Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

comfy bed, nice bathroom, great staff at front desk, wireless access easy, computer in Lobby new and rapid. Parking garage reasonable rate. Great spot nearby:EatIly--check it out for restaurants and goodies to bring home. Only improvement that could be made is quality of towels.

It was a nice stay. Only complaints are the size of the double bed rooms and the internet was very off/on. Other than that it was an excellent stay.
Even though the hotel is situated in one of New York's most vibrant neighborhoods, you'll be pleased to find that Crowne Plaza offers places to unwind. Scotch lovers can sample one of 89 labels at the hotel bar. A breakfast buffet (surcharge) is available in the hotel restaurant, Brasserie 1605, daily from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Lunch and dinner are served with alongside remarkable city views. A children's menu and room service are also available to guests. The fitness center, operated by New York Sports Club, boasts a large indoor lap pool. A 24-hour business center is available to guests along with exhibit space and audio-visual equipment. To help keep information within your reach, wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel for a surcharge. Smoke alarm went off at 11 pm. We weren't asleep yet. Called front desk, no answer. I removed the 9v battery. It kept chirping loudly and often so I unscrewed it from the wall and unplugged the electrical wire. Then at 3:10 am the smoke alarm went off in the neighboring room. It was shrill and loud enough to awaken us and several other rooms. I heard […] people opening and closing doors, talking on phones, complaining about the noise. THIS WENT ON FOR 20 MINUTES! Couldn't get back to sleep. I told the front desk in the morning. They offered to enroll me in their 'club' with some discount points. Overall review: Mixed. The hotel seemed better than some of the obviously dumpy hotels in the neighborhood, but not getting any sleep was a huge disappointment and took some of the joy out of the next day. The room was clean and comfortable. Broadway has come down since last visit five years ago. Orchestras are now 4-5 people. Actors end every show by taking bows then begging for money for AIDS charity -- very unprofessional. Aggressive street peddlers handing out rap CDs on sidewalk whispering obscenities in my wife's ear as we passed. This was our last trip to NYC. Nice surprise was that The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Natural History Museum aren't charging admission (its optional). Read more
"Great location for starting point to everything"
Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. Shower pressure left a lot to be desired. Bathroom could use a little updating. No soda machines in ice machine area. Room service good quality. Location is great for access to Broadway, transportation to other sights.
The Crown Plaza is in a perfect location, in the heart of the theater district. It is easy to walk to many attractions, and bus/boat tours are easily available and quite reasonable - especially for multi -day use.
"Room upgrade"
Room was not available at 3pm and.we received a bar voucher ($15 each). Finally, a room was available but incredibly noisy. We were then upgraded to a Concierge room (floors 45, 46, 47) which was lovely. The hotel was very nice and seemed clean. Our room was clean however we had no hot water in the sink or shower and the shower was clogged so when we took a cold shower you stood in the pool of water that accumulated.

This hotel was in a great location. Walk out the door and you're in Times Square. Our room was ready even though we were 3 hours early. Our room faced the Hudson. Was still a nice view. We didn't get a couple things in our room that come standard. Like the robes and the relaxing cd. But I wasn't concerned enough to call and ask for them. The bed was […] too hard for my daughter. But was fine for me. Room size and bath were good size. They did have elevator and escalator problems the last couple of days. But it didn't cause us a problem. Room service good was so good! Exceptional hotel at a value price. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and we had an awesome view of Times Square. We loved being in walking distance to all of the Broadway shows and subway. We would definately stay here again.

We were very pleased with the hotel and the location for a first time visit. We always felt safe and comfortable. The beds ARE amazing! Slept like a baby! Some street "venders" tried to get us to check out their "goods" very late one night (2am) outside the hotel but there are tons of police patrolling the area so we never felt threatened and just kept […] walking. We had a room right next to the elevators and they never bothered us. We never heard people in the halls or anything other than the occasional whir of the elevator or a faint siren from the street below. When we first arrived at 11 am- Sharon (?) checked us in and our room was already ready! She was awesome. Told us where to get show tickets and what not to bother seeing. My wife and I found the hotel to be a very courteous and pleasant lodging. The food was very delicious and well prepared. The staff members were very nice and eager to please. The hotel was in a perfect spot for getting to all places we wanted to go, even for walking to places. I would certainly return for another stay if I visit New York again.

Our hotel stay was great. I needed accessibility to the broadway theaters without having to waste time getting on the subway or a bus. Wow was this location convenient! This hotel was very nice. The location was great - we were basically on top of times square. We had a great view. It was clean and modern looking. The price seemed fair. We paid an extra $20 fee to guarantee a room with a view, which I think was well worth the price. Enjoy!

44th floor room was very comfortable, clean, & a great view. Vim took great care of us each morning @ the delicious bkfast buffet. Hotel @ corner of 49th & Broadway was conveniently located to everything; theatres, shopping, dining, & the subway stations. "Right in TImes Square!"
The hotel was in the perfect location. Everything was so close: TImes Square, The Rock, Shopping, Broadway shows- you name it, you got it. It was also really convenient to subway lines and Penn Station (maybe a 10-15 minute walk or 6$ cab ride). The hotel itself was pretty nice and had great views!

The only thing I have to complain about is the lack of free Wi-Fi in the rooms. At the price we're paying there should be no charge like there is for that service. All other hotels I have stayed in recently do allow it. On the plus side of comments I simply must rave about the beds!!! Bar none, it was the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept […] on! Being a former resident of NYC, I hate going back because I now have to stay in a hotel! The NYC hotels are small, unfriendly, expensive and hit and miss as far as how nice they are! There are so many hotels to choose from when going to NYC, it's overwhelming! I randomly choose the Cowne Plaza-the 4 star rating and photos helped! We had such a wonderful […] stay! We were upgraded to a suite! There were comfy robes and slippers waiting for us! A mini Kureig in the room! The bed was very comfortable! It was clean too!! The front deal staff was very gracious-not usually the case in NY hotels!! There is parking at the hotel, very convienient! The bell hops are quick and redili available! Our last stay at the Crowne was perfect. This time, they put us in the older section. The doors were heavy and slammed at all hours of the day and night. The tub didn't drain well and needed to be re-finished. The service was great, but I would have prefered the newer side of the hotel.

-Well located in Midtown- convenient to Time Sqaure, Central Park, Broadway, shopping, restaurants etc... -Physical accommodation are well maintained, sufficiently spacious, appear newly renovated, room was in great condition and very clean. I Travel to NY once a month sometime on business sometime on leisure - this hotel is appropriate for both. - […] Convenient amenities- one site restaurants, NY Sports club reciprocation (location in hotel building), multple entrances (including a broadway entrance) and loading area. Staff- All that I encounter were helpful and friendly (Not what one sometimes expects in NY). Leo at the desk was extremely helpful. (staff is consistently attractive and present well also). Location in times square can't be beat, good value. Concierge was helpful and recommended two great nontourist restaurants for us. Busy hotel, but didn't hear any noise while sleeping.
