I was told by hotel. Com i could have early check in (1:00 pm). Red roof refused. Their employee taekwanda(spelling) very unprofessional. Requested manager she stated none available nor other employee. Definitely will not stay there again due to staff

I found the desk clerk and maintenance man to be very dismissive and unwilling to accomodate the guests. The crowd of people hanging around outside was very disturbing. I always had the notion that Red Roof Inn's were on the lower end of the hotel/motel chain, but this stay totally changed my mind! The room was spotless, and I loved being on the first floor where I could just park right out in front of my door. This hotel is very conveniently located at I-44 and Hampton Rd. It's close to Forest Park, the Hill, and Tower Grove Park. Fairly new renovation and comfy bed and linens. The staff provided good customer service: my AC unit was broken and I was upgraded to a larger room at no additional charge. This larger room provided fridge and microwave, not available […] in the basic rooms. I was initially disconcerted to see quite a few young men hanging around outside midday at the hotel. That and the outside entry made me wonder about staying here as a woman traveling alone, My discomfort abated and there were no problems during my two night stay. The have renovated their rooms recently, so the room was clean and nice. They have decent room with LCD TV, iron, microwave and even a personal vault. BUT the bathroom was flooding after I took a shower. I think they gotta do something to fix it.

When I got there, I had to switch rooms because apparently no one readied the one I reserved. They had an argument about it as I was checking in. Many other reviewers have said that their rooms were not very clean. The only problem I had were the floors. They were sticky and filthy. I doubt anyone ever mops them. Other than that it was fine. My TV's […] movie ordering function was not working. They sent up a maintenance guy and he tried some other remotes, but nothing worked. Then he left, called my room and told me to call the front desk. The girl I spoke with offered to call Expedia(not the service I used) and get me one of my nights free. But I never heard from her again and when I asked someone at the desk, she blew me off by saying the charge would come off at the end of my stay. No, it didn't. And I'm fine with paying for it, but why offer that to me and then not deliver? The staff clearly didn't want to be there. I always saw them standing outside... this is a group of about 7-10 people! My room didn't get made up, and when I asked the guy at the desk he said begrudgingly, "I'm the only one here. I mean, I could do it... but it'll be a while...." I asked for clean towels, they had none. Then they told me to walk to the other side of the place and get them from one of the staff. The biggest problem is the staff, and at a hotel that's kind of important. Better training is desperately needed. Read more

Visiting my daughter to plan her wedding and needed an inexpensive and conveniently located place to stay for lots of running around. It was fine for that. Free coffee in the lobby was full of grounds and lukewarm. No other services offered. Bare bones hotel for a bare bones rate.

This was one of the better hotels I've stayed at. It was clean, comfortable, and fairly well laid out. The only complaint I have, is that like most hotels, the walls are too thin, which makes it abit noisey.

This hotel is very close to the highway so our room was a bit loud. Also, there wasnt a microwave or a refrigerator in our room. They clearly just redecorated and I thought it was interesting that they have fake wood floors throughout the room. I was a little concerned when we opened the door to our room, as a strong odor of smoke rolled out the door. They gave us a new room, and any fears of a repeat dropped as the room had that just-renovated smell of newness. Booked this due to the low rate and the location. Location next tot he interstate made it easy to get around the city from here. The rooms are nicely done and the bed was comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly. Exterior corridors made the place pretty noisy at times, but things were mostly quiet overnight when we needed it that way.
