"close to sights/shopping"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
We loved it - great location, staff and breakfast. Lovely, large second floor room.
"Nice Place"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The Hotel was clean and comfortable. Wi-Fi was free in the lobby. It was a short walk from where the airport bus dropped us off and shopping/restaurants. Most of the tourist spots are a bit farther, but still very walkable.
"Good Value"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The Ardmore is a clean, modern hotel that has power showers and staff that are friendly. The food served is well prepared and affordable. For the money it can't be beat, but if you want nice pillows, soft towels& cozy bedding then you should spend the extra money to get them. Those of us who prefer value over the little "extras" would love this hotel. The 15 minute bus ride into downtown wasn't bad unless you JUST missed the bus and have to wait another twenty minutes to get on. It is a great location for a first night into Dublin or your last because it is only 15 minutes to the airport!

"Close enough to everything, far enough for quiet"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 3, 2012
Very pleasant. We stayed directly in temple bar 3 nights before and wanted one night of quiet before we left. Receptionist was extremely helpful and even mailed a postcard for me so I wouldn't have to walk. Would stay again.

"No frills but all you really need"
Stayed at the Pearse for a week while I attended a conference at Trinity College. It is a 15 minute walk from downtown with easy access to a number of pubs. The room was spacious and clean. The front desk folks were helpful. I travel a lot and I don't need to live in the lap of luxury when I am on the road. The Pearse served all of my needs.
"The Pearce in Dublin, close to Trinity"
Quite nice staff. Quiet restaurant/bar in the evening. Breakfast normal array of choices. No television to speak of the movie system is extremely outdated so it's hard to watch a movie in the room. It's settled in a bit of a dull area but a 10 minute walk in either direction gives you the O2 or the College. For the money, it was a nice, reasonable […] choice. Read more
"A quiet part of Dublin"
I stayed five nights at the Pearse. The room was always clean, with a coffee and tea pot, hair dryer, iron and ironing board in the room. There is a convenience store next door and a nice restaurant attached where you can both get breakfast and have drinks at night while watching the soccer game. The hotel is on a major street about a twenty minute […] walk from Temple Bar and Grafton Street, the main tourist area. The neighborhood itself was quiet but a bit run down; some might feel uncomfortable walking it at night. The only drawback was the TV service - it only had five channels and Irish TV simply isn't up to American standards; one channel showed dart throwing competitions every day. Otherwise, it was fine. "Pearse- not worth it."
Although the hotel was nice and was within walking distance of Temple Bar, I would not stay here again. The location was a little out of the way and it took about 15 minutes to walk downtown. The hotel staff was not at all helpful with tourist suggestions, restaurant choices or justices general inquiries. My biggest complaint is the fact that the wireless […] Internet was very, very expensive. Luckily, many restaurants and pubs had free access to customers. As a side note, DO NOT order the nachos at the hotel bar! The are the worst in the world! Read more

"Cheap room"
We needed a cheap room for four, for a single night in dublin. The hotel staff didn't understand that we needed our laundry done quickly and were looking for a place to do so. They kept telling us that we could have it done within two days. We finally bucked up and took it to a place down the road. Ok part of town, about 40min walk to Jameson and G […] uiness. Read more

"Look elsewhere"
We were in Ireland for 8 nights and our one night here at the Holiday Inn was our only unfortunate stay. We encountered several problems with our room during our one night stay at the Holiday Inn. First, we had issues getting into the parking garage due to the fact that the front desk controls the gates and had no idea we were waiting to get in. […] Second, the parking garage was filled with a horrid stench of garbage--to the point where you had to hold your breath! Third, the rooms were insanely hot. If you opened the window at night, we had to hear the courtyard door slam shut nearly every 10 minutes until about 6am. When we asked the front desk if they had a fan and explained how hot it was in our room, he refused to help us and did not offer any solutions. Very rude gentleman. Finally, the beds and pillows are a complete joke in terms of comfort. It has been a few days and my neck and back still hurt. We slept about 1 hour total that night due to the annoyances and will never be back to stay there again. AVOID if possible! Read more
"Handy and comfortable!"
The area around the hotel is a bit run-down but the hotel itself was good - clean and the staff were friendly. Its in a good location for all the sights. However I would strongly recommend that you have your Irish breakfast 3 minutes up the road towards Trinity College at Lombards for 8-10 euros (small-large plate) rather than the one in the hotel for […] 15 euros. It was a real let down and too expensive for what you got. Dublin itself is a very expensive city and don't forget your umbrella when you go! Read more
Efficient, good value, functional, good breakfast.
"Great service, good food"
Great hotel, receptionists were fantastic, bar staff very friendly and willing to help, rooms were extremely clean and looked like they had just been redecorated. The hotel seems to be located in the high class business area of the city and it takes the full 15 mins brisk walk to get into the centre of things, but its a straight forward walk to get […] there. We travelled my train and it took half an hour to walk to hotel and we needed to ask for directions but everyone we asked knew where the hotel was. Read more
"Pearse Hotel , central location."
Family of 4 stayed , had 2 rooms adjoining and with connecting door . Good comfortable hotel , centrally located about 10min. walk from city center and excellent value for money . Had breakfast each morning which wasas good as would be got anywhere. I would recommend it to any one.
staff not a all frendley
"1 hour of wifi = NINE EURO."
Avoid this place at all costs. Got completely ripped off by their wifi, which didn't work in my room, but because I had no other options [the hotel is in the middle of nowhere] I had to pay. Worst hotel experience of my life: evidence of mindless cost cutting is everywhere - e.g. no furniture in the lobby, only one piece of soap in each hotel room, […] no extra blankets. And yet this place is expensive for what you get. Terrible, terrible, terrible hotel. Did I mention it was terrible? Read more
"Honest Review"
The hotel was nice, be aware that they include a stealth charge of €10 per day to park in their car park?? So if you are pricing a two night stay factor this in. The location is a good walk from the city centre but the stay was good overall and the hotel would be nice for anyone to stay in.
"Good location"
Hotel is in a very good location for the Grand Canal Theatre which is just around the corner. O2 arena is approx.15min walk away. The hotel itself is standard, no frills but very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. We ate in the hotel bistro, the food was very good and reasonably priced. Overall we found the hotel reasonably priced and good […] value for money. Well done to the Pearse Hotel & staff! Read more
"Great location, average hotel"
After reading some of the reviews I was slightly put off from staying here but was pleasently surprised. The rooms are showing signs of age and could do with some renovation but the location is great. 5 mins walk to Pearse St Station or 10 mins to Trinity College, can't complain. If you are looking for a decent place to stay centrally and dont want […] to pay over the odds, I would recommend staying here. Read more

"Holiday Inn Dublin"
This hotel needs a re-vamp, its a little on the scruffy side! but other than that we we were very happy with our stay the rooms were clean the staff were very welcoming and we really enjoyed our stay there.
Hotel advertised as 10 minutes walk from O2 it actually took 20 minutes.
Room :- - Walls were dirty (including a pubic hair stuck to the wall) - Dust build up between carpets and skirting - Carpets visibly dirty - Tv picture fuzzy - Tv remote disgustingly dirty and numbers mostly rubbed off - No amenities apart from a wall mounted squeeze bottle of soap Bar area :- dust build up on lights, not from a few days either Breakfast […] :- scrambled eggs were one big mass of watery rubber Read more
"very poor experience!"
The check In agent could not find my reservation, even tho I had my reservation confirmation at hand. My name appeared completely wrong spelled in the check-in system. After 15 min (!!!) at check-in desk I finally got my room key. Room was on the top floor (3rd floor). When I opened the door I realized that there was something wrong. The room was either […] occupied by someone else or not cleaned up by housekeeping. I went down to the reception desk and told the same guy that checked me in, what happened. I expected a apologies but instead he told me that this cant be true! Excuse me, did you tell me I am telling you a lie? That was disgusting! The same guy check me out the next morning and again no apologies or what so ever. I asked for a invoice, but this was denied. Never again! Read more

Reception pleasant and courteous and breakfast food was very good and wait staff for breakfast very pleasant and helpful. Room was spacial enough for 2 how ever maintenance need to be done. Mould on shower curtain and bath wall, grout coming out, loose handles and matresses and pillows were past their use by date. Pillows very hard and matresses saging. Room […] was quiet but corridors smelt of faint oder of tobacco. Internet services were not free as was the case in other holiday inn hotels that we stayed at. They advertised secure off street parking but only at check-in did they advise that it was an additional considerable cost (20euros per night). Previous stays at other holiday inn was free for off street secure parking. Great location and good service by staff, shame about the old unkept look af the hotel. Renovation and modernisation would be a great idea, and more frequent maintenance. Read more
The breakfast costs 14.95 and we had only cereal, rashers and sausages to choose from, when I asked for tomato, they were not cooked through at all and we not grilled fully. we also asked for service at the bar as residents the night before and were told that only happens in '5* hotels' which is ridiculous and the employee was very rude

"POSIZIONE MOLTO VICINA AL CENTRO"
POSIZIONE MOLTO COMODA PER RAGGIUNGERE IL CENTRO A PIEDI (POCO PIU' DI 5 MINUTI). CAMERA PULITA E SPAZIOSA, LETTI GRANDI MA UN PO' TROPPO MORBIDI. MISCELATORE DELLA DOCCIA NON TROPPO PRECISO E DIFFICILMENTE REGOLABILE. BUONA LA PRIMA COLAZIONE. OTTIMO IL RAPPORTO QUALITA'-PREZZO.
"Pearce Hotel, Dublin"
Read more

"The pearse hotel-prisvärt hotell nära till allt!"
Underbart hotel, fantastisk personal, fin service och god mat! Nära till Temple Bar Area och allt som Dublin har att erbjuda. Rekommenderas varmt! Tackar! Sandra
