This was an excellent stay. I go to the Decatur area about three or four times a year for business and this was my first time using these facilities...great choice. It is a good location, the staff was helpful, and the hotel clean.

Location.
Situated in Huntsville, Guesthouse Suites Plus is close to University of Alabama-Huntsville, Huntsville Botanical Garden, and Oakwood University. Also nearby are Madison Square Mall and Sci-Quest North Alabama Science Center.

I had to to book another room for an additional employee and the hotel had a cheaper rate than I got thru Hotels.com.

"It is very nice for the price"
This hotel is older and showing signs of wear however it is very nice for the money. I have payed more and gotten worse and less. I have stayed there twice and will stay there again.

The room was in a nice area, it was very clean and comfortable and quiet. Would stay again.
"Disappointing stay"
The air conditioning in the unit took several hours to even cool off the room. There were hardly any dishes, pans, or silverware to use in the kitchen area. The supplied towels were very thin and there were only two for two people, one of which we used to remove something out of the oven during our stay. The room wasn't very stocked with guest ammenities […] which made it difficult when trying to wash the two cups and two plates, or when trying to use the bathroom with only 1 roll of toilet paper. I am severely disappointed in my stay. There were also small bugs around the room, and I got a small bite from something on my ankle when I slept. I would not recommend staying here. Read more
"Amazing for the price"
When I reserved the hotel I expected a mediocre place since the price was so low. It was on sale but even the regular rate is a bargain. Then I got there and and saw how nice it was - fireplace, kitchen, comfortable bed and sofa, etc - and started to try and see what was wrong with it for it to be so cheap. But I couldn't find anything. The only thing […] I didn't like was the entrance to the room was at the very back of the property, between some bushes with no light, and really close to the building next door. Creepy. But I couldn't have been more pleased with the room. I at first thought I had arrived at an apartment complex, since they rooms are in buildings like apartment buildings. It's different but makes it a little more homey and offers less potential for noisy neighbors. It also took me awhile to find the office to check in. It's not marked at all. "Needs a face lift"
Exterior was promising but room was old, musky, crowded. Their was hair in the tub and sink and there was an expiring roach on the floor.

I INTEND TO COME BACK AND STAY REGULARLY. VERY HAPPY WITH EVERYTHING.
Although room had small kitchenette there was very little silver ware and other items. The coffeemaker didn't work.
IT WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE. WE ENJOYED OUR STAY VERY WELL. I WILL BE BACK.

"OK"
All the loft suites were reportedly 'sold-out' but during our stay the parking lot was almost empty. Clearly there was no way anything was sold out. Obviously it takes a bit more to clean these or they were holding them for some other reason. The maid had so few rooms to clean she knocked on our door three times before 10:00 and it was not our check-out […] day. Read more

I think this hotel is a good value for the bucks. they have a adequate breakfast for those on the run. the rooms are VERY spacious and have more than an average size kitchen and good size bath. The internet is free and is always up and they have free parking and more than enough space to park your car. they are not far from restaurants so over all this […] is a great value for the dollars. "wonderful"
We stayed here for the annual TNBA bowling tournament. The stay was great. Setup was awesome and staff very accomodating to our needs. Only complaint was how the cleaning lady would knock and already start opening the door. Once addressed with front, it was fixed. Overall, if I'm ever in huntsvile again, I will def book here. :)

The say was a great one. The all the staff people were very polite and friendly. The only thing that I feel needs attention to would be the towels and wash cloths. The color from the white has faded out.. This make the towels and wash cloth look as if they are dirty. I will stay again and will be bring some more people in January.

"Love some things, hate some things."
I have stayed at the Guesthouse Suites in Huntsville 10 times or so, usually for a week at a time. I started about 5 years ago because they met all my criteria - breakfast, wi-fi, workout facility and kitchen. Pros: It's quiet there. I hate being woke up by noisy neighbors, people slamming doors, talking loudly as they walk up and down the halls. I […] value my sleep highly when I'm on the road. I like having a kitchen where I can prepare fast and healthy food. I like working out at the Riviera down the street. They have good equipment and I always find someone friendly to spot me on a bench press. Cons: The wi-fi gets slower and more intermittent every time I stay there. Drives me nuts. Everyone has wi-fi now, so this isn't the draw it used to be. I call every time and complain to the office. They'll unplug the routers and plug them back in. It helps for an hour or two, then it's back to the same crummy performance. Speedtest.net says I'm getting about 0.8 Mbps down and 0.0 up. Yuck! This last stay, I was on the far west side of the property, and up against the property fence is a little concrete pad with a basketball hoop. Two sections of the fence were knocked out - about 8 feet worth, and looking through it I could see the projects. Enough said. The AC was out when I got back one night at 10pm. That was the final straw for me. Maintenance came out and had it going within 20 minutes, I give them credit there. So I've enjoyed a lot of things about it, but plan to find somewhere else to stay my next time to Huntsville. Read more

The desk clerk was extremely helpful and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised at the set up of the room and the attributes in the room as well as the continental breakfast at such a low price. I will come back.

What a dump. The place is trashed, falling apart and dirty. Carpeting is worn out, It's just disgusting really. Would not stay here again for FREE.

Room was very dusty. Sink area carpet appeared to have blood or something on the carpet. I put a towel down to walk on it & avoid the carpet. Breakfast was good & had a lot of variety. Desk staff was friendly & helpful.

"nightmare @ guesthouse in Huntsville, AL"
The hotel was close to my work and reasonably priced. I had my wife make the reservation for me at 7pm. I was not able to get there before 2am. After i checked in, It took me a few minutes to find my room. The map was somewhat confusing. After I found the room, there was quite a bit of snow and ice on the sidewalks. This didn't cause me any problems. […] When I entered my room I found the quilt and comforter thrown over onto the couch. The pillows had no pillow cases on them. Also the bed had no covers except a mattress pad. I tried calling the front desk and got no answer. Since it was early in the morning, I got a sleeping bag from my vehicle and went to bed. When I got up the next morning, I found that the garbage from the prevoius occupant along with wet towels had not been removed from my room. This went well with the long hairs left in the sink and counters in the bathroom. I was so mad when i checked out. I didn't say anything to the desk when I left because they didn't ask if my stay was pleasant. If they had they would have gotten an ear full. I called my wife when I left and told her how upset and disgusted I was with this hotel. She finally called and got my money returned. Read more

"Don't Stay There"
This hotel is old and had a strange smell to it and creaked when we walked upstairs. For what we paid, it was terrible and I would not recommend. The employees were fine and the breakfast was good but the accommodations were awful.

I chose this hotel primarily because of location and price. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel in this area. I was pleasantly surprised that the room had a kitchenette. Rooms were large and in O.K. shape. The place needs a little touching up, but nothing major. The staff was extremely helpful and forthcoming […] with area maps and good tips. The continental breakfast was fantastic! I ate my fill every day of the standard stuff. Coffee was good too. I have stayed at this hotel a total of 5 times, in 5 different buildings / rooms. The staff has been very helpful, when I left behind an item after a stay they recovered it and kept it until my next visit. The property is generally serviceable, but is beginning to show its age with signs of repair in each of the rooms I stayed in. Each visit has had […] some contributing factor to make it less than ideal, with my last visit capped by a lack of hot water on the morning I departed. Our family's three night mini-vacation in Huntsville was outstanding. What started off great with a very quick check-in made a great start to our weekend. All the front desk attendants were very helpful with directions to the different attractions that Huntsville has. The location is centrally located to all the shopping and attractions that the area […] holds. The room was large and spacious, which was really good due to the fact we have a three year old. Nice to have a full-size refrigerator, microwave, stove and oven(which we didn't even use). In my travels which consisted of 8 years of full-time traveling with my job, this hotel was the greatest!!! "Wonderful hotel"
The hotel may have been a little dated but the stay was an overall great experience. The room was large, the kitchen was modern and in good working order. It's one block from one of the main thoroughfare and around shops, restaurants, etc. I would definitely stay here again.

The Guesthouse in Huntsville was a delightful surprise! The hotel is located close to a busy highway, but is in a surprisingly quiet and secluded area one block away. The hotel was lovely, clean, and well-run. The outdoor pool was pleasant and clean. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The free breakfast in the morning was adequate.
