"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.

LaGuardia Airport is the closest airport to Midtown Manhattan. This airport is located in north Queens, bordering Flushing and Bowery bays. North Beach and Elmhurst neighborhoods hem the airport’s south side. Immigrants from more than 100 nations live in this ethnically diverse area, once exclusively Jewish and Italian.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Hotel itself and location is horrible. Dont believe Hotels.com in making the hotel sound close to Manhattan. Extremely difficult to get to from Manhatan.

"Good service, poor restaurant choices."
It was okay. The room and lobby were nice. The television advertised movies which were unavailable and the restaurant was slow, the menu was limited in its selection, but the price and taste of food was good. Overall, pretty good value for the NYC area.
"EXCELLENT DEAL AND CONVENIENCE FOR LGA"

The hotel was very convenient to the airport, the shuttle was free and very easy to catch both to the train and the airport. The staff was very nice, room was good size, a little dated but clean. I would definately stay there again--great value!

"Rates could be better!"
Hotel location of course is near the airport and there's public transportation nearby, what I didn't find was more restaurants and stores (grocer, convience store, deli's, etc) and shopping; and because of this I find the rates a bit too expensive for what's not in the area. The room I stayed in had a smell of unclean, perhaps the carpet needed cleaning […] and the rooms aired out before the new guest arrive. Some of the rooms have refrigerators already in them, why not put them in all the rooms and have the microwaves on request. Customer Service is important to me and the afternoon/evening staff were not friendly and didn't greet with a smile or "welcome, thank you for choosing our hotel". The two staff members had negative issues amongst themselves and each other and with two guest after my initial check in. At check out, the one morning staff member is most friendly with a smile and thank you, I appreciated her hospitality! Read more
"Close to our Queens Destination"
Very good considering the economical rate. The hotel is a former Crowne Plaza and presents a "faded glory" image. It uses old fashioned bedspreads for example. But it is clean and comfortable and we would certainly stay there again. Parking was $15.00 per day and, by New York standards, was well worth it.
"Super convenient!"
We stayed the night before a flight out of LGA. We parked our car in their garage for the week (for an additional fee). The hotel was nice, the shuttle was convenient. We would definitely stay there again.
Tv's are too old
"Good time"
It was wonderful, great service.
"Big but ordinary"
Clean room, bathroom clean. pillows cases wrinkled like recently slept on. Staff was freindly and professional. This is a big but ordinary hotel. Lobby could use a facelift or upgrade it is aged. OK location amongst other hotels but had to pay $15.00 for parking.
"I stayed at this hotel when it was a Crown Plaza"
The parking garage machine is being held together with tape and what looks like glue. The lobby is gorgeous, the hotel shop is reasonable but everything else... Looks dirty and in need of serious upgrading. I kept seeing families with babies and groceries coming in. I told my husband that a section of the hotel must be a shelter. Hotel van does not […] operate on schedule. Lobby checkin personnel were exceptionally nice. Read more
"Not a place I would stay again"
We didn't realize how difficult it would be to get in and out of the city staying here. It requires multiple subway and bus changes, which made the money we saved not worth the effort. The beds were very hard and the walls extremely thin. Plus parking was an extra $15. The staff was nice and it seemed clean, but that is all I can say for positive r […] emarks. Read more

"convient"
I thought it was fine for an weekend stay. wished the dining room was opened for dinner.
This hotel needs serious renovation. It is very outdated and rooms are very uncomfortable and smell like old. I had to ask to be changed rooms because our rooms smelled like smoke even though it was a non smoking room. Avoid this hotel at all cost. Thank God I only booked it for my stopover at La Guardia on my way to visit family in Connecticut. I stayed […] at another Hotel down the street coming back home for only a bit higher than what I paid at the La Guardia Plaza and I think was money well spent. Read more

"Overnight Stay"
Very pleased with the overall service
"Reasonable Accommodation for the Price"
Hotel was adequate for the price, but could use allot of maintenance and cosmetic attention. Room was clean but bathroom vanity was cracked, windows dirty, wallpaper peeling. Bed linens were clean, and overall I would recommend for those more tolerant of hotel accommodations with the understanding you get what you pay for.
Overall it was very good. What stood out most was how friendly and helpful the staff was. There was a storm on the last night of my stay and my 5th floor room had a leak in the ceiling in a couple of places, but I was moved to a room just down the hall. The front desk agent was very apologetic and professional and acted quickly to assign me to the new […] room nearby. Aside from the leak itself, I had a very good experience in your hotel. Read more

"Average"
Hotel was relatively nice and clean. The room was nice, although the bathroom was not so great. Shower faucet was broken and only hot water was working. Service overall was adequate, considering the famous New York friendliness. Access to public transportation was also not so great. One has to take a bus through some shady areas to take subway to Manhattan, […] kind of creepy. However, overall it was not all bad experience for two night stay. I’ve seen worse. Read more

"Great for a Mets Game And close to the airport."
The shuttle was prompt, and definitely makes the hotel accessible yo subway , Citi Field and LaGuardia

"easy to get around Queens"
Great hotel. Needs a little updating like TV. A soft reno would be great. Parking easy but you have to validate every time you leave. It was a pain if there was a line at the desk. Staff friendly.
"Nice hotel"
The front desk staff was very friendly, all the bellhops and cleaning staff were extremely helpful, prompt and friendly. Even tho not in walking distance to much the hotel provides convenient shuttle service to the train station and airport where you can get multiple forms of transportation to anywhere you want to go. The bed was very comfortable, the […] room had a radio which was nice and pretty spacious. I would definately stay there again and recommend it to friends. Read more

Everything was clean, the bathroom was spacious. Great Stay.
"Good, but needs improvements."
The hotel was nice, had a nice pool and stuff, but a little cheap. Ex. the furniture is a bit old, no soap only shampoo. But other than that, it was a good stay. For the price breakfast should be included though. Also I really liked the location.

i would have expected breakfast included. Transportation ( shuttle van to train and airport) not clearly defined.Meal selection needs more variety and less expensive.
