Holiday inn in Killarney is class staff are friendly and helpful. And one thing I liked is the have smoking rooms not like other hotels I have stayed in. Myself and my son spent the weekend at the rally of the lakes and holiday inn was spot on.

Great experience. Close to the center of Killarney. The Grand pub great for evening music and The Laurels pub cozy with good food. The hotel manager at the holiday inn made sure we had a lovely stay!

The town is a big tourist town. Big tour busses all day long. And down town is a night mare. I suggest staying somewhere else in the area. We really only made it downtown once as this place is a 10-15 min. Walk and don't even think of driving. Dingle was nice, perhaps a bit remote for some. We were looking for a nice break from the city after staying […] in Dublin and Kilarney is not it. I suggest Waterford for a great Italian style piazza with lots of shops etc.... We arrived a little late from Galway they gave me a room that smell like dirty clothes so I had to ask for another the carpet looks very dirty like have not been changed or washed since the hotel was built. The service was ok we spent only one night.

Nice Hotel. Clean. Comfortable. Nice bathroom. Comfortable reception and lounge area with fireplace and free wireless. Indoor pool was fun for the kids. Restaurant and bar on premise were decent and pleasant when not in mood to drive anywhere. Ample parking, at least off-season. It was a very enjoyable stay. The only thing I was not happy with was that on the weekend of the rally of the lakes breakfast did not start until 7:30. Now if you want to see the first stage of the rally you have to be at the stage for 7 or half past 7, which means you miss breakfast. Our main priority was to have a swimming pool in use and this hotel had a quiet little pool within easy vicinity to our room; very convenient. LOVELY lobby area, really homely and warm. Would have been nice to have the breakfast included in the price though. Overall a very nice hotel.

Overall I thought the Hotel Staff were very engaging, friendly and helpful. The food was of a good quality and the leisure centre was good. My one concern was that I thought the Hotel could do with a face-lift. For instance wallpaper was coming off the walls in the bedroom and the paintwork was quiet shabby in places.

Although I could flag up one or two negatives it feels quite unjust as the quality of service and attentiveness of staff is without doubt beyond compare. We booked a suite because there were 5 of us. It was clean, beds were comfortable and housekeeping called every day offering to clean the room. There was no lock on the bathroom door which upset my […] daughter. There was a fridge in the room which was great. A microwave and 2 electric rings none of which worked. My only other complaint was that the full breakfast of bacon,sausage etc .....included scrambled egg (my pet hate) with no option for fried. All petty complaints. This hotel was a little farther from town that what we would have liked. They said it was a 10 minute walk, but it was more like 20 minutes. We were going to go swimming in the pool, but there were alot of kids. Hotel was clean and the food in the pub was good. Huge suite - 2 TV's were great. Fridge was handy. Fold out bed was a bit rickety. Room was comfy and clean. 10-15 min walk from town centre. Very pricey - but then it was New Years Eve. Extra charge for wifi was cheeky.

When we checked in, the room they first gave us had the 2 double beds as requested, but one was not made and the mattress was quite disgusting. We went back to the reception desk and advised them about the room. After they went down and looked at the room and tryed to get another mattress and couldn't, they then gave us another room that was a not a […] non-smoking room which is what we had reserved (I am an ex-smoker and the smell really bothers me). That room was a tad bit better (at least the beds where made), but the beds were extremely uncomfortable. The next morning, we went to the reception desk to find out about switching to a non-smoking room as that is what we had reserved. On the way down to the reception desk, we saw quite a few rooms that the maids were in the process of cleaning that were no longer occupied. They proceeded to tell us that they did not have any due to all the nonsmoking rooms were reserved. I advised them that I had reserved a nonsmoking room. They moved us to another room (this is now the 3rd room) but they were not happy about it. It was somewhat better as it as a nonsmoking room so it didn't smell. The beds were a tad bit more comfortable. Had there not been a cancellation fee, we probably would have checked out early and gone elsewhere. I was very disappointed with this hotel. Also, when I booked the room, one of the things I looked for was a hotel that had laundry faciliites for guests to use as I needed to do some laundry.. The site said they had this as well as laundry service, however this hotel did not have any laundry facilities, only laundry service. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and at this point, I am not sure if I would stay at a Holiday Inn again. Read more

Overall I really liked this hotel. My family is all from Kerry and I know Killarney very well. Myself and my son went there for a communion and stayed at the Holiday Inn. Loved the location, loved the hotel. The pool was small but did the trick. The hotel staff were very friendly...although i did ring to ask for an early check-in as I was going to the […] communion and family dinner afterwards and wanted to get ready but the lady on the phone just said straight out "No" I said was there anyway they could accommodate me and she just said "No" again. Was a bit annoyed but when i got there the guy on reception was really nice and all the other staff too, so this was easily forgotten. Maybe that lady was having a bad day lol. The bar in the hotel was nice, staff again very friendly and it had a pool table for a bit of distraction. Hotel was about 5 mins walk from from the main street in Killarney town with nice views of the mountains and the road its on is really nice. Had a nice stay at this hotel, staff very friendly, ate in the bar and enjoyed the food, fairly basic but quality was good. Rooms very good, had a twin and both beds were doubles. Hotel is a little bit too far out of town to walk in/out unless you fancy a long stroll but taxis are no problem. The price we got was excellent and in included breakfast […] which was also very good with a good selection of the usual cooked breakfast stuff plus lots of cereals, fruits, yoghurts and pastries.
