I stood in the front lobby waiting to check in while holding a sleeping child while one of the two people at the front desk took phone call after phone call before finally helping me. The internet was "temporarily out of service" but had been long enough to have a framed sign at the front desk. Room had to be accessed after either parking at a far side of the hotel and walking back to the front or by dragging my suitcase and still sleeping child up two flights of stairs. Noisy hallway, and the dried toothpaste from a previous customer on my hand towel was pretty disgusting.

We choose this as an upper-middle priced option for a few hours sleep during a two-day trip. Our check in was about 1:30 am, and we checked out about 7:00 am. Nonetheless, we made a mental note to comment later on the cleanliness, convenience and comfort of the entire hotel. The hot breakfast buffet included with the stay was way beyond expectations. The staff was efficient enough, but not particularly outgoing. Then again, it was the wee hours, and we weren't so chipper ourselves :-) For our purpose, this was the perfect choice, and we will stay here when we pass through again.

We stay in this hotel when we go to Winterplace, or as a resting point on the way to Snowshoe and have always had a good nights rest there. The breakfast is very good before a day of skiing.

WE PICKED THIS HOTEL FOR THE NAME AND RECOGNITION. SEVERAL NEWER HOTELS IN THE AREA, PRICED LESS FOR THE SAME ROOMS. WE STAYED AT A TIME THAT WAS WARM AND WE NEEDED AC. WENT OFF AND ON ALL NIGHT. WALLS WERE PAPER THIN AND COULD HEAR EVERYTHING FROM THE NEXT RROM. WE PAID THE SAME PRICE FOR A HAMPTON HOTEL NEAR THIS AREA AND EXPECTED SIMILAR ROOM. WE WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN AND WOULD NOT RECCOMEND.

Overall good experience, but don't plan to sleep in. Both mornings, the housekeepers started banging on doors and yelling up and down the hall to each other at 8:00. Since checkout isn't until noon, it doesn't seem necessary to make sure every living soul is out of bed that early!
