"They should call it the A...."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
For the price paid this hotel is totally worth the money. Free breakfast and no resort fees! Location right on fremont. Hotel staff were very nice compared to some higher priced hotels. Front desk was friendly at check in. Valet guys were nice. Breakfast was awesome. Room was a little dated and tired but for the rate paid it was clean, quiet and safe.
"Great Price, Poor Hotel Upkeep"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
The room was a steal at the price, and it was right on the strip. Only complaints /i had were poor lobby lay-out (had to ask where the check in desk was) and poor room and elevator maintenance, the elevators shook so bad i thought we could plunge to the bottom at any moment.

Glittering, larger-than-life gambling palaces dominate Las Vegas Boulevard South, better known as The Strip. Here, hotels are destinations unto themselves. Within a three-mile stretch, visitors can see the New York City skyline, the Eiffel Tower, an Egyptian pyramid, imperial Rome, a dancing fountain, and an exploding volcano. A monorail links several hotels and the Las Vegas Convention Center.

"Like Vegas dirty around the edges"
Nice hotel but felt the room was a little dirty upon arrival found used towel under window curtain and the sink didn't drain well. Heard doors slamming all night I understand people are out all night in Vegas but they should have better door quieters

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The only thing that I would complain about is the pool. Each day I was there, it was extremely difficult to find a lounge chair. I would have to pay someone from the hotel 5-$10 to locate a chair by the pool, and it would take him about a half hour to do so. Also, they don't have enough servers by the pool. Someone would […] approach you about every hour, and ask if you wanted a drink or food. Read more

"Don't overlook the resort fee!"
Good hotel, nice stay, but add a MANDATORY $25 to your rate... if it's mandatory, shouldn't it be part of the quoted price instead of tucked away in the fine print?
"nicely appointed rooms"
We needed a place to stay for our last night of vacation prior to flying out the next day. Hotels.com listed this room at a very reasonable price and we were impressed from the start. The front desk service was quick and friendly, and very helpful. The rooms were very comfortable, beds were perfect and the bathroom had a great combination of amenities […] and space. The casino offered a lot of options for eating, gaming and without a great deal of smokiness. All in all, we would definitely be back. Read more

"Tropical getaway in the heart of the strip"
Really enjoyed the hotel and attractions! Pool got crowded super early and all lounge chairs taken. Plan to be at the pool at 8 when it opens just to get a chair by the pool! Overall amazing place to stay!
Nice people, good service, clean rooms and great atmosphere.

"Marginal experience"
The customer service was very slow. We waited over an hour to check in and there were no towels in our room when we got there. It took over an hour to get towels!! The bathroom was incredibly small as well. Nice hotel to see, but there are much better places to stay on the strip.
"You get what you pay for"
When evaluating the Mirage, you have to consider a couple of important points. It's old in comparison to newer resorts like The Cosmopolitan, The Wynn or The Venetian. So, of course, the casino feels and smells dated. It's also cheaper than options like Caesar's, The Bellagio or one of the resorts listed previously. So, you get what you pay for. If […] you can make it through check-in (we were first given a room that was still occupied), then you will find a clean, cozy room in a resort that is in a great section of the strip. If you are looking to actually hang out in your hotel, then I'd suggest going for something newer and more expensive. Oh, try the buffet here. It's actually really good, especially for brunch. I would highly recommend the Mirage to anyone visiting Las Vegas, the staff was very friendly and professional. Very much enjoyed my visit.

We found a refrigerator in the room only stocked with products triple the price and if you moved one....it was charged to the room. I would expect something better than that for the price we paid.
"Don't stay here"
I would love to be able to contact the top managment at this hotel to get some satisfaction about the fact that I WAS ROBBED AT THIS HOTEL! Apparently, they have plenty of low lifes that hang around the ATM's at this hotel. Some guy followed me and, as I was opening a door leading to the WestWwing of the hotel, he apparently came up behind me and took […] my wallet out of my shoulder bag. BE FOREWARNED IF YOU STAY THERE. The other galling thing is the nasty way their " risk management" department has treated me. Basically, they have blown me off and were rude as anything. Again, I cannot say enough bad things. If anyone has any ideas about how I can contact the higher ups there, I would appreciate it. Read more

"Overpriced Average Hotel"
The Mirage is a very average hotel and extremely over priced. For a supposed 4.5 star hotel, we were surprised to find a poorly working air conditioner, a leaking shower head, a light bulb out in the room, and a television that barely worked. We are from NJ and not used to the smoke in public buildings, but found the Mirage to be unbearably smokey. […] It did have a friendly staff and they were very sympathetic when we complained about a daily $25 resort fee plus 12% tax on the fee but we still had to pay it. For this fee, you do get free faxes and a newspaper that you have to ask for. When I asked for one, they were out. Read more

"Mirage Spring 2012"
The hotel was great. Only downside was it was a little too warm even when adjusting the thermostat. Also our hotel keys did not work but security let us in within less than 5 minutes. The concierge desk was also helpful with getting us new keys. The only thing that were not told about was an extra $3 charge on top of the $25 resort feel. Overall an […] affordable hotel on the Las Vegas strip. Read more
"Hotel cleaning staff"
Hotel staff was 1st rate. On the last night of our stay, my son had food poisoning at Treasure Island, (don't eat at the buffet) and vomited all over the bathroom at 3am. The hotel maintence came up to the room within 10 minutes and spent over an hour cleaning up the mess. Cleaning up this type of a mess is certainly no fun, but they did it with a professional […] attitude and without complaint. So I commend their efforts. Read more

"Hotel theft"
The maid cleaning our room stole my engagement ring and wedding room off the bedside table. I would never stay at the Mirage again or recommend the Mirage to anyone!
Great hotel in the heart of the action. The pool area was wonderful, the rooms were great and the action was constant.

"Wife's birthday"
We stayed at the Mirage for 3 nights over my wife's birthday. She had never been to Vegas before, and the hotel's central location on the strip was ideal. When we arrived, the only standard king room (what we booked) available was on the second floor. While we were trying to decide whether to pay for an upgrade, the woman at the front desk upgraded […] us to a king delux room on the 25th floor for freeeeeeeee! Which was great. Overall great stay. Very nice pool. Good resteraunt options. I would certainly recommend the Mirage to anyone. Read more
