"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.
"Another Good Experience"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
My wife and I have stayed at the Courtyard in Mahwah three of the last four years to attend the NEAF astronomy show at the Rockland Community College in Suffern, just a few minutes away. We've always had good a experience and this stay was no different. The recent renovations definitely spruced the hotel up. The pool and spa area was nice, although the acoustics in the room left my ears ringing after a group of children in the pool were not using their "indoor voices." Our room was very clean, everything worked well, including the internet connection (which is a wired connection) and having a Dunkin Donuts right next door makes a stay here worthwhile in my humble opinion! Just grab a coffee and a bagel sandwich and go. The rates are competitive with other hotels in the area. If someone on here rates the hotel low, they must be comparing it to a five-star city hotel or maybe a destination resort. It's not that, but it is a clean and decent place to stay while traveling for business or short-term pleasure. I believe we will stay there again next year.
"Affordable Quickie in NY"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"On the Ave, Great Hotel"
We stayed for 5days and had a great time. The On the Ave hotel was a perfect place for us to stay on the west side. Very nice.

"On the Avenue in NYC - remarkable value"
When we stepped into the somewhat shabby elevator we were prepared for the worst. What a pleasant surprise when we got to the room. Clean, quiet, comfortable and bigger than some of the tiny rooms at fancier hotels in NYC. It wouldn't be terribly comfortable if you plan to spend many waking hours in the hotel, but why go to the NY Upper West Side to […] do that? The shower was a bit small, but that was hardly a problem. Read more

We are frequent visitors to On the Ave its a great hotel. desk staff always awesome and so is the water pressure. construction across the street so ask for a room not on the 77th st side. they start at 7am.Best restaurants to eat at are Nice matin, Citrus (within two blocks) Parking is free on street til 830am perfect hotel to relax with a great dinner. […] we tried restaurant attached to the hotel very bright lights and the service is just ok bartenders a little boring too. they are new and need to work out the kinks. i would eat at the other two restaurants any day of the week. "Good stay for the price in New York."
The hotel is two blocks away from subway line 1. The room initially assigned to me was small. After I asked for a change, they happily put me in a larger room, which I'm very satisfied.
"On the Avenue stay"
The accommodations and service were very good. Unfortunately we had difficulty in setting our alarm clock. Two men were sent to instruct us but they were not able to set clock. Hope problem can be solved by including clock instructions in booklet available in room. Look forward to next stay at On the Avenue.
"On The Avemue NY"
Very poor internet service in rooms
"Great Place to Stay in Manhatten"
We are a family of 5 and really enjoyed our two nights at OTA. Our only issue was the construction across from it. It woke us up at 7am. Too early for us when we were out late the night before. The hotel accomodated us and changed our room for the second night and we were pleased. The neighborhood is great.
"On The Avenue"
A great advantage is discounted parking at the garage immediately next to the hotel on 77th St.
Great neighborhood for breakfast and lunch! (Shake Shack, Nice Cafe, Barney Greengrass and Zabars) Easy walk to the Museum of Natural History, the Met, and Central Park. Hotel staff was wonderful, and coffee in the lobby was nice. We had an upgrade to a king bed, and it was wonderful.
Amazing boutique hotel central to all the prime upper westside attraction. I would stay here again. Rooms extremely clean, staff is helpful, the rooms are spacious enough and comfortable. The beds are just right. Although there is no room service, there are a million places to get get good food in the area. If you need soemthing local in the city and […] about 10 from times scquare thsi place is it. The outdoor balcony. is perfect to hang out and relax. Read more
"Loud Housekeeping Staff"
I enjoyed my five-night stay, found the bed, room and water pressure great. The door banging every morning by the housekeeping was almost comical though. It was as if they had a sleep-in curfew, and anyone sleeping past that time would be awoken by the repeated loud slamming of doors.
Front desk reception was very friendly. Room was clean and cozy. Totally quiet. And right near the subway!! I'd stay again, no question.

"Great hotel in a great location"
I stayed in this hotel this past week. The rooms are very small but quite modern. The elevator is very old but I loved the location of the hotel. The staff was very friendly.
"Amazing value & excellent place for romance"
In a city where most rooms are tiny, expensive and just OK....This beautifully appointed boutique hotel was everything we hoped for and more. The decor was modern, clean and comfortable. Bed extremely comfortable with a nice soft comforter and plenty of cool looking pillows. ..a full length mirror tastefully placed on the bathroom door, cool modern […] coffee maker, and awesome granite stone in the bathroom instead of the generic stuff. Great service, business center and staff. The neighborhood is nice and quiet with the park nearby and lots of excellent restaurants. We didn't want to leave and we'll definitely be back! Read more
I actually enjoyed my stay at the hotel. It was clean. The bathroom was clean which is the most important thing to me. I would def stay here again.

"Great hotel at great location"
Great hotel. Love the uniqueness of it and location. Located in a neighborhood away from all the tourism and junk stores. 2 blocks from subway. Great shops and local food joints close by. Will def stay there again

love this neighborhood, had a wonderful weekend.. would stay here again. staff friendly and helpful.
"The Hotel ABD in NYC - Very convenient location"
Was in the City to do a job and Hotel was within walking distance and very affordable. Only regret is that I only stayed one night, otherwise it was close to Central park, lincoln Center and Columbus Circle. Definately would stay there again.
"A Great Value on the Upper West Side"
A spacious, comfy room, ovservation decks for viewing the city, subway a block away, vibrant neighborhood full of good restaurants... at a price that left us some money to spend on the town. We love this place and will definitely be back.
"On the Ave Hotel - clean convenient, & comvortable"
The rooms were smallish, but big enough. The comforters on the beds actually made it difficult to go out On the Ave. We decided that falling into the comforters on the beds in the late afternoon was one of our 'must-do' activities while in New York.
"The Hotel On the Ave New York- close to all"
The staff was friendly, professional. The Hotel was clean, great location and cozy. Ideal for a short stay.

On the Ave - Upper West Side NYC - Nice location close to Central Park and Natural History Museum in good neighborhood. Hotel was clean and a good value. Will stay here again.
"Great hotel, mediocre beds"
The hotel is great. The beds are mediocre. All else was great.
"Small but comfortable room"
The room we stayed in was really small (we could barely walk around the bed) but the bed was great. The bathroom was nice and rather big compared the the room itself! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
"Beautiful Views, Beautiful Rooms"
The balcony here is amazing - the view is simply to die for, facing the north side of Manhattan. And there are two of them, with the second one being a smaller one inside the complex. However, it's probably not worth going out to either balcony during the winter because of the height and chance for catching a cold. The room looks amazing, with a comfortable, […] fantastic bed. The bathroom has a standup shower and beautiful lighting all around (with dimmers). The LCD TV is a great accessory making it pretty much unnecessary to ever leave the hotel for entertainment (but it's NYC, so make sure you do!) Read more
"Great hotel"
The range of hotels in New York is enormous and many are not what they proclaim themselves to be; but this one was great! My wife an I drove to NYC and, as many trips, we managed a few time-sucking problems to delay us. We arrived at 10pm and were greeted warmly by desk staff. As a special bonus from the 'gods of travel' we were offered an upgrade […] to a large room at no cost. Perhaps they had overbooked the cheapies, don't know, but it was the nicest late arrival present one could imagine. I had read a few negative comments on rooms, but this one had none of that, it was great. Yes I did spot a few dots of mold in the shower grout, but get real, many home have that and in many ways it is almost impossible to eliminate. The only traveler warnings we have is that the entrance to the hotel is actually on 77th. Which means, as a cautionary tale, that the primary parking garage that the hotel uses is across the street from their entrance. Why is that important? the 24hr parking rate is lower per day, (vy the price of an adult ticket to most museums) than the hotel valet parking fee and all you need to do is roll your own suitcase across the street. And if that lot is full then the next one is only a 100 feet away on the other side of the hotel at 76th street. You can find more garages by searching for 'NYC parking' and looking for 'bestparking' Since the room has a 'through door' to the next room we could hear some of the sounds from the next room, but that can happen anywhere . Wifi costs in the room but is free in the lobby. We enjoyed the hotel and will keep it on our preferred place list. Read more

"Cool place"
Would stay here again
"friendly staff"
staff was very friendly and helpful, offered us a courtyard or street room, and were gay-friendly
"On the Ave New York - great boutique hotel"
This is a lovely place to stay. Rooms are streamlined, modern, and comfy. Staff is terrific. Would go back in a heartbeat the next time I'm in NYC.
"If You're in NYC for the Shows..."
...this is an affordable choice. The rooms are efficiently designed (not spaciously or luxuriously, so if you're looking to be outright pampered, I'd save up for something else). I had no inconveniences during my stay and the front desk/concierge were helpful when I needed them. Overall a great choice if you're looking to see the shows and need a nice […] but inexpensive place to stay. Read more
"Great location"
The hotel is in a great location, staff are friendly abd accomodating. Our first room was tiny and dark with a view of a brick wall. After calling the front desk, we were moved to a beautiful, big room with a great view. The only downside to the hotel was that there were bags of garbage and cleaning carts/ supplies in all of the hallways at all times. […] No matter when we were walking through the hotel the bsgs of garbage were there. It did not smell but looked messy and cluttered the hallways. Read more
"A Plesant surprise"
Concierge was excellent above and beyond initiative and follw up. Room was quite quiet-especially give the central location, Great Irish breakfast, Slow and small elevators however,
On The Ave Hotel is a modern hotel on the UWS and is very close to the 1 train. My room seemed a little small but it was very clean. The best thing I liked about the room was that it had a nice 32inch LCD TV mounted on the wall. The bathroom was rather large, but I think that might be because they gave me a hanicapped accessible room, which I was a […] little upset about. If you're looking for a fairly priced hotel on the UWS, look no farther than On the Ave. Read more
