The hotel was nice at some point, but it is well loved and is in need of remodeling. The staff was friendly and helpful at finding local attractions. The location was fine if you don't mind walking a ways to the attractions. Parking was limited (only about 8-10 spots for the whole hotel). We managed to get the last parking spot available and it took […] about 30 minutes to get my car in the spot because it was so tight. I drive a Honda CRV and it was maxing out the spot and had to pull my mirrors in. The staff was friendly but incompetent. We were double charged for our room. Expedia had paid the room in advance, but the Holiday Inn decided to charge my credit card for the full price of 2 nights. If I hadn't gone over my credit card statement, I would have paid twice the amount. Watch for this!! I also had to pay for breakfast for my child at the hotel even though upon completing the reservation I was 100% forthcoming in my details on numbers and ages of people staying. It was frustrating because I was comparing the prices with other hotels based on price (including breakfast). Read more

While a standard Holiday Inn by design and style, it seemed a bit overpriced for what you get. Business travelers might be annoyed with the WiFi. You have to re-log in every 30 minutes. Also our room wouldn't allow you to use two devices on the WiFi.

Our last night in Europe before a very long flight back to NZ with two young children. We needed to rest and relax as much as possible before the flight. We had an excellent large quiet courtyard facing room and arranged a late checkout to 2pm. The front reception staff were incredibly helpful and friendly.

Not too far a walk from Kettenbruckengasse station, we asked for a non smoking room and I believe we got one, but I think previous travellers ignore this and smoke, the whole room absolutely reeked of smoke, it was embedded in the sheets, the walls, the carpet, the chair, we had to leave the windows open the whole time just to let fresh air in. The […] staff at the front desk were very helpful with directions and maps, they were even so kind as to print out a bus schedule for us and a very helpful map. The room is small compared to other hotels, no english speaking channels on the television. And the toilet was without a doubt the worst design I have ever come across. The location is actually a brisk walking distance from Karlsplatz on Weinerstrasse. From Wien Westbahnoff we took the U6 till Langfeldgasse and changed to U4 till Kettenbruckengasse. Get […] off here and go outside the station to Rechte Wienzeile (choose the narrower street running parallel to the station). On this street take the first right turn which is Franzengasse (a low traffic walker friendly street) and Holiday Inn is at the end of this street. You can also reach Margaretenstrasse on which the hotel is located going the same distance on Kettenbruckengasse (more traffic, but more shops and cafes) which is parallel to Franzengasse. Read more

Wir waren als Paar am Wochenende da. Das Personal wahr sehr freundlich. Frühstück und Zimmer haben gehobenen Mittelklassestandard. Die Kenntnisse der Barmixerin waren noch ausbaufähig ... aber die Drinks dennoch in Ordnung. Durch die günstige Lage ist am zu Fuß schnell am Naschmarkt und im Apollokino.
