This was a very nice hotel and we had a comfortable stay. The hotel room itself seemed very large compared to other hotel rooms. The only complaint was the in-room coffee. It was HORRID. Overall stay was fine. Nice water park but they did not mention you needed a "Dry Pass" for $5.00 to use the patio lawn furniture to relax and read a book??? CRAZY !

The staff was exceptional and the room was nicely furnished and comfortable. The bathroom was ok but needed some extra scrubbing. Grout was grimy in spots as were the floor tiles in the corners. Biggest problem was the walls were very thin and you could hear normal conversations from surrounding rooms.

The Waterpark was not included with your stay - $10 extra. We went to Darien Lake instead and had an amazing time. The hotel is in a convenient location and it is clean. It is just an older hotel that needs renovating, but it was clean and safe.

not happy at all, i booked hotel online through hotels.com and was told that the water park was included in the stay and I even asked again before I hung up and was told yes, the stay and the price included the stay. We booked the room because my son was wrestling in the section 5 sectionals at genessee coummunity college, we got to hotel around 10;30pm […] on friday night and up at 8 am and to breakfast in your restaurant where the hostess and servers as soon as we walked in; "your getting buffet right?" well i dont know can we see a menu? then another girl comes over, your getting buffet? it felt so rushed and so pressured. then we finish breakfast and go to front desk where there are two girls working there and explained to them about hotels.com and how we were promised the waterpark with our stay and they were not nice at all, not willing to work with us at all ? I explained how we didn't arrive till after 10:30 pm last night and had to be back at wrestling sectionals by 10:00 am and was it ok for my nine year old to go in for only one hour without having to pay for myself or my oldest son who is 26, that I would even pay for the nine year old for one hour, but can't me and my oldest son get in and they were not having it, didn't seem to care about what hotels.com had told us, it was between me and them and if nine year old wanted to go in the splash park then i would have to pay 15 for him to play and also 10 each for me and my oldest to stand there and watch? needless to say, the whole thing was ridiculous and uncalled for. thank you for your time. kandra Read more

Hotel staff was good .(nice always smiling) The hotel was old .Looked like needed more then upgrades. The room had ants. The bath room door was at best would close and the tolit would every 20 minutes.(p.s. the bathroom might have been the 4x4) A very old alarm clock that worked but did not wake anyone up. Booked on line because of two pools, get there to find out pools closed - would be nice to have known before staying two nights. Line of ants at entrance. ATM not working. A/C not working. A/C blowing out 70 degree air. Repair man said couldn't do anything and hotel booked. Went to front desk to complain - amazing how manager found two rooms with a/c […] running. Spent 2 hours searching the web for a hotel on my travel route that met my two requirements. Pet friendly and an indoor pool. Clarion Hotel in Batavia exceeded my requirements with not one but two pools, indoor and outdoor. What the web page did not mention was that the hotel was under renovation to install an indoor water park and both pools were not […] open. A pool is a perfect way to calm down and entertain 2 young children after a day on the road. I have since gone to the web site to see if the closings are mentioned, (they are not) but there is a video advertising the upcoming indoor water park. A very nice hotel, but if you are planning on having a swim during your stay, this hotel can not accomadate your needs. We booked our room through Hotels.com specifically because the hotel boasted of both an indoor and outdoor pool. Upon check-in we saw a sign stating that the indoor pool was closed due to the building of their water park. We later asked the desk clerk about the out-door pool and were advised that it was also closed due to the planned water park. It appeared that maintenance had been deferred in all other parts of the hotel. The guest halls and elevator lobbies were shabby (not shabby chic!). The hotel is surrounded by spotlights focused on the building for effect. There was one positioned so that we had the effect of full daylight in our room at midnight. Ceiling tiles in common areas were clearly moldy and everything needed a paint job. The Restaurant had tape on the walls from long past decorations and walls were dirty from the breakfast buffet. This was an old hotel that they tried to spruce up. The front desk staff was very helpful and courteous. The first room they gave me had a big wet spot on the ceiling and the "Popcorn" material from the ceiling had fallen all over the rug. We had a great stay on our way to Darien Lake. Very helpful and friendly staff. Our only suggestions would be to keep waterpark and restaurant open later, also to open the outdoor pool earlier as it doesn t open until noon after checkout.The waterpark closed at 8pm and restaurant at 9 missed both on check in comming from Canada.
