We were very disappointed. We stayed there a year ago but it has gone downhill in a year. We expressed our concerns upon checkout and they didn't even acknowledge it. Won't go back and can't recommend it to anyone else.

Pros: Economic, slept like a BABY, those beds can't be beat, SO comfortable, awesome pool, delicious, hot breakfast, and great location. Cons: Stains on carpet and musty smell. So, overall, I would say that with a little more deep cleaning, this hotel is a keeper. I would stay again.

At first, the location seemed set apart from everything. But then we discovered it was just down the street from shopping, restaurants and close to West World. The hotel is older and the bathroom was tiny! You had to manuever around, just to close the door. The breakfast buffet was disappointing. The hotel was more than I expected for the cost - the room was spacious and comfortable, the staff was so attentive to anything I requested (wake up calls, forgot my toothpaste, room service, taxis), and everything was very clean. No complaints here! I would definitely stay again.

The first was a little odd. We went into the room and the TV was missing. However, It took all of 2 seconds for them to give us a new room. Hey stuff happens right? This hotel was entirely od, tired and unclean. Bathroom tiny and floors sticky. Towels left on floor were rolled up and rehung to use again! Bed linens unchanged and found cleaning supplies left inside made bed. Got dishes from front desk and they were filthy had to wash everything ourselves to use.

This hotel is located next to the Scottsdale airport which is a great location to the airport as well as nearby shopping and food locations. From a traveler that travels frequently, this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The room reminded me of a larger version of a Motel 6. I was going to heat up some left overs only to find that I didn’t […] have any china or utensils. I finally found a small sign that said to call the front desk. The drains in the bathroom didn’t drain very well. The exercise room has a couple machines that are old and dirty. I went to the pool and found it to be ice cold. I then attempted the hot tub which was a little warmer but, ice cold water was coming from the jets. I stayed two nights and found that both mornings the breakfast buffet that is included is by far the worst I have ever seen. Cold hard eggs, lack of fresh fruit/yogurt, no cups for juice or water and dirty eating utensils. I overheard a family trying to decide where to go to get a decent breakfast. One morning I didn’t eat anything and took my meal ticket to the front desk to make the front desk person aware and get a bottle of water to go. After giving my meal ticket to the front desk person, she quickly charged me $2.00 for my bottle of water. Read more

Not impressed at all with the room. Bathroom was entirely to small and no separate air conditioning/heat system in the bedroom. Also, the sheets did not even cover the entire mattress so it came off during the night as I slept. On a good note the front desk, lounge and cleaning staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

This hotel was a bit of a disappointment. The rooms were old and dirty, the bathtub had footprints from shoes in it, the tv's didn't have remotes and one didn't even work, but the staff was quick to fix any problems and very apologetic, assuring us that they were working to update the rooms. A little off the beaten path if you are not staying there to specifically fly out of the Scottsdale Airport. I expected it to a much higher hotel based on the pictures on this website but the grounds were not in as nice a shape as shown. That said the staff was very friendly and the rooms clean.

I have stayed at the Scottsdale Thunderbird Suites in the past and I was always satisfied. However, our room did not get cleaned for an overnight stay and when I call the front desk, the person who answered was rude!! I will certainly reconsider staying here in the future.

We choose Thunderbird for the location and the price. It is right where you want to be in North Scottsdale but that's about it. The beds and pillows were comfortable. But, the carpet in the room had multiple stains, as well as the furniture. The walls were dirty. The lighting was dim. There were 2 glasses to use in the kitchen. The bathroom almost fit […] one person. Housekeeping did not shut or room door tightly so anyone could have walked in during an 8 hour period of time while we were gone. There is no safe. The room was clean and nice, the bed was very nice, the breakfast was ok, if this hotel was in a different location I would stay here again however it is next to a municipal airport and an industrial park, the planes start taking off around 6 AM, we also had garbage trucks starting at 6 AM and one morning we had the landscapers using their leaf blowers […] to clean the parking lot across the street at 6 AM. Would definately stay at this hotel again only because of the staff at the front desk. The rooms were very comfortable, although lighting poor. Rooms being renovated some have the new flat screen tv's. Good location, close to many restaurants and malls. IPic Theatre just down the street.

Check-in staff was pleasant, but the rooms seemed to smell a little off even though they're no-smoking rooms. However, they were clean. Breakfast was decent. My biggest complaint was that one evening coming back to my room after being at work all day, my door was almost closed, you could see the door jam and a sliver into the living room. They agreed and said that was unacceptable and she would let the Housekeeping Manager know. I stayed there for 8 days and they were having construction issues in which there was no water from the hours of 12:00 - 3:00 daily. The management did post daily on my door that this was going to occur. The hotel offers a free breakfast daily. Not once was the eggs or meat hot.

The mattress was broken down in the middle and needed replacement. The bathroom was very small. The overnight cost did include a hot breakfast, which was a nice feature. Melinda [at the reception desk] was pleasant and helpful.

Had a great stay at the Thunderbird Suites. The room was comfortable and was cleaned each day with fresh towels. The free hot breakfast with plenty to choose from was amazing too. The location was awesome and close to most everything in Scottsdale including the Scottsdale Quarter shopping area which was just 2 blocks away. The heated pool was a bonus […] as well as the hot tub. The only negative thing I can say about my stay that was that it is right next to the Scottsdale airport. Private jets taking off during the day which was loud at times and the smell of avatition fuel too. But I have to say I was always loking up as a jet took off to see the size of it. The room/suite was large and clean. Bathroom was tiny and TV in bedroom didn't work but that was minor. Staff helped with early check in and late check out as well as providing directions to a restaurant we were going to. Golf courses close by, including TPC Stadium course (1.5 m away).
