 4 mile beautiful beach and the water was 29' c when we went. The town is lovely with many boutique shops. Breakfast was lovely and varied. We ate dinner at the hotel 3 times and the food was superb. I would defo recommend this hotel and we hope to return. Thank you Penisular for a wonderful stay from 'The Evans'.

"Our stay in Port Douglas"
12/02/14 Jon C Aberdeen, United Kingdom
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Peninsula Hotel in Port Douglas. A great family run hotel. From the moment we arrived until we departed , the staff made us feel very special. Our room was very good and cleaned every day to s high standard. We eat there a couple of times and the quality if good and service was very good. Breakfast by the pool was wondeul. The locations is wonderful, with the beach 30 seconds away and the centre of Port Douglas 5 mins walk. We soightvsdviceon a couple of trips and the advice turned out to be great. The pool area was very nice but dome mira repairs are necessary , Howeve we understand a refirbishment is planned. We definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there should we return to Port Douglas.
"Great for a Honeymoon."
12/02/14 Ron B Melbourne
Stayed here for 4 nights for our honeymoon. We stayed at the spa suite - the most expensive room. Service was immaculate; this is a small family-owned hotel and the staff was very friendly for any request. The swimming pool was great and so was the spa in our room (with indulgent bath stuff). The room itself was actually a studio with a kitchen and small lounge, the can be separated from the bed/bath area using wooden doors. But the best thing in the room was the breeze! On the cons side, breakfast was disappointing for a hotel of this rating and price, and closet was dusty. Great for a honeymoon, but probably too pricey to return for a regular holiday...

We stayed here during our first week in Australia and fell in love with the place. From check in to check out we received fantastic customer service from the staff. They made you feel so welcome. Plus as it was our honeymoon they put a bottle of wine in our room for our arrival, it was little things like that which made the stay extra special. The restaurant offered a great menu and the food did not disappoint. In terms of location it could not be faulted, it was on the sea front for a start plus only a short walk from Port Douglas shopping area and tourist attractions. I would highly recommend this hotel.
"The best hotel we have stayed in."
My partner and I have spent the past 5 days at the Peninsula Boutique Hotel. It is in a fantastic location, a walk to the shops, harbour and beach. You are able to see the waves crashing onto the beach as you enjoy a very tasty meal from their High Tide Menu. The staff are extremely helpful, the pool is pleasant, and the food and drink choices are excellent. We enjoyed happy hour cocktails while sat in the jacuzzi on a number of occasions) The facilities are very clean. After a month of travelling it was a delight to spend the last 5 days in such a splendid place. We feel completely refreshed and relaxed. Thank you!!
"Great location just across from 4 mile beach"
11/28/14 MetalTiger Penang
Lovely room with door on to private terrace and a minute across to the beach. It was a very well designed room with upward sliding blinds on the doors so that even in the evening when the tint on the windows allows vision into the interior, you can pull up the blinds and still see out yourself. Great coffee machine but restricted to only two per day complimentary! Very comfortable beds and a spacious bathroom with spa bath and separate shower. Wonderful to have full sized shampoos and bath gel and the best skin cream ever - and they sell them in reception. I get so ratty with those itty bitty sample size bottles because I am sure that more stays in the bottle than I ever get out! Breakfast was very varied and the Sunday night fish and chip dinner was very good. Internet is restricted - boring especially when one has to catch up and book onward travel.
Stayed here in April and was very impressed. Incredible location, right across the road (barely any traffic) from the most amazing long stretch of beach. In the other direction it's just a short stroll to all the lovely shops and restaurants of Port Douglas. Staff are friendly and the food is good. Really cool and quirky swimming pool! I thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the hot tub with a few beers. Rooms are of a good size. Would definitely stay here again.

Very nice, older, small hotel, fabulous location right on the beach, virtually every restaurant in town within walking distance. Excellent customer service. Washer and drier available to guests, useful in the middle of long trips. Internet service is barely adequate – plan most web activities for another location. Very good breakfast included.
"Excellent change of pace from the larger hotels"
11/26/14 Joefish925 Stamford, Connecticut
Stayed in an excellent room for 4 nights in this beautiful property located a short walk from town and just across the road from the beach. Staff was extremely friendly. Breakfast was quite good and dinners excellent. The hotel design is very creative and a wonderful change of pace from the boxy high-rise buildings. The availability of a washer & dryer was very much appreciated as we were traveling for an extended period of time. The PC was readily available and without charge...a nice feature. We have great memories of the staff, the property, the town, the rainforest and the reef.
