"Good stay for New Year's Eve."
Hotel is nice. Rooms are big and very clean. The only thing I would suggest is that they update the old-school tv's they have in the rooms. That will go a long way in modernizing the rooms. Very clean hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Worst room I've ever had at the Crowne Plaza. It almost appeared as though someone had a fight in the room. The headboard was tilted sideways, the front panel of the bathroom vanity was crushed in, the TV remote didn't work properly and the hair dryer in the bathroom didn't work either. Fortunately, the stay was for only one night and I did report the […] problem to the front desk upon my departure. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel was in a good location. Bed was very comfortable but the sheets did not fit it properly.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was a beautiful trip. Check in was a little wait cause there was only one person and there was a long line. I wish they would have provided a fridge so we could keep our drinks cold, but other than that it was a wonderful stay. The bed was so soft and comfy.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was very surprised at how much i enjoyed this hotel. Although the internet was out for a full day of my stay, which was rather an inconvenience, it was very nice. The pool facilities were lovely, and the room service was probably the best I have ever had. They have nice little cards available that show the route to a bordering neighborhood walking/running […] trail. The trail was fully lit, with playgrounds, dog parks, water ponds, and led up to a nearby school with baseball and soccer fields. The whole area behind the hotel where the trail is is filled with the most beautiful houses. I would go back to this hotel just to take advantage of such a nice safe place to go for a run in the evening. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I really enjoyed my stay here. The only trouble was "timing" I guess. The Fitness and Pool area were shut down. However, it was raining, so no big deal. The first person who greeted me at the desk was nice, but they did not tell me about the PRIORITY CLUB. I overheard that later as I was waiting on a friend. If you are NOT on the Priority Rewards Club, […] get on it! Discounts, Free Drink. Candy! I look forward to spending time at other Crowne Plaza hotels, but I really enjoyed this one. Great hotel. Great service. VERY uncomfortable pillows and the air conditioner was so loud that it woke you up each time it came on during the night.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Not bad, except for stain on sheet and size of bed"
Overall not a bad experience. My sheet was stained though with either makeup or blood (little troublesome to see), and I was unimpressed with the size of the beds, as they weren't queen sized (was by myself, but was put in a 2 bed room, neither were queen size). Staff was friendly, good location though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Right out of the 1980's Old and Very Damp"
This is the former Harvey Hotel on Midway Rd. It is past it's prime.......... The rooms smell of dampness! They give all guests Sleepmasks (the drapes can't close??) and Ear Plugs to silence noise??. The rooms are SMALL, the matress has been retro-fitted with a strap-on one inch pad hidden under the sheets. No in-room Safe, a 20 year old 25" TV, no […] on-line channel guide, no on-line check out. The 4th floor (Top Floor) hall carpet stained from ROOF LEAKS. All in all, you can do a-lot better for the money and be much closer to the Galleria. Enjoy! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Quite Comfy !"
The Crowne Plaza was very convenient to an array of restaurants and fun places. I loved the fact it was in a safe and quiet neighborhood especially since I was traveling alone and not too familiar with the area. I would absolutely stay here again!Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel is in a great location close to restaurants and bars Room was clean but hotel is old and needs updating no flat screen tv, charge for internet, otherwise place is greatGenuine Expedia guest review
"First and last time I still in this hotel"
Given the location and the setup, it seemed to look very appealing. I reserved the best room they had which was an executive suite, only to find out that the executive suite looked outdated. It had a "loud" window unit with a wall control for the AC, along with a very small tv that sat far away from the living room. Not to mention the living room was […] the same as the bedroom just large enough to space it out. As soon as I called the front desk, I got no answer on the first three tries. Aaaannd, the hotel is large enough to get lost. They gave no directions to get to your room so you noticed the same people walking in circles trying to find their room. I tried contacting the Gen Mgr because of my dissatisfaction only to get the front desk guy to tell me to leave a message for him and then offered me a "downgrade" from what I paid for. Im not going to go off on a tangent but this will be the first and last time I stay here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My sister and I had the best time staying here. The hotel was spotless, and the staff was polite. It was a great, relaxing stay and I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"convenient location but needs renovation"
The furniture, bathroom, and tv are very outdated. No way in the world hotels.com should give this place that high of a rating! We've used the service many times and feel duped. I booked this place for my family along with the in-laws and was embarrassed by the accommodations. I no longer trust the website.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not to bad"
hotel itself was quite nice with friendly staff, my only criticism is that I was served a terrine meal in the restaurant, very very poor indeed. I would avoid eating in the hotel at all cost, which should't really be an issue due to the fact that there are plenty of other places to chose from in the area.
Genuine Expedia guest review
"Overall, great property"
07/22/14 brianparsley charlotte
The Pros: The customer service at this property is fantastic. As a seasoned traveler I have high standards and they exceeded them. The breakfast buffet was excellent and again service was great. Selection and even quality of food was above par. The room was large and very comfortable so you don't have to worry about being cramped. The shower head was very low (felt like a basketball player), but it's probably just an issue with remodeling an older property. The Cons: The only thing I don't like about this property is the AC. It's a wall unit and loud...it comes on and off all night which can impact sleep. If you have ear plugs, you won't have this impact you. Overall, it's a great property and would stay there again.

We recently traveled to Dallas to attend a family reunion. Arriving late, I was greeted by a very pleasant young man. Our rooms were ready and we moved in. My teenagers were hungry of course and we noticed on the room service menu you could order 2 pizzas, 2 orders of wings and 2 pitchers of cola for a very affordable price. It was delivered quickly and was very good. My husband who is originally from Buffalo is a wing snob and those wings got his approval, crispy with just the right amount of heat. The pizza was really good and was devoured. The hotel was recently renovated and is beautiful. The pool area on the 2nd floor was large and very nice. Located very close are many eating establishments, be sure you try Spring Creek for BBQ. Large, clean rooms, attentive staff and a great breakfast buffett. Enjoy your stay. We will be back.
"A four star wannabe hotel but not even close"
06/23/14 OneHonestReviewer San Antonio, TX
In the bathroom, they have a sign that says, "The small things make all the difference" and as a first time customer to a Crowne Plaza hotel, I say they really need to follow this slogan because currently they are coming up way short. This is supposed to be a four star hotel but it is not even in the same league as Hilton and Hyatt. Yes, its clean and has marble floors in the lobby and at first glance it gives off a nice impression but as you stay longer you see it's just an average hotel trying to act like a luxury brand. First, the big three: bedding, noise, and service. The bed's were SUPER hard and are more like a Day's Inn bed or Howard Johnson than a Hilton, Wingate, Hyatt sleep system that has a nice pillowtop and fits to your body. NO pillowtop here, just an extra firm mattress. I asked for a king and even though the hotel was not that busy they would not give me one and I ended up at the very end of a long, long hall on the meeting room hallway, 2nd floor, Avoid this floor as it is very noisy and meetings start at 7:30am so no peaceful rest after this. I felt like they were going out of their way to give priceline guests the really poor rooms. Also, priceline really misleads on these deals as this room is normally $90 so it's not 60% off if I am paying $75 plus tax ($85 total). This is not much of a discount and I could have just booked a Hilton for $10 more and gotten my points and a restful sleep. As I said, it was noisy, doors slamming, meetings early so you could hear loud talking in the hallway and of course, the mark of a sub-standard hotel is to have housekeeping knock on my door at 8 am just to wake me up when checkout is not until noon. Real four and five star hotels never knock on guests doors as they have a cleaning system by phone and computer that monitors the status of each room as some guests have late-checkups like 2pm so why would they knock at 8am?? This just shows they are not at the four star level. Lastly, service which was average at best. Not very friendly at check-in. Didn't honor any of my requests for bed type or a quiet room. They have bell service but he was hiding in the back and only came out after having to ask for service, again not very polished and NOT four star. Parking is free at the hotel and my Internet was free but there is normally a charge though I would have rather have had a more comfortable king bed. Room service is available just like in a four star, but the menu is very very basic and average. Nothing Dallas inspired or Texas themed just steaks, chicken, pasta. They have brisket but I wonder how fresh it is. Didn't even have a wedge salad. Need some more exciting dishes and better pizza offerings (only two toppings included at these prices??) The biggest turnoff occurred the next morning when at 10am I went to the pool and hot tub which are both outside on the second floor. The pool was absolutely filthy with leaves and dirt in all areas of the pool. It looks like it had not been cleaned in a week and you could not have paid me to get in there. The hottub was on but the water was very cloudy and I could not see the bottom so it looked not ready and this was 10am. At most four star hotels this cleaning is done at 6-7 am every day. What am I paying for if I can not use the facilities?? This was very surprising and firmed my view that this was really a pretender hotel that wants to say they are 4 star but aren't much over a two star in quality and service. I would never stay here again and I even felt ripped off going through priceline because this was not four star in any way. There are literally a 100 other hotels in this area so you should have no trouble finding a better hotel and staying away from this one.

nice breakfast buffet was included because I'm gold with ICH. Very Large hotel. needed shaving cream, went to the desk and they said they would send it up, but it's been about 40 minutes after calling also. Nice bar with everything you need. Safe location, close to bars, restaurants and shopping. Hotel helped me get a taxi and they showed up right away. They do have a shuttle, but they said 3.8 miles was too far away. They do have a pool, with Jacuzzi and a gym.
"Good Hotel - Mediocre Restaurant"
06/08/14 KarSan7 Pflugerville, Texas
The hotel was excellent however the staff were not very knowledgeable. The pillows in the room were too large to be able to sleep comfortably. The food in their restaurant was mediocre at best and the service was terrible. It took at least 10 minutes to get a menu and the room was not very crowded. The Chicken Caesar Salad was mostly croutons and the chicken was chopped into very large lumps.
"Manager on duty was horrible!!!"
06/07/14 cline_teg Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
I stayed on this property a few weeks ago and the MOD was horrible. I don't recall his name but he was mid to older guy working 2nd shift. I asked him a question and he got smart with me. When I asked him why he responded to me, he told me that he was from New York and that's the was he talks. I was enough for me to cancel my future arrangements for this hotel. The entire time was there, I didn't see the front desk smiling a lot and therefore gave the impression that they didn't like their jobs.

We stayed here for two nights at the start of a road trip through Texas from UK. This was a good location as we wanted to visit Southfork (unfortunately not open!!!) but good for Dallas via Plano which proved to be great. Location us best suited for business travellers. The hotel was better than expected, comfortable room with ok amenities. The restaurant was closed on our 1st night but we were able to eat in the bar (same food) and this proved to be ok. Most staff encountered were very good except for check in at reception which was very slow onside ring we were the only people checking in at that time. Hotel was very busy with corporate visitors and this made up the majority of the guests.
"One person can make a difference"
We live in Switzerland. As we were travelling with our son who lives in Hawaii and in order to avoid any complications concerning the two room reservations, we pre-pay (in this case, two months in advance). When we arrived in Dallas on 16.05, one of the 5 stops on our itinerary, we were told that we had been moved to a neighbouring hotel, which was completely unacceptable. The desk clerk was adamant that due to "a system-error" the hotel was over-booked. We then enquired as to whether suites were available in lieu of two rooms to which she replied "no". We asked to see the manager and Brison Coldiron, the Front Office Supervisor, appeared and initially repeated the same story with his apologies. We insisted that we would not move to another hotel and repeated our enquiry regarding suites. He disappeared into the back office and re-emerged with the good news that indeed the Presidential Suite (aka The Cypress Suite) was available. Its spacious living area, 1 & 1/2 baths and separate bedroom should satisfy our requirements. He also offered a refund of one night. His professional behaviour was a welcome relief to all the turbulence. The following day we received a hand-written note of apology from Brison Coldiron. We enjoyed our 4 nights at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and would strongly recommend it, however, with the caveat that one checks with the Front Desk to see who is on duty before booking. One person can make a difference; in this case, it was Brison Coldiron – chapeau! N.B. We agree with the review written by 27Artist – we enjoyed Lawrence’s professional behaviour and personality.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza for 6 nights for training in a nearby building. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, especially in the restaurant and bar. It is a very busy hotel, but they handle the volume well. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and the food at the restaurant is good. Good for business travelers.
"We went to the American Iris Convention."
05/28/14 MJB323 Los Alamos, New Mexico
We went to the American Iris Convention there in 2013 and 2014. The first we went, service was very good, but the second time went, they did not have our room ready for two hours. I guess the fact that the NCAA Final Four was in town that week and we got pushed back a week because there was a National High School Girl Soccer event in the same hotel the last two days of our convention going on. It lasted a week. Monty Bilberry
