Typical 2 queen bedroom but no frig or microwave . Two blocks to Temple Square and retail and restaurant areas. Free on site parking. Typical breakfast items.

Room was typical 2 bed queen. Neat and clean. Usual breakfast choices in small area but adjacent outdoor pool area was open for additional seating. Close to Temple Square and shopping restaurant areas. Sandwich shop next door, Burger place across the street.

The hotel is a perfectly well priced establishment, you really get what you paid for. The biggest advantage is the location, very close to the center so perfect for visiting SLC. The rooms are decent, nothing fancy, but clean and tidy. The breakfast is OK, again, nearly not the best, but for the price you pay it is all right.

The location was perfect for walking to a concert at the Energy Solutions Arena as well as the gateway. There was a Subway sandwich shop and a crown burger close by for meals. Rooms were a little run down, but they were clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good breakfast was offered as well.

It was a perfectly nice hotel with a clean room. Breakfast is minimal (cereal, bagels, packaged danishes, etc) but sufficient. Great location and friendly staff. Free airport shuttle was a bonus.

I was very happy with the accommodations and the service at Howard Johnson's. I appreciated the fact that I could get breakfast in the lobby every morning. I used the hotel's complimentary shuttle service to the airport. I would stay at this hotel again if I traveled to Salt Lake City.

It is ok when you don't want to spend money, receptionist not even greed guests and wears a dirty shirt, sorry but not impressed at all. Room was old and AC/HEAT unit very loud, bed was old but not bad, bathroom was good. I rather pay $10.00 more to saty somewhere else.

First, if you are expecting a 4 star when staying at a 2 star hotel, you're going to rate these types of hotels low. I don't understand some of the reviews that evaluate it based on a high end Marriott or something. Based on the rate and our expectations, it was great! Our room was clean and roomy (1 king bed, desk, sofa chair) and the breakfast provided […] many options as a continental breakfast - flavored oatmeals, a few cold cereal choices, orange juice, pastries, toast, etc., along with a surprising favorite for me - hot chocolate! Staff was kind and helpful (but we don't ask for much). We were right by the elevator but never heard any noise. The hotel is located right near the Salt Palace and heart of Salt Lake. Because I'm the type of person that looks for a nice hotel at a great price, I would definitely stay there again if we are in the area. Read more

Unfortunately, our stay was horrible!! When we turned on the tap..."orange tang" colored water came out!!! The hotel was honestly really scary!! But, the location was nice!!!

The walls are thin enough that we could hear every word said in their room all the way up until about 7 A.M when they decided to call it quits. This put a huge damper on our vacation. We were grateful we were allowed to check in early. We appreciated the breakfast. The hosts were kind. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the availability of WiFi. But the lobby did not have a pleasant smell, and the room, although clean, was a bit shabby.
