The four stars out of 5 rating on Hotels.com likely only applies to the more expensive apartments versus hotel room which we stayed in. It was a very small basic room on the ground floor that was quite dark and smelled like old cooked food. In fact the entire hallway smelled like an old restaurant. Probably the carpet, upholstery and window drapes haven't […] been changed in awhile. The advertised free internet is only available in apartment rooms, not the hotel rooms. Also the free breakfast basket consists of just cold milk, white bread, boxed cereal in a basket in the refrigerator. The room was fine if you are staying just a night and aren't in the room much but otherwise it only meets basic requirements. The good points are that it is in an excellent location right next to the Central train station and the bathroom is clean even though its small and basic without a bathtub - shower only. Read more

This is more like a serviced apartment. The rooms have a kitchenette and separate bedroom and make a good base for a Business person. Wired Internet is free and the furnishings comfortable. It's a nice change from the bland big hotels.

Rooms are so small you would think you were in Europe. Barely enough area beside the bed to get out and the entry certainly didn't allow for ease of access. The exterior andpublic areas are beautiful. We stayed in a hotel room, not an apartment - it was clean and comfortable if basic - remember this building was constructed in the 1930's as an office. We'd like to go back to try the apartments. Unfortunately Reception, spa, BBQ and room service all close much earlier than we found convenient.

Good value + old world charm. But..... the internet was off and on and now coffee pot in my room - though in the previous room i had there was one. It also didn't get serviced one day. I wasn't sure if that was meant to be the case.

Accepting the fact that this is a heritage property, it is old in appearance and function. However; regular maintenance is lacking. All the doors squeak loudly and are difficult to operate - this includes the main entry. Would recommend to others and would stay there again. Good, friendly staff. Housekeeping staff especially. The hotel is very central and most rooms have a spacious balcony overlooking good surrounds.

What I got was 4 slices of bread, 2 small boxes of cereal, 2 small cartons of milk and a selection of butter and jams left in the fridge the night before. When I raised this with the staff, I was told that their understanding of continental breakfast is cold breakfast, and I have to put the bread in the toaster myself. This is very poor. The Rothbury Heritage Apartment Hotel doesn't look much from the outside, but is beautiful inside. Gorgeous heritage features everywhere, and nicely restored. We had a one bedroom apatment which had lots of room, and all the things you need. There was a washer/dryer in the bathroom and nice little kitchen. A Continental breakfast basket was put in our […] room each day which was great. Up on the top of the building is a nice little BBQ area with a sauna and spa. The building is in a great spot, we arrived in Brisbane by plane and caught the air train into Central Station, and only had a two minute walk to the Hotel. We didn't need to hire a car, as the city was only a short walk away and we caught trains to wherever else we needed to go. The staff were helpful and friendly. The place was quiet, we didn't hear any outside noise. We will stay here again, and recommend this apartment hotel. Read more

hotel is in a great location, my only complant about this hotel is the slow internet connection. Check in was easy, staff very friendly, we extended our stay with no problem, rented a car and parked in the basement carpark. extra charge for parking. So close to the city you dont need a car. 酒店位置非常便捷 在市中心 距地铁三分钟路程 去黄金海岸很方便 我和女儿住感觉房间特小 设施也较陈旧 普通的门锁 最主要的是两个两户在一个门里 对门的人进出频繁 关门声音听的非常清楚 我们只住了一晚 记得当夜十二点时忽然听见象有翘门锁的声音 惊醒了我们 当时不敢说话 眼睛直直的盯着门口 那个声音断断续续 真吓死人了 我们特小声商量打电话报警 又怕英语不太好表述不清 我们屏住呼吸 一会声音又没了 后来声音又出来了 我撞着胆子下床走到门口 仔细听发现是门口柜子里管道发出的声音 啊 虚惊一场 但真是心有余悸啊 因为从未住过这种格局的酒店 感觉不是太好 想想如果把外面的门锁上 里面两间发生什么 外面都听不见 这种房型比较适合一家子住吧
