Staybridge Suites Memphis - Poplar Ave East - Memphis

After a 10 day roadtrip we were so happy to stay in this hotel which far surpassed the others we stayed in! Clean and very comfortable bed, clean room, nice staff, great happy hour and excellent breakfast, served early enough we could get in the road by 6:45 AM. We will stay there again!

We were amazed at the space and amentities we got for a very reasonable price. The kitchenette was fully equipped, even had pots and pans, flatware, cups, and dishes, we could have cooked meals and stayed there. The free breakfast was quite good and included many hot items, fresh fruit, delicious pastries. Two giant TVs, spacious bedroom and bath, decent […] sofa and other furnishings, great internet access. TV reception was only fair (perhaps an outdated distribution system in the hotel) and the vanity in the bath was oddly too tall for comfort, and we're average height. But overall an excellent hotel. Getting there off I-240 was hairy though. It seemed that we had to quickly leap over multiple lanes of traffic both coming and going, and the street is an obscure one, so check out Google maps and be prepared for a quick lane change or two. Very comfortable. We had a one bedroom suite which made it easy to spend time with family. Comforable beds, great breakfast, clean hotel, nice area. I booked this hotel for a two day stay because of online reviews. They were spot-on. This hotel is very affordable, and located in a safe neighborhood close to shopping and food. In our room they did not pick up trash from the floor and did not vacuum the carpet. The person responsable for the breakfast area, was rude to me and also to at least 3 other guest that I saw. I booked via Hotels.com, opted for a two bdrm. When we arrived we noticed only one bed. I brought it to the front desk persons attention he basically said that I was out of luck since this hotel doesnt have 2 bdrms. Never once did the clerk offer any helpful input or try to accomodate. We get into the one bedroom (I took the sofa) and by the end of […] night one we were practically out of towels. So we went down the next morning for more. The lady basically told us that we should have the correct set of towels. There just happened to be another guest behind us who chimed in to say, "that is why I am down here also." Then there was the issue wth the shower. When you ran the shower it would not drain. The front desk lady said that since it was late no one could fix until morning and that she would put in a work order for first thing. Well, that never happened. I went back down the next day (with only one night left in our stay) and the guy said that no request had been submitted. He sent someone up. Then on check out day (which is at noon) I find the housekeeping staff beating on the door yelling "Housekeeping" at 8:45 in the morning. Mind you, since I am on the couch it scared me half to death. She recognized that I must have been asleep and apologizes stating that she was told we had checked out. Do we not have until 12noon? At first I thought, well I should have put the sign on the outside of the door, but wait it is check out day. I WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN. Read more

Staybridge Suites is a nice hotel, and I was pleased with my stay, only compliant I have is I did not get any room services, due to the housekeeping did not speak or understand English communication was not good, my room was never cleaned.

This hotel has a great location at Poplar and 240. My room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the linens were fresh and updated. The bathroom has been recently updated. The only downside is that this is also an extended stay hotel so the hallways have a lingering "cooked food" odor after dinner hours.

The room was marked as "No Smoking" but the hallway reeked of old tobacco smoke. The room itself was nice, and pretty much as advertised, a studio with full kitchen. Both refrigerator and A/C were VERY noisy, making sleep difficult. When the A/C kicked on, it blew so hard that if the noise had not already woken you, the sudden cold draft would.

However they changed the room quite quickly after we asked. We also appreciated studios with fully equipped kitchen, refrigerator, 2 TVs etc. Except the fact hotel was quite full with family reunions and kids, the room was quiet at night and we could open the windows as well (witch we really appreciated as we are Europeans). Breakfast buffet was good, average for this type of hotel, however well maintained by the staff which was really helpful, too. We appreciated Hibachi grill almost next door. Overall good experience.
