This place was extremely sketchy - I actually feared for my safety. It's a run down motel with sketchy patrons and locals who stay up late outside in the parking lot. My boyfriend and I didn't sleep all night. Not worth staying - make the drive into Charlotte or stay at a larger chain.

This hotel needs lots of exterior work etc. The room heater was very noisy, the blankets had holes in them. The manager had to be contacted to bring soap/shampoo to our room. I wonder if the Howard Johnson Company is aware of the condition and service at this hotel. It appears to meet the most minimum standard for a hotel.

the hotel is very easy to find and is close to restaurants and anything you would need. it is an older motel but in very good condition. beds are very comfortable and not hard like a rock . . . I slept like a rock. this was my 2nd time staying there and will book it again next year.

The hotel was not bad place, the room was clean but the A/C-heat didn`t work so well but we got by. The biggest issue was that the hotel staff spoke very bad english, lookede as if they were from India maybe? The english they did speak was very broken and hard to understand, we saw 2 other patrons having the same issue while trying to get checked in. We would opt for a different room(we had a smoking one) and quite possible a different hotel, the location was our only reason for choosing this hotel.

The hotel is old and in need of renovation. The rooms are OK, but not great. Had a roach in the bathroom and rusty water in the tub on first night. No TV remote or channel listing in room upon arrival; after complaining, got remote which wasn't completely functional, and never got a channel listing--had to do my own. Staff is OK but aloof. Free breakfast includes NO HOT FOOD.

The worse looking Howard Johnson I have ever seen. Looked like it was in a drug and prostitution area. Don't stay there it is the worse for $125.00 I could have got 10x better......

The room was hot and then cool. It was cool if the AC was running but it did not stay cool when it was not. Train tracks about 150 feet away. Several trains went by during the night, blowing whistle each time.

If you want breakfast, get in your car and go to MacDonalds. They say that breakfast starts at 6am....thats "IF", the staff is up. The donuts and bagels were at least a week old and the coffee, well, lets just say I could stand a spoon in it. The "man" staff acted like I interrupted his morning dreams. In the future I will choose a different motel. But I have to say that there no bed bugs (that I could see).

Everything from lobby to exercise room to hotel room smelled dusty and musty - very poor air circulation in exercise use room made it feel worse than exercising in my basement. No trace of continental breakfast left at 9:30. Felt like place was 1 step away from closing. We picked HoJo because of sentimentality on my brothers part who was travelling with us. Frankly I will stick with Comfort Inn and Suites in the future

There were no many people there so that was a plus...had the pool all to ourselves, another plus.....but the room was a non-smoking but you could still smell the smoke, no matter what I did, air fresheners and spray. For the money I guess it was okay.......but would I stay there again, not so sure of that...

It looks they might be trying to resurrect this old gal. Serious attention needs to be paid to the walkways and hallways. Everything needs a good pressure washing, and in my opinion daily. There is no excuse for dirt. The room while tidy, smelled as if the surfaces had been wiped down with a sour rag. Nothing smells worse than that. When we walked into the front door vestibule, there was a dirty rag in the corner. Not a great welcome to the front desk. There is a tired dingy sadness about the entire property. A little cleaning would go a long way. Spit shine and polish and she could be good as new. They are not lacking on pleasantness. We paid nearly 150.00/night because it was race week. It was more of a 59.00/night establishment.

It was very nice, there was no microwave in the room and he told us there was. But it's located by everything , like good food and a mall. The room was clean and it was comfortable.

It was a great location to the race tracks and race shops. The only bad thing is the train tracks next to the hotel and the trains that go by at different times during the night.

Older hotel in good shape. Thank goodness it has the old in room air conditioners. It was the perfect white noise for the train. Hotel is right next door from Amtrak park and go! We stopped on a NHRA race weekend so I think the rates were a little higher than normal. No Waffles on breakfast bar. No extras here but good clean value for our money.

no microwave in the room though it was advertied. It was loud, there was a train going by several times during the night. The person at the counter was rude, when I quesiond why he was writing down my credit card info on a peice of paper his response was "go stay somewhere else". I said I will then he reminded me the room was already paid for and because it was a Sunday I couldn't cancel the reservation. I don't understand how I can make a reservation at 2pm on Sunday and can't cancel after 4pm the day Saturday the day before. I reserved 2 nights and didn't stay the second.

Very old, needs updating. Got an in-room call at 12:18AM from someone who claimed that the computers were down and wanted my information. Obviously they were trying to steal my identity. Called the cops. Cancelled my 3rd night. Not happy.

It is in a bad area of the city. My family didn't really enjoy themselves. So, I will not return to hotel when I have to come back to this area for my kid's tournaments.
