Our room had two minor issues which we reported at checkout. (Refrigerator did not work well due to broken seal on door and toilet needed a little tightening) I will trust the hotel will address these maintenance issues. The suite was clean, comfortable and pleasing for our stay. This is always our first choice of accommodations, so much better than a standard room. The Hotel has simple elegance and a top rate, friendly and efficient staff.

The staff were courteous and helpful. The room was bright, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent value. An enjoyable stay all round.

"beware the hidden fee"
not feel good about this hotel, hot tub is not working. beware the hidden fee. don't touch the tv if you don't know what your doing. not real free bread-first. don't make any phone call, they will try to charge you on everything. hate it.
"Poor customer service"
I Pre paid the accommodation for this hotel. It was very unfortunate that my balance on my credit card was insufficient to cover the required deposit. I offered the csr to debit even more than the required deposit. But the front desk is closed minded on the Policy which ican understand, but to deny me my booking which i paid already without offering […] any option is a little unacceptable. I have been to this hotel more than a few times, I will never stay here again nor recommend it to anybody due to bad service. "your agent"
he gave me 3 choices of rooms i pick the suite on the penhouse floor and paid. when arriving at the hotel they told me the booking agent has no authurity to pick rooms. i felt betrayed, why did he not tell me that i have no choice he can only see availibility. what are you going to do about ruining my night?

We arrived at 9 pm, the heater did not work, the wireless internet did not work.
Good for the price, the whirlpool was in desperate need of cleaning. Pool deck very slipery and was covered with water, found it dangerous.
"Well maintained and worthy of the price"
This hotel is a bit dated but well maintained and comfortable. Extremely low ceilings made the hallways feel small but the room and bed made up for it - very comfortable. However, the walls are incredibly thin and you can hear people and the cleaning crew in the hallways in the morning. Not a deal breaker but something to be aware of. Internet system is too slow, even cannot use it. For this reason, I do not recommend this hotel.

"VERY accommodating"
I was traveling to Toronto from NYC for a wedding, and this hotel was literally 5 mins away from the reception site, 25mins from the airport, and 15mins from the Yorkdale shopping center. I needed an early check in @ 12pm as my flight landed at 11:30 and the wedding started at 3. The entire staff was VERY accommodating, managed to get us checked in […] early. The downstairs restaurant served delicious food served by a very friendly wait staff. The hair dryer was broken in our room and within 20mins of telling the front desk, it was fixed and I was able to dry my hair with enough time to spare. "Out of Air Con."
This is not the 1st time I stay in this hotel, 2 times out of 3 have air condition problem. 1st time i got the room change, but 2nd time they could only offer me a fan since they have no room at all. Service are really disappointed.
"Recommended"
-Clean, bright and spacious rooms -Ample guest parking -pools could use some cleaning, water looked muggy -air conditioning units in the rooms could use an upgrade -good value for money
"charge local calls without inform customer ahead"
Everything was great, except that the local calls were charged $1 per call without telling me in advance. The sign on the telephone in the room said "local free!", but when I checked out, I was charged $1.0 for each call. Customer service is excellent. The room is dated and need of renovation, especially, the air condition. The full breakfast is very nice.
"hotel room"
air condition not working. give us another room, the air condition is not any better. we ended up suffer a sleepless night in the heat of AUGUST.
"Health Unit needs to Look at the Pool"
The rooms are clean and up to date. The pool was gross. I think they have dim lighting in there to make it difficult to see the brown scum built up around the pool at the water line. Not to mention the filtration system doesn't seem to be working well. The whirl pool had white crap floating in it. Nice hotel. Stay, just don't use the pools...
Some of front desk not helpful. Had none of the advertised shaving kit. Told to go down the street to get a razor. Room had ants. Best part of the hotel was the maid. She was pleasant and helpful. Provided clean towels and got maintenance to get rid of the ants
"Markham Holiday Inn"
The issue was the condition of the room. Shears had huge rips in them; air conditioning wasn't working properly and it was a very hot weekend, and the big issue is that it was dirty under the beds, including a peanut, and with a child that has a peanut allergy, this could have resulted in a serious situation.

Hotel is old style and decor is from decades ago. Hotel's corridors are not clean and you can see some papers and rubbish there. Inside the room, it looks like a 3 stars hotel.
