Love the Westin Sydney. Conveniently located, great service. My boss always requests to be put here on business even if it means travelling a tad bit further, its worth the safety and quality of the hotel.

location and atmosphere really nice at this Westin Hotel integrated with The Old General Post Office! Close to nice mall's, stores, pedestrian street and very nice restaurants and caffe's! The staff is efficient and service minded! Room was great and well functioning! Club facilities are well worth the charges!

very good location in the cbd good services except the location of the qymclub and the small pool too badly situated in a lost part of the complex. A pool and a gym room on the top of the tower would be a must as at the sheraton on the park.

A recent stay in Sydney with family and the hotel provided everything we required with a quick response and smile. They even checked us in at 8:30 AM after a 15 hour flight from Los Angeles (normal for US flights to arrive at dawn). Believe me, that was much appreciated since it allowed us to clean up, rest a bit, and then tackle Sydney. Our first time to stay at Westin Sydney. We stayed overnight for business/leisure. We got a good rate through Expedia. Overall hotel is nice although parking is expensive ($56 AUD) and internet access is not complimentary.

The hotel, location and amenities are perfect. The only bad part about it is that the tower superior rooms face the idoor patio, feeling a little claustrophobic and missing natural light and privacy.

Great layout, comfort, and location in Central Business District, which is the prime spot to stay other than Sydney Harbor / Rocks area. Overall, this was a spectacular hotel with super modern rooms, a wonderful concierge staff, and a great location. Drawbacks: shared fitness center with limited hours and unhelpful staff and in-room internet was prohibitively expensive.

The Hotel is intended for International business travelers and is not only situated in the middle of Sydney's "CBD" but is surrounded by Investment Banks. Need I say more? First, advice: the lead-in Expedia rate for the standard room provides for a very nice room, with a dreadful view. I felt claustrophobic in a room that had an office building on one side, and concrete wall of the hotel on the other. I immediately asked to move and paid the upgrade fee, which was actually pretty reasonable, and the staff nicely and quickly […] moved my luggage and resettled me in a high floor. If you're a typical leisure traveller, you may not be happy because the hotel is not on Circular Quay or around Darling Harbour with water views. This property is definitely for the more corporate traveller, visiting the adjacent office towers. HOWEVER, do not despair, as in fact the hotel is just 5 mins easy walk to Circular Quay (harbourside)...it may not look like it from the window, but in fact you are very central to everything you'd want to see. Love Westin rooms, beds, amenities, etc. Can never go wrong in these regards with a Westin. Design of the reception desk was a mistake. Not functional or efficient. I didn't like that they would charge you a towel fee in the gym if you did not bring one from the room....that's a silly fee. The Westin is in a great location, probably within 3 to 7 blocks of lots of great restaurants. We'd love the Malaysian choices in Sydney and the buffet at the Sydney Tower [only 2 blocks away]. We were within easy walking distance of The Rocks, which has a great market on Fri, Sat, and Sun. (We also walked miles to the Paddington Market on Sat, but […] having seen both markets, skip Paddington and just go to the Rocks.) As for tours, shop around... There are discounts to be had. When we landed in Syd, we took a transit bus to our hotel downtown (not expensive; quick arrival), there were many tour brochures on the desk, but we found the same tours offered at discounts at a Chinese office in The Rocks. We travel A LOT, and we enjoyed Sydney very much. For Americans, I think prices were on the high side. Food, for example, was more expensive than we had imagined. A great idea: When you walk by a shopping center (and there are MANY near the WEstin), go to the food courts in the basement level. WOW! such variety... such colors... and flavors... Unfortunately, we discovered these areas on the day before we were to leave. I wish we'd known about them earlier!!!! It's not just a bunch of fried fast food like you'd find in the US. Check it out! Comfortable - air conditioning excessively loud and had to call reception to find out how to switch it off . Room very hot on arrival as sun hits on glass roof in 'atrium' and reflects into room. Very mean with small amounts of tea, coffee and milk available. Otherwise great, staff excellent and location brilliant.
