This hotel is perfectly acceptable, but not for the cost. It shows its age. It is clean, the staff is friendly, it is quiet, but it reeks of mold and dust. Haved stayed previously and have noticed a smell in the halls and room. Breakfast was less than average. Would have been nice to know road construction closed the exit resulting in about a 25 mile out of the way trip. Hotel was not concerned. All in all, not my best hotel experience.

Stayed here with my kids because of the pool. it was filthy and there was mold around the entire brick border. The water in both the pool and hot tub was dirty. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I ever slept in.

Rooms was fine for a single night stay. Breakfast included was nice, but quality was average. Did not like the room fan turning off and on at night, so make sure you set it to low on.

This is the nicest Holiday Inn I have personally stayed at. The atrium was beautiful with a nice stone fireplace and sitting area. The hotel was clean and new. The pool and hot tub were clean and well maintained. If I am in this area again, this is where I will stay.

For the price you would've expected a better quality hotel. I called ahead to make arrangements for an early check in (Noon) due to the needs of my special needs child. The night shift clerk I spoke to was very helpful and accomondating and told me there was indeed a room available. When I got there to check in the day shift was rude, letting me know […] I wasnt guranteed a room early no matter what I was told and "dont I realize it's Saturday" the dayshift claimed it was a hard day for an early check in.. After a 5mn lecture from the rude front desk girl I asked her to just look and see if there was a room saved as i was told by the night shift there would be and sure enough there was. So the rudeness was uncalled for. The jacuzzi didnt work, the pool was cold and the wifi in the rooms didnt work. Nothing was fixed when requested. The area is great lots of places to eat and the hotel had a large hot breakfast that was free, that was the only thing that was good about this hotel. Our stay was fine but when we arrived we were given key to room and when we unlocked door there was still other peoples stuff in there. thankfully that was all we saw. turned around quickly and went back to desk. that made us a little uneasy wondering if that could happen to us and if it did would person be honest or would they go through our stuff

The Holiday Inn Mt. Vernon has been well maintained over the years and is very comfortable. Worth the few extra dollars to stay here. My fiance and I only spent one night at this hotel during a long road trip. The hotel was pet friendly, which was a huge plus. Lots of restaurants and amenities nearby, which we would have enjoyed if we had stayed longer. The complimentary breakfast was good, complete with eggs, ham, and sausage (not just pastries).

Our family of four needed a stop over during out travels, this hotel was perfect. Decent sized pool and an outdoor patio adjoining it for lounging. Hotel was updated, clean, comfortable and and exactly what we needed...only drawback was that wi-fi was only available in common areas, regular Internet connections available in all the rooms tough.

My family stayed the night in this place while on the way down to florida. It was a good price compaired to the places located around it. It was clean and the staff was helpful. We are generally low maintance travelers so I didn't look for things like dust in the vents and other such nonsense.

While the hotels itself was a nice place to stay, the front desk folks left something to be desired. For me personally as a guest, I have no interest in learning about the check-in lady's pregnancy; it was just unnecessary conversation from a working woman. It made me uncomfortable.
