Holiday Inn York - York

For starters, the view out of my window what appeared to be the air conditioning unit for the hotel. Next to the air conditioning unit was empty spray paint cans that had rusted out. The window ledge was filthy - covered in dust and chipped off paint. In the bathroom, the air vent was caked with dust and the toilet would not stop running unless I jiggled […] the handle over and over again. The walls in the room were dirty...lots of smudges all over them. The beds covers were at least clean however, the mattress was very lumpy and sunk in when I laid down on it. I was not very impressed with this hotel for the dollar amount spent. There are better hotels in the area for the same price. Music going on close to the lobby and people coming in the front door going to restaurant for music. i mark on my hotel.com never want to stay there again for the price.

We flew back to NE for a long weekend to visit family in Geneva & Fairmont. The Holiday Inn I-80 in York was recommended by family because of the nice accommodations, Applebee’s restaurant and the easy Interstate access to both Lincoln and Geneva. The staff was pleasant and our room was quite nice, the only issue I had was poor cell reception. The heated […] pool wasn’t exactly heated but still refreshing after a long day of traveling from Phoenix, AZ. The Applebee’s was a perfect spot for a late night snack and drink. The highlight, however, was a 2 minute drive every morning to Starbucks!!! We would definitely stay there again. Go Big Red! Read more

My girlfriend and I stayed here at the beginning of Nov. 2011 and it was awsome. The pool was ok, no hot tub though. The room was very clean and had plenty of towels and pillows, always a plus. The best part was there is an applebees inside the hotel. Kind of expensive but not the hotels fault. Overall 4.8 out of 5

My husband and I decided to get away for some much needed relaxation! We went ahead and splurgged on the King Bed Hot Tub Suite. I must say that we got an amazing deal for the price as we've paid more for a room that only had a 1 person jucuzzi suite. The tub fit both of us nicely and we were able to relax together. We recently utilized the HI in York for a a group of us attending a family reunion. The convenience factor of being right on the highway and having a sometimes acceptable resturant on premisis made it a logical choice since no other in York offered those amenities. The room was acceptable but they seemed rather put out that I needed a mini fridge for […] my insulin. The manager stepped in and assured me finaly that one not only could, but had been already provided - One of the parties reservations, they assured me, had been cancelled and the current rates were almost double what we had booked on line. I happened to have a copy of the reservation and the desk clerk assured me that someone had called and canceled. Since I had made the reservations I was fairly confident that had not occured. Again, the manager stepped in and after a couple minutes of digging 'found' the reservation on their computer. Though the room was clean and fairly comfortable, cleaning did not extend below the sink where mold was growing in the grout betweed the tile - in one place it was higher than the tile. The resturant - order the sizzling apple pie, but, aboid at all costs the riblets - - impossible to chew - I will say that the service at the resturant was well above par and special mention to the constant problem solving of Heather in getting orders right. A word of caution, on the weekends do not arrive late - though not well notified - they stop breakfast at 10 am - for those of us on the west coast that is 8 am - and we arrived 5 minutes after and were refused service. Would I recommend this place to others, yes, but, with disclaimers that they get all their ducks in a row and have all documentation on reservations before arriving and if you have special needs make them very clear and insure that they have agreed to accomodate them. The Applebees Restaurant was connected and it serves breakfast as well as the other meals. That was a plus for us. The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean. I would recommend this hotel very highly. It was below zero wind chills and the room never did get really warm.

Rooms have recently been updated and are clean - felt OK having kids play on the floor and nice comfortable beds. Concerns: No continental breakfast (Applebees available in building but not as nice as being flexible with time) Room not cleaned first day - we were getting ready for the wedding and they did not come back, No elevator for elderly family […] members Some of the room doors and outside doors do not shut tight without and extra tug - think your room is locked when it is not so double check your door. Hotel was clean, quiet(right next to Interstate) had an Applebee's restaurant (their breakfast was awful), easily accessible. Good experience and would definitely stay again should the need arise.

The hotel was great but when booked it gave us a choice of smoking or non-smoking on the hotels.com website. Upon checkin we were informed the hotel is completely non-smoking. So beware if you are a smoker.
