The hotel itself was perfectly nice & clean and the staff were friendly. We were told breakfast would be $12 per person but then we were charged $16 per person, which was a little high either way.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I think this hotel is way overpriced for what you get. The hotel is very rundown. It was raining outside during our stay which also meant it was raining inside our room and the halls. The location is great, but other than that I would have rather stayed at a $50 a night hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location, easy to find and easy access to downtown. The hotel was beautiful, and the staff was super friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Highly recommended for location and excellence"
I stayed 4 nights for a training conference and after reading some of the earlier reviews wondered how it might go. I have to say I cannot fault the Crowne Plaza. I was in a 4th floor room and it was so comfortable, they actually need to update their room pictures as they give the impression it's all older than these rooms are. My room was very contemporary, […] had a large flat screen tv, very comfortable bed, sofa and chair, desk and plenty of space...it was a Queen Executive. The room was cleaned daily and always left like new. The public areas are very nice, the breakfast buffet although a little pricey in my opinion, was excellent for choice and they offer a fresh cooked omelette to order made in front of you. Another great feature is the parking garage under the hotel, offering safe lit and undercover parking for your vehicle, and plenty of it. The garage was accessible by a special elevator direct from each floor, which was handy when loading my luggage as I checked out. The only minor criticism was to do with the conference room my AMA course was held in. I work for a very large conference center and always look at rooms rented for this purpose anywhere I go to compare. The room I was in was just not cleaned satisfactorily, all three days I was in there the carpet needed sweeping badly and I felt this let the hotel down. It didn't affect my stay, just a professional industry observation on my part. Hotel is in a great area and location, I will definitely return again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My family & I just spend a week at the Crowne Plaza hotel. As mentioned in other references, the staff were friendly, but you could tell that they were a little stressed due to a big soccer tournament taking place all week and there being so many soccer teams staying at the hotel. The soccer guys were great but they completely took over the place […] and it seemed to have quite an impact on the day-to-day functions. For example, the hot tub was full pretty much every evening and there were longish lines in the breakfast room. Most concerning of all was the door slamming at all hours. It was very disturbing and I don't think we had a single night without banging & shouting. We did report it to the front desk and suggested that we move, but there were only 2 rooms remaining in the hotel. The hotel is also seems to be undergoing a renovation. Our room was clean and we had no complaints, but you can tell that the hotel is looking a little worn out. For example, the hallway carpets are stained and the place looks a little tired. Would we stay there again? Probably not. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was not clean..dirty carpets..old building..needs renovation. Booked 2 double beds..hotel gave me one queen bed and a sleeper sofa. Terrible.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a decent place. The staff was great and helpful. The hotel is under construction and you can smell the wet paint. They are taking single rooms and making them into suites. Which leaves for large space; and at a great price. However; the bed was hard and the pillows were hard; there was not one soft pillow to choose from. I had to throw every […] pillow off of the bed because they were too hard; then use a blanket. Outside of the pillows; everything was fine. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

We've stayed at the hotel on previous occasions because of events we have attended. It's not a luxury hotel but it's adequate and comfortable and the rates are good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good stay for New Year's Eve."
Hotel is nice. Rooms are big and very clean. The only thing I would suggest is that they update the old-school tv's they have in the rooms. That will go a long way in modernizing the rooms. Very clean hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Worst room I've ever had at the Crowne Plaza. It almost appeared as though someone had a fight in the room. The headboard was tilted sideways, the front panel of the bathroom vanity was crushed in, the TV remote didn't work properly and the hair dryer in the bathroom didn't work either. Fortunately, the stay was for only one night and I did report the […] problem to the front desk upon my departure. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel was in a good location. Bed was very comfortable but the sheets did not fit it properly.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was a beautiful trip. Check in was a little wait cause there was only one person and there was a long line. I wish they would have provided a fridge so we could keep our drinks cold, but other than that it was a wonderful stay. The bed was so soft and comfy.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was very surprised at how much i enjoyed this hotel. Although the internet was out for a full day of my stay, which was rather an inconvenience, it was very nice. The pool facilities were lovely, and the room service was probably the best I have ever had. They have nice little cards available that show the route to a bordering neighborhood walking/running […] trail. The trail was fully lit, with playgrounds, dog parks, water ponds, and led up to a nearby school with baseball and soccer fields. The whole area behind the hotel where the trail is is filled with the most beautiful houses. I would go back to this hotel just to take advantage of such a nice safe place to go for a run in the evening. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I really enjoyed my stay here. The only trouble was "timing" I guess. The Fitness and Pool area were shut down. However, it was raining, so no big deal. The first person who greeted me at the desk was nice, but they did not tell me about the PRIORITY CLUB. I overheard that later as I was waiting on a friend. If you are NOT on the Priority Rewards Club, […] get on it! Discounts, Free Drink. Candy! I look forward to spending time at other Crowne Plaza hotels, but I really enjoyed this one. "Not bad, except for stain on sheet and size of bed"
Overall not a bad experience. My sheet was stained though with either makeup or blood (little troublesome to see), and I was unimpressed with the size of the beds, as they weren't queen sized (was by myself, but was put in a 2 bed room, neither were queen size). Staff was friendly, good location though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Right out of the 1980's Old and Very Damp"
This is the former Harvey Hotel on Midway Rd. It is past it's prime.......... The rooms smell of dampness! They give all guests Sleepmasks (the drapes can't close??) and Ear Plugs to silence noise??. The rooms are SMALL, the matress has been retro-fitted with a strap-on one inch pad hidden under the sheets. No in-room Safe, a 20 year old 25" TV, no […] on-line channel guide, no on-line check out. The 4th floor (Top Floor) hall carpet stained from ROOF LEAKS. All in all, you can do a-lot better for the money and be much closer to the Galleria. Enjoy! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Quite Comfy !"
The Crowne Plaza was very convenient to an array of restaurants and fun places. I loved the fact it was in a safe and quiet neighborhood especially since I was traveling alone and not too familiar with the area. I would absolutely stay here again!Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel is in a great location close to restaurants and bars Room was clean but hotel is old and needs updating no flat screen tv, charge for internet, otherwise place is greatGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not to bad"
hotel itself was quite nice with friendly staff, my only criticism is that I was served a terrine meal in the restaurant, very very poor indeed. I would avoid eating in the hotel at all cost, which should't really be an issue due to the fact that there are plenty of other places to chose from in the area.
Genuine Expedia guest review

This hotel was absolutely beautiful. You can surely tell its dated but the maintenance at the hotel is in tip-top shape. It is a very large hotel and very quiet which we liked. We were given a double queen upon arrival and quickly had the staff change it to the standard king. Only downside to our trip was the hot tub wasn't heating and/or jets weren't working. After we told the front desk they had it fixed very quickly. I would also recommend keeping the pool area open 24 hours.
"Nice area, very comfortable, but hotel starting to show age"
08/19/14 lwalker1967 Arab, Alabama
I recently stayed at this hotel and found the hotel to be very nice. The public areas were well maintained and were a great place for social interaction. The front desk staff were very courteous and did everything in their power to quickly process arrival and answer any questions. Upon entering the room I found that my room had plenty of space but the room was starting to show signs of age. The stucco ceiling in my room was starting to peel in a couple of areas, and the bathroom was dated. However, these things were minor issues, since the hotel was in an area where I felt comfortable, with a lot of food choices within a couple of miles. The Texas sized pool was not all that it was cracked up to be. Yes, it was larger than a normal pool but not what I consider resort sized. The exercise room was adequate, but again I felt comfortable walking in the area instead of on a treadmill, so I enjoyed that, As for sleep quality, I found the room to be quiet and the bed was comfortable, so rest was good. I would definitely stay at this hotel if ever in the area again..
"Nice Hotel, Nice Area, Close to Great Shopping and Food!"
08/11/14 Erisk25 Jenks, Oklahoma
I have stayed in this hotel a few times and still love it! Rooms are nice and the food is awesome! Average food seems a bit higher priced, but worth it. If you want to go out, there are many food options only a few miles away in Addison.Galleria is not far for great shopping any time of year. Pool area is nice but workout room which is detached from rooms, seemed small. Overall, good place to stay!

I had a great visit here. It was just a night, for business, but the staff was polite, and while the hotel was not easy to navigate, the rest of the experience was great. Breakfast was good, and the rooms were comfortable and quiet. Would recommend for anyone needing a hotel in this area.
"Great place to stay "

From the outside, the Crowne Plaza near the Galleria, doesn't impress. But once you are inside, it is very nice. The common areas, bar, rooms all are clean and well maintained. The staff that we encountered were all friendly and helpful. I stay in hotels often and this one is worth a return trip. The pool area is quiet and clean. It feels secluded and the landscaping is very nice. There are plenty of spots to get some sun yet enough shade to keep you cool under the hot Texas sun. My kids loved the pool area. The breakfast had plenty of fresh selections and the quality of everything was top notch. No complaints. We did not sample the restaurant. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

Lawrence Smith at McArthur's Restaurant was very attentive, courteous, and efficient. Bravo! The breakfast and lunch buffets were delicious, generous, and reasonably-priced. The business center with two computers for complimentary use, including printing, was quite helpful. N. Pham
"Overall, great property"
07/22/14 brianparsley charlotte
The Pros: The customer service at this property is fantastic. As a seasoned traveler I have high standards and they exceeded them. The breakfast buffet was excellent and again service was great. Selection and even quality of food was above par. The room was large and very comfortable so you don't have to worry about being cramped. The shower head was very low (felt like a basketball player), but it's probably just an issue with remodeling an older property. The Cons: The only thing I don't like about this property is the AC. It's a wall unit and loud...it comes on and off all night which can impact sleep. If you have ear plugs, you won't have this impact you. Overall, it's a great property and would stay there again.

We recently traveled to Dallas to attend a family reunion. Arriving late, I was greeted by a very pleasant young man. Our rooms were ready and we moved in. My teenagers were hungry of course and we noticed on the room service menu you could order 2 pizzas, 2 orders of wings and 2 pitchers of cola for a very affordable price. It was delivered quickly and was very good. My husband who is originally from Buffalo is a wing snob and those wings got his approval, crispy with just the right amount of heat. The pizza was really good and was devoured. The hotel was recently renovated and is beautiful. The pool area on the 2nd floor was large and very nice. Located very close are many eating establishments, be sure you try Spring Creek for BBQ. Large, clean rooms, attentive staff and a great breakfast buffett. Enjoy your stay. We will be back.
"A four star wannabe hotel but not even close"
06/23/14 OneHonestReviewer San Antonio, TX
In the bathroom, they have a sign that says, "The small things make all the difference" and as a first time customer to a Crowne Plaza hotel, I say they really need to follow this slogan because currently they are coming up way short. This is supposed to be a four star hotel but it is not even in the same league as Hilton and Hyatt. Yes, its clean and has marble floors in the lobby and at first glance it gives off a nice impression but as you stay longer you see it's just an average hotel trying to act like a luxury brand. First, the big three: bedding, noise, and service. The bed's were SUPER hard and are more like a Day's Inn bed or Howard Johnson than a Hilton, Wingate, Hyatt sleep system that has a nice pillowtop and fits to your body. NO pillowtop here, just an extra firm mattress. I asked for a king and even though the hotel was not that busy they would not give me one and I ended up at the very end of a long, long hall on the meeting room hallway, 2nd floor, Avoid this floor as it is very noisy and meetings start at 7:30am so no peaceful rest after this. I felt like they were going out of their way to give priceline guests the really poor rooms. Also, priceline really misleads on these deals as this room is normally $90 so it's not 60% off if I am paying $75 plus tax ($85 total). This is not much of a discount and I could have just booked a Hilton for $10 more and gotten my points and a restful sleep. As I said, it was noisy, doors slamming, meetings early so you could hear loud talking in the hallway and of course, the mark of a sub-standard hotel is to have housekeeping knock on my door at 8 am just to wake me up when checkout is not until noon. Real four and five star hotels never knock on guests doors as they have a cleaning system by phone and computer that monitors the status of each room as some guests have late-checkups like 2pm so why would they knock at 8am?? This just shows they are not at the four star level. Lastly, service which was average at best. Not very friendly at check-in. Didn't honor any of my requests for bed type or a quiet room. They have bell service but he was hiding in the back and only came out after having to ask for service, again not very polished and NOT four star. Parking is free at the hotel and my Internet was free but there is normally a charge though I would have rather have had a more comfortable king bed. Room service is available just like in a four star, but the menu is very very basic and average. Nothing Dallas inspired or Texas themed just steaks, chicken, pasta. They have brisket but I wonder how fresh it is. Didn't even have a wedge salad. Need some more exciting dishes and better pizza offerings (only two toppings included at these prices??) The biggest turnoff occurred the next morning when at 10am I went to the pool and hot tub which are both outside on the second floor. The pool was absolutely filthy with leaves and dirt in all areas of the pool. It looks like it had not been cleaned in a week and you could not have paid me to get in there. The hottub was on but the water was very cloudy and I could not see the bottom so it looked not ready and this was 10am. At most four star hotels this cleaning is done at 6-7 am every day. What am I paying for if I can not use the facilities?? This was very surprising and firmed my view that this was really a pretender hotel that wants to say they are 4 star but aren't much over a two star in quality and service. I would never stay here again and I even felt ripped off going through priceline because this was not four star in any way. There are literally a 100 other hotels in this area so you should have no trouble finding a better hotel and staying away from this one.

nice breakfast buffet was included because I'm gold with ICH. Very Large hotel. needed shaving cream, went to the desk and they said they would send it up, but it's been about 40 minutes after calling also. Nice bar with everything you need. Safe location, close to bars, restaurants and shopping. Hotel helped me get a taxi and they showed up right away. They do have a shuttle, but they said 3.8 miles was too far away. They do have a pool, with Jacuzzi and a gym.
