"nice hotel in upscale Kensington"
The hotel was clean and very quiet. The room was very nice. The only problem I had on check-in was my 7am arrival and room was not ready. I had problems emailing the hotel about an after midnight arrival so they thought I wasn't coming. After waiting about 90 minutes, manager got me room after first being told it would be a 3 hour wait.Other than that […] glitch I found staff quite helpful in scheduling a taxi for a ride back to Heathrow at 5 am on my departure day. You are able to change money in hotel lobby. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Steps from a Circle/District Underground, this location can't be beat. The staff was very pleasant. The hotel could use some updating, but the location beats the lack of "pretty". High Street Kensington is a busy neighborhood to hang out in and the walk through the park is a close-by respite from the busy.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel in a good location"
I enjoyed my stay overall. The room was a bit run down but was acceptable. The restaurant's in the hotel were nice and reasonably priced. The asian restaurant was particularly good and the staff there were very good. The hotel was also in a good location. There is a restaurant inside the underground station called Bill's that is great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good location. Room needs update"
The bathroom was small and was hard to use the mirror as the counter was out far. Great location. The hotel staff were friendly and helped with questions. Really wish that wifi was not an extra charge..Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Copthorne Tara Millenium in London"
Recently I stayed at the Copthorne Tara. Upon Checkin they try to get you to upgrade to the Club Floor at an additional charge of $80 us per night. With this comes wireless, Continental breakfast and a slightly larger room. The wireless is useless and irratic, the breakfast was limited and the room was about 3-4 feet larger. In all not worth the extra […] money. So I refused the upgrade, the room they put me in had poor airconditioning on the first night and than on the second night the bearing in the fan finally went squeeking all nite. They than moved me to another room, that had a queen size bed and great air conditioning, the bed however sloped to the middle. The manager was good intentioned and said he would replace the bed. He did so with a full size bed not a queen. So here were another two nites of poor sleep. Finally they moved us to another room once again with poor air conditioning. So on a 7 night stay I had 4 nights of poor sleep for which they took no financial responsibility for delivering a poor product. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great London Hotel"
The room was not huge, but probably considered roomy based on normal European standards. It was clean and comfortable. The hotel location was excellent, about 2 blocks from buses and subways. There were several restaurants and shopping stores also close to the hotel. The staff were very helpful and professional.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great location for a mediocre hotel"
The hotel reception area was remodeled however the rooms are very tired looking...broken/worn furniture, lumpy beds, rusty bathroom fixtures in the regular rate rooms. However the Club rooms are not much better and most of the hotel's rooms overlook the London tube not a very scenic view. The location is great right in the heart of the Kensington District […] and a 5 minute walk to the High Street Kensington tube station. I would not go back to this hotel. Easy access in Kensington with well-trained staff. My husband & I were new to the area but after just one day we knew our way around and felt very comfortable. The staff was exceptional & took care of every need: directions, food, wifi hookup; spacious hotel with friendly people. I will stay again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"My week in London"
I have stayed at this hotel before and definately would again. Staff very helpful and courteous clean and a great location.....right off High Street kensington. They made my stay a great one! Thanks so much!Genuine Expedia guest review
We stayed in Kensington to be close to the center of London without being in the true center. This hotel was perfect. Every staff member went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and perfect as possible. No request too big or too small. We are planning to return for our 1 year anniversary and will definitely return to the same hotel. Honestly... […] Location, location, location. And staff!! Cannot go wrong. "Excellent location with most amenities nearby"
This was my third stay at this hotel. The hotel is very well located near to shops with a Tube station and numerous buses nearby. Within walking distance to Nottinghill Gate and man restaurants and bars nearby. Th do need to include complimentary wi-fi and Internet, apart from this I enjoy very much setting at this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location, location, location"
This hotel is a great place to lay your head in central London after a long day of touring. I have stayed here numerous times and love the location. Just steps from the tube (High Street Kensington: central/district line), you can also walk to Holland Park, Kensington Gardens/Palace, and Albert Hall. This hotel is very basic but clean. Skip the breakfasts […] and explore what high street has to offer instead. This hotel is fairly priced for its location. Enjoy your trip to London! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location - close to the underground entrance"
The main lobby is very nice, our room was not quite as nice as I thought it would be. There was a lot of painting and remodeling going on our floor. The room was a bit dated. All in all though it served its purpose well.Genuine Expedia guest review
I like this hotel for it's neighborhood and closeness to tube. The hotel is decent, I would stay here again. My only issue is: They charge for internet service, 10p a for one unit. The connection was awful my entire stay...rarely did i connect and at one point they had me on the phone with a technician that took over 30 minutes. Not my way of spending […] vacation. "decent hotel at a reasonable price"
My husband, 9 month old daughter and I stayed here for nearly 3 weeks in September. While the room was fairly small, we managed fine. I had to ask for specific housekeeping (eg. clean shower curtain, new sheet for baby cot) but when I did, the service was great - it would have been better if I didn't need to ask though! Great to have a mini fridge. […] Internet was WAY TOO EXPENSIVE - it's 2013 and should be included as standard by now. A couple of times staff knocked on our door and woke up my baby when the "do not disturb" sign was on but otherwise we had a lovely stay. Great location too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The staff at check in were very friendly and helpful. We checked in at noon we had a room on the sixth floor. The Hotel was close to the Tube and within walking of distance. Very clean we will use this hotel again in the future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was good. not bad, not great either. nothing memorable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I booked a club room with breakfast and wifi. The first room we were given was horrible, on par with a very cheap backpackers. The room was dark and gloomy and in need of major upgrading. Im sure the room were clean but the furniture was very shabby and the room smelt musty. After complaining we were given another room to look at, which was slightly […] better. The staff seemed use to people complaining. it is very embarrassing for guests and staff to do this. I paid a premium for a good hotel in a good location, and got shabby run down accommodation and the internet was 3rd world. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"BAD HOTEL - Young, Honeymooners"
Hotel needs a lot of help, 90s decor and very outdated! First of all -if you want to snuggle with the person your traveling with, this is not a good hotel for it. They literally pushed 2 twin beds together an call it a king. So we basically slept separated since one of us would fall through the crack. Our refrigerator was broken, and there was useless […] shelf that had a sign that said useless info. Very tacky. When we asked for one bed since, btw it was our honeymoon, they said no and were rude about it. The location is not good, no where near anything fun or good to eat. We went to whole foods a lot... lame. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. It was pretty expensive as well which was a bummer. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location for our vacation."
The hotel is very close to High Street Kensington tube station. Unfortunately for us, the station was closed our first two days so we had to make do with the bus service which is pretty good. There seems to be about 4 lines that come by the hotel so you could get to just about anywhere on the bus also. The hotel furnishing are a bit dated but nothing […] that I would frown upon. Overall the room was very clean and neat. The bathroom was very nice. My wife loved the rain shower head. We didn't spend much time at the hotel except to sleep. There are a couple of restaurants at the hotel that we did not visit because the area is full of places to eat. We just wandered around down High Street and the side streets until we came upon something we liked. I did go to the gym early one morning to get in a quick run on the treadmill. Sadly, one of the treadmills was out of service and the other was taken, so I had to settle for one of the elliptical machines. Overall, very nice hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good surprise for a last minute booking"
I tend to stay at one of the large chains when I am in London but for this trip I had to make a last minute booking and finding an available room was a challenge. I had never stayed at the Copthorne Tara before and I was pleasantly surprised. I hadn't realized in my last minute haste that it was actually part of the Millenium group of hotels. "pretty good overall"
A nice room at a good price, but the hotel is in a neighborhood without many restaurants or pubs or clubs, and breakfast was not included in the price. Purchased separately, breakfast was just too expensive, perhaps 12 pounds or more.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Everything was good about the hotel, clean rooms, fair price, convenient location. The only improvement we can suggest is a new bath tub as the one we had was rusty and old which down graded the room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great neighborhood and convenient to underground"
My daughter and I spent a week in London and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Copthorne Tara. It's in a wonderful neighborhood, close to the High Street Kensington tube stop, walking distance to many sights, like Kensington Palace. The hotel serves a nice English breakfast, although most days we went out to explore the various cafes in the area. There […] is a small, but adequate, workout room as well. The hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating with requests. Our room was a little on the small side, but worked out well for just the two of us. I would definitely stay here again. "Great location near tube stop"
Our 2nd time at this hotel. We came back for the price, the location and the comparatively large rooms on a continent known for small ones. We had some minor problems (ac didn't work in first room, so they moved us), but staff was quick to make corrections. Biggest complaint is cost of internet. Rooms could use some updating (carpet, bathrooms), but […] for the price, we can't complain. We like being in the Kensington/Hyde Park area as there are so many restaurants in walking distance, in addition to supermarkets and other shops. And the tube is only a 5 minute walk. "Summer in London"
This hotel was NOT what my husband and I expected. We had travelled from Ireland to spend a few days at this hotel and we were surely disappointed. First, the hotel staff was very rude and did not give much assistance when asked. Their "guest services" people could barely recommend places to eat or how to get to places on the Tube. They seemed more […] concerned with getting people in and out and making the most money (which I understand) but coming from Ireland this was the most unfriendliest place! The rooms were ok they had a weird smell in the hallway and in the rooms. My husband I stayed in small B & Bs in Ireland with Wifi for free and this hotel could barely do that! They charged 10 (pounds) for 24-hours and the Wifi did not even work in the room I had to go to lobby where it was filled with loud people. The location of the hotel was great but I would research and find something better if I had to do it again. This hotel should have 2 stars and not three. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Decent location. Average decor. Paper thin walls."
Our overall experience was OK. The facility is clean enough although we had mold on the rubber bath mat that smelled. It is about 3 blocks to the High Street Kensington Underground stop which was very convenient. There also are convenience stores and banks nearby as well as a few coffee shops. The staff was fairly nice and helpful. We could easily […] hear noise from rooms next door but the noise from the Underground trains was barely audible. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean and Good Value in a Great Neighborhood"
Let me start by saying I would choose to stay here again. The location is superb, as is the value. Is it the nicest, poshest hotel? No. But to get that, you'd spend three to four times as much. The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds comfortable. It is 3 minutes from a Tube station and surrounded by great sights and restaurants. My one disappointment […] is with the WiFi. It's 10 pounds/day and doesn't work very well. We ended up getting a refund for it (the hotel offered after the third time they had to reset the router on my floor), and instead getting a SIM card for our iPad and making a hotspot. The Copthorne Tara Hotel served us well during our six night stay in London. We were well pleased with the location, staff and condition of the hotel. Wi-fi was extra. The air conditioning worked well. The room size was sufficient (not too big, but not too small) for two people with three pieces of luggage. We ate the hotel breakfast (10 GBP per person), […] and it was plentiful. Great selection of hot and cold dishes (baked beans, two kinds of eggs, bacon, sausage, half-tomatoes, and something that looked like grits, besides cereals, pastries, fruit and breads). On some days we got by on two meals, because the breakfast was so good. We had a refrigerator in the room but no safe. The bathroom had plenty of counter space for our toiletries. Our room had a shower tub with shower hose. The High Street-Kensington tube stop is a two block walk from the hotel. It is on the Circle Line which serves many popular tourist stops. The Kensington area felt safe -- day and night. On the way to the tube stop we passed a coffee shop, Muffin Shop and drug store. Kensington Avenue has many nice retail stores along the way. There is a "Carphone Warehouse" cell-phone store across the street and down to the corner from the tube stop. I picked up a British system SIM card for my iPhone for 15 GBP that had unlimited data, plus over a thousand minutes of calling and texting. Very easy to change out. This was not our first time at the hotel. The cleanliness of the room has severely declined, the sheets were not changed during the length of our stay, six days. Empty bottles of shampoo remained in the shower area. Also, the Internet service is very poor, in spite of the fact that the hotel charges for the service. Very few hotels charge for Internet […] service nowadays and if they do they provide much better connectivity. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location, but beware of policy changes"
We booked 2 rooms for 7 days (total of 14 bookings) for our family. At the time of booking,we requested a roll-a-way bed for one person for only one night. Upon check-in we were informed that they could not do this due to "safety regulations." As it turns out, it would have been VERY cramped anyway, but I wish we had known that from the beginning, as […] it cost an extra 126 pounds for a king room on short notice. (I should have just slept on a bench at Heathrow :-) The hotel is VERY convenient to the Kensington High Street tube station, just a short 3-minute walk down Wright's Lane from the high street. This is a very elegant neighborhood, and there are many dining and pub options nearby. Best among those are the Brittania pub for dinner, and The Muffin Man for breakfast (they take US$ there). The hotel bar is not so great. They were "changing the beer lines" (kegs) when we walked in at 7 PM on a Thursday night. Not cool. The half dozen or so bottled beers were pedestrian at best, and we wound up paying 5 pounds ($8 USD) for a 12 oz. Fosters Gold. C'mon!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
