"convenient location, full kitchen"
this was a spartan but acceptable hotel. Few amenities, but large guest rooms and a full kitchen. Ideal for longer stay. Breakfast is a few bread products, juice and coffee. It was fine for us. Would be nice if they had grab bars in the shower. Beds were hard but ok. It was a good price and fit our needs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Won't stay here again"
Stayed here five years ago for several days and was satisfied. Hotel has gone downhill since then. Bathroom had not been adequately cleaned (urine on the floor) which made me wonder what else was dirty that I could not see. Bath tub did not drain properly. Blanket on bed torn. No one at desk when I wanted to check out. Paid too much for what I got. […] About the only really good thing I can say is that the location is excellent if you need to be close to the Texas Medical Center. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
For what I paid, I have no complaint. Everything related to the room, hotel location and condition was just alright to me. I'll come back to this place whenever possible.Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall a decent enough place to stay. But very disappointed with my room, I requested a non-smoking room, got a smoking room with a ozone air cleaner that wasn't effective at all. Comforter was not washed and reeked of cigarette smoke. Left the room smelling like ash trays. Even when I returned home my belongings smelled like stale cigarette smoke. […] But nothing laundry soap can't get out. Front desk employees not friendly at all and never smiled. Other workers that we ran into were very polite and greeted us with a smile. For a short stay probably would go back with the exception of definitely getting a true non smoking room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Motel needs serious upgrades"
We were very close to children's hospital and Ronald McDonald House where my daughter & family are staying. However the carpeting in room is so stained you need to wear slippers or shoes. The bath tub also is so stained the bottom of tub was grayish black. The microwave worked occasionally when called maintenance he said the bulb was burned out. Also […] the glass plate inside microwave was missing but the plastic piece with the wheels was in microwave. When asked about maid service was told they only clean once a week. No wonder the carpet and tub was so nasty. When going out to the pool you have to walk past the trash/alot of trash that stunk. We enjoyed the continental breakfast it was decent. "I would rather stay at Motel 6"
This hotel is the only one in my experience that they do not provide the necessities for shower needs such as: shower gel, shampoo, hair conditioner, klinesses. When I ask the desk clerk about it, she said we never had it. In the kitchen there is no dish soap. They do provide breakfast, but beside coffee, orange juice, single wrap muffins, batter for […] waffles, and some fruits, That's it! We will not stay there again. "Good hotel for what it was used for"
The hotel staff was very helpfull when I arrived. We only stayed for a day but the room was really big for a hotel. The Kitchen was nice to have even though it is small. Its more of a kitchenette with microwave, two burners, a sink, full size fridge, and dishwasher. The only Draw back was the bed because it was very firm which is to be expected at a […] hotel. Overall nice hotel and was worth the money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

First room was dirty and the light in the bathroom did not work had to shower in the dark. we requested another room, it was better, but I left a small fan and a phone charger in the first room. They said it was not there when I went to the front desk, a few days later they found the small fan but not my charger. Had to wait for towels and had to call […] twice for them. "Good enough in Houston."
If I had to do it again, I would. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, not quite scenic but not scary either. Easy to get in and out and close to the most important sites of Houston. They should update the bathrooms, but overall the room was satisfactory.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"You get what you pay for . . ."
Reasonal rates if you need to stay closest to medical center. We had a queen room and it was a very tight space. Convenient if you need to have an extended stay since a kitchen is provided. Not many cooking utensils, dishes, provided. You need to exchange your dirty towels at the front desk for clean ones. Room is only cleaned, garbage, bedding, etc. […] weekly. Mattress felt like a box spring and upholstered chair was stained. Parking is easy and noise level was low. Don't expect shampoo etc in your room because you need to ask at front desk. Wireless internet provided in room. If you are tight on cash and don't plan on being in your room that much and don't expect much, book this hotel. But I must say, I didn't see any of the larger most costly rooms in regard to space. But I'm sure the beds, furniture, bedding, pillows are the same across all room types. Iron, ironing board and hair dryer provided in room. Plenty of storage drawers. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"They have a dedicated Med Center shuttle"
Surprised I didn't (readily) see other reviews mentioning their shuttle - which is shared with their sister hotels in the area, comes about once an hour, and stops by about 10 or so popular Med Center bldgs. Otherwise, hotel condition is fare. Stinky hallway carpets definitely need replacement first. Beds are definitely FIRM. But staff was friendly, […] (free) breakfast fairly nice, and location can't be beat obviously. You'll have to drive south on Main or Fannin St. to find dinner. "I'll be coming back!"
My mother and I felt very at ease and comfortable at the hotel. We felt safe in the area location and our room. We were within a 5 minute drive from Mays Clinic. I would most definetly stay again on my next doctor visit.Genuine Expedia guest review
"a little disappointing"
More than a little seedy, it's not really what I would call 2 1/2 star rating. I think someone needs to really define what that means, because Expedia is all over the map. Sometimes their 2 1/2 star is amazing, but lately, it's been extremely disappointing. The room was small and a little dingy. I had to walk a really long distance to the room from […] the elevator. There was a piece of carrot on the floor in the elevator that was there for 2 days. The hallways smelled funny. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good Overall Stay...."
Stayed here while in town to catch an Astros game. Room was nice, clean, and perfect size for 2 people. 3 issues: front desk never answers the phone and they're never at the desk, ceilings are thin, and it's not 4 miles from minute maid park as advertised. More like 9 miles.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stay Only If You can't Find Vacancy Somewhere Else"
I had a problem with my phone. I could not call outside of the hotel. I reported it 3 times and got no response. There is no computer room for internet use. The breakfast was not good at all. The simple ammenities that you would expect was not in the room such as shampoo conditioner and dish liquid. Stay here only if every other hotel in town is booked […] to capacity! People at the desk were not as helpful as they could have been in my opinion. I will not stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"FInd another hotel"
The hotel has obvious poor maintenance. The kitchen has nothing (silver ware or plates) to it on. The whole hotel smells like cigarete and the quality and condition of beds and shower supplies is really poor. I am really sure there are better options in the same price range. "Only as a last resort"
Needed something close to Texas Children's. Checked-in and someone was already in the room we were first put in (awkward). Second room we were put in had a leaking fire sprinkler valve which was conveniently dripping into a trash can in the middle of the room. Since there were 4 of us we needed a double-bed room which there were none left. We were put […] into a king & sleeper sofa room which was unbelievably uncomfortable. Hotel offered nothing for these inconveniences. This location is on our future blacklist as our travels to Texas Children's will continue. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Extended Stay Deluxe Houston--Medical Center"
Uncomfortably hard & uneven mattress, thin pillow, two holes in an almost threadbare bathmat, dingy thin bath towels, cracked lampshade--nice hallway, lobby & breakfast room, but our room was showing the age of its furnishings. Very helpful & friendly staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenience and Comfort"
This hotel was within walking distance of the hospital where my father had surgery. That saved us from driving and parking hassles. "Extended Stay Deluxe-Houston Medical Center"
I would not reccomend this hotel. We checked into this hotel pretty late (around 1 AM) after delays at the airport and car rental place. The hotel lobby was locked when wer got there. There was telephone in the vestibule for contacting the night clerk after hours. I tried several times with this phone to no avail. I called the hotel on my cell phone […] and finally someone picked up. When we got to the room it appeared to be occupied, i.e. Personal belongings scattered about, used ash tray (in a non-smoking room), unmade bed etc. We went back downstairs. She gave us another room. We went back up stairs. This room was also dirty. Unmade bed, towels on the floor, the kitchenette was filthy. We went back to the lobby. The night clerk kept saying she didn't have anything to do with booking, that the day staff was responsible for that. She apologized and upgraded our room, and gave us the keys to a third room. We went up and upon entering the room noticed the bed was made and fell into it. The next morning we noticed the cupboards in the kitchennette were grimy, 2 dead roaches; one on the floor, one on the window sill, a filthy carpet and no towels. Not one. We ended up needing to stay for several more days for medical reasons, when we asked the front desk to extend our room she quickly (and without checking) told us the entire hotel was booked with no vacancy. We checked the hotel website where there seemed to be plenty of available rooms. Under normal circumstances I would not have considered extending a stay at such a hotel but my husband was being seen by a Dr @ MD Anderson and the hotel is very convenient to the hospital. In conclusion, this hotel experience was pretty unpleasant, and we've stayed in a lot of hotels over the years. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Horrible place to stay"
This extended suite was most horrible place I have stayed in a long time. It was dirty, and eveything was so old and outdated. "Extended Stay DELUXE Hotel Houston Braeswood"
The front desk clerk was somewhat helpful. The hotel smelled dirty/moldy. The room was unkept, the bed was very uncomfortable. The dangerous situation with a sink right next to an electric stovetop is an accident waiting to happen. The tub was stained gray, and the tile around the tub had missing caulk, and a dirty showerhead. Towels were like sandpaper. […] The noise level between floors was ridiculous. We heard someone walking the floor in the room above us at 2:30 AM - 3:30 AM. The hotel was spending money on upgrading the outside of the building before renovating the inside. They should have done the opposite..the inside is more important than cosmetics on the outside. EVERYTHING needs upgrading. But even then, this will definitely be our last visit at that hotel chain.
