King size bed was the best thing about it. Didn't stay long enough to take advantage of the kitchenette. It was quiet and in a good location.

This hotel had poor service. The first night I had to switch rooms. The light in the bathroom didn't work. I notified the front desk upon check in around 3:30pm. I left the room for a couple of hours and when I returned the light had not been replaced. I called the front desk to inquire about the light. By this time, a new guy had come on. He stated […] that he did not have access to the bulbs needed for the bathroom and that I would have to wait until the morning. The room smelled so bad of old stale smoke. So while I was out I bout some Lysol and febreeze. I pulled back the covers to spray the sheets and found a red sock and brown streaks in the sheets. I then requested a new room, which I got. This room wasn't much better. I was there three nights, and my linen was never changed. I also had to go to the front desk and ask for extra towels. Location is good - very convenient. The room was spacious, and relatively clean. They notified me when I checked in that there was a problem with the comforter for the bed, and they were washing it (it was 6:30pm at this time). They said it would be done in a little while. They came up later saying it still wasn't dry. I finally convinced them that […] they MUST have others - though they swore up and down they didn't . Amazingly they did find an extra and it was ok, by about 8:30pm. With that and the various light bulbs that were out, it was just a little less than I expected. Read more

When the smoking room I booked wasn't avaialble on my last visit she worked to make sure I got what I booked. She is a delight to deal with, and the best employee they have. No matter the length of time stayed, each room should be cleaned on a daily basis. That is the only issue I had with this hotel. I wanted my sheets changed daily, fresh towels and room vaccuumed. Over all it was good. If you could improved on the cleaning, you would have excellent service.

Stayed here where I was partying in Rice University area and needed somewhere local. I liked the room itself where this is one of the better Extended Stay properties I have stayed in. (Even better than some Extended Stay Delux). I liked the Kitchen and faux wood floor finish. Receptionist was very friendly. The only issue I had was with the bed. It […] was creaky and I found that the base/ frame was smaller than the box/matress so that if you sat on edge of the bed, the bed started to lift up ! The base was also broken on 1 side that explained the creeking. It wasn't enough to bother me as it was still comfortable enough to sleep but I could see some high maintenance people not liking it. Although next to i59, the parking lot is sheltered from main service road. I didn't notice any appreciable road noise. One of the main benefits of this place is the location. Rice University is < 1 mile and within 5 minute walk ar some pubs / restuarants nearby. I know Houston and it is actually pretty safe around there. Check out Stags Head, 59 Dinner, Freebirds, Star Pizza off Shephard. For Sushi, check out "blue Fish" on Richmond, The Hobbit Cafe off morningside is recommended. Finally, the Mucky Duck is also worth checking out if you like Music and Irish food. Read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. First the female receptionist did not seem to have any clues of what she's doing, repeatedly asking for payment even though i explained to her it's already paid for from my reservation at hotels.com, finally after more than 10 minutes she seems to have it figured out and handed out a key to my room. Then it got worse, […] the kyes(cards) did NOT open the room, even after i went back TWICE to the front desk for different keys!! The third time I asked the male recept to come with me but still unable to open, at this point I was extremely tired and annoyed, after walking back and forth up and down the stairs with two luggages, i just want to get in and lie down, is that too much to ask?!! so i told him i'll wait while he go back and find the proper key. He came back with a hard key and i asked him how was i supposed to get in and out since i can't keep the hard key, He gave me a very nasty look and replied " you just want to get in right?! " Long story short, i finally got another room with keys that worked but it's after a strange 30 minutes ordeal and the WORST customer service i have ever experienced! I checked out 2 hours after checking in, a room next to me had 3-4 people in the room upon arrival and continued to have people showing up. Very loud and not sort of people I would associate with. When checking out the same kid (white t-shirt not older than 18) said he didn't even have anyone registered to that room. I told him then he really has a […] problem cause when I left their were about 7 people in the room, hanging over the rails shouting into the parking lot. As leaving the guy waiting asked him if there was a reason people were running all over the place having a party. Definately not a good experience. The guy at the front desk offered to call them and talk to them or change me to another room, he was very curtious, but at this point I felt very uncomfortable staying by myself anywhere in this hotel. No manager was on duty and so asked that the manager call me. Someone else from Extended Stay called me but it wasn't the manager I don't believe. Read more
